And he did it with the most derogatory angry expression on his face.

The Tories are doing shitty things, really shitty things.

The ONLY way to stop them is by voting Labour. They are the only credible force to get shot of the Tories.

I also happen to think they have some decent policies in their own right, but that's not what we're talking about.

This is distraction politics and it's distraction politics being done as if we have a presidential system. People say they won't vote Labour because of this- that's crackers. What matters is how policies change the lives of ordinary people for better or worse.

Not in some theoretical sense but in real terms- food on the table, books in schools, live babies etc.

Losing the NHS is not hyperbole. Matt Hancock has recently personally endorsed Babylon, a company linked to the Hinchinbrooke disaster. That frightens me far more than JC mumbling something.

Great post scallop

RetiredNotExpired · 19/12/2018 16:40

Not the biggest Corbyn fan in the world, although a lifelong Labour voter,
so just leaving this here for others to see.

I don't know if he's a card carrying misogynist, I'm not in his head I couldn't possibly know that. What I do know is that when it comes right down to the wire HE doesn't care enough about Brexit, austerity or food banks to do the honourable thing and fess up to what he obviously said. Basically his own self image and desire to control what everyone else thinks of him is more important than those issues.

Then again I'm hardly suprised he's been MP for Islington North for 30 odd years which is one of the worst consituencies in the country for the housing crisis. He is actually when it comes down to it pretty incompetent himself...

VickyEadie · 19/12/2018 16:44

Sorry, can't vote for any party that intends to erase the concept of woman.

I'm 60, I've voted Labour all my life and been a member until Corbyn threw his lot in with the TRAs (was a party member in London in the 80s when Corbyn was seen as a fucking joke by the left). I'd rather spoil my paper than endorse this shower of shite.

Helmetbymidnight · 19/12/2018 16:44

I dislike corbyn immensely but cmon, who are fucking us up now?

Clue: it’s not corbyn.

hackmum · 19/12/2018 16:46

Before I watched the video, I practised mouthing "woman" and "people" so I could see what shape they made. Then I watched it. To my eyes, it looks very much like "people" - for the reasons outlined in Retired's screenshot.

I also think it pretty much sums up the state of this country when the government is starting to stockpile medicines because it's about to lead us into a national crisis, and the entire front bench and Tory backbenches are beside themselves with glee because the prime minister has said "Oh no, he isn't." How old are they? Six? It's absolutely shameful.

starcrossedseahorse · 19/12/2018 16:46

Retired and there are other lip readers all over twitter claiming the opposite. Tbh, no one needs a lip reader's opinion in any case - it is crystal clear what he says!

JimmyGrimble · 19/12/2018 16:46

It was ‘stupid people’ and he wasn’t wrong

Helmetbymidnight · 19/12/2018 16:47

Yeah but she identifies as the leader of a strong and stable govt so despite all evidence to the contrary...

impossiblecat · 19/12/2018 16:48

@starcrossedseahorse

Sick of experts, are you? 🤣

starcrossedseahorse · 19/12/2018 16:48

I completely agree with you Vickie - the Madigan fiasco, the invasion of TRAs on to AWS, his assertion on the Andrew Marr show that TWAW etc etc.

FatherBuzzCagney · 19/12/2018 16:48

However bad Corbyn's comment was - and I'm not in any way defending it - it's very tame compared to the absolute avalanche of misogynist shit being flung at Stella Creasey by Bromentum types on twitter for daring to say that Corbyn's language was inappropriate.

righton55 · 19/12/2018 16:49

I initially thought it was woman, but I watched again with all the other sounds muted and I think he does say people.

starcrossedseahorse · 19/12/2018 16:49

I have no one to vote for as the Greens were my back up party - and that went VERY badly wrong this year. Confused

righton55 · 19/12/2018 16:50

Agreed.

Helmetbymidnight · 19/12/2018 16:50

Didn’t May recall that Tory sex pest for the vote, the other day?

That was very...what’s the word...feminist of her.

starcrossedseahorse · 19/12/2018 16:51

impossible yes that's right...Confused

DioVelazquez · 19/12/2018 16:51

If you admit that trained lipreaders cannot reach a consensus, how can you say that it's "crystal clear what he says".

You undermine your own argument by being so partisan.

PreseaCombatir · 19/12/2018 16:51

DioVelazquez
My point is very, very clear. What Corbyn said is unacceptable and misogynistic. He knows this, which is why he is now lying.
Whether you like or hate May is irrelevant. Whether you’re pro or anti brexit is irrelevant. Left or right. Irrelevant.
The tribalism is ridiculous, and makes people look stupid. In my opinion.
Not sure why you think me stating my opinion means I think I’m ‘clever’, any more than anyone else staring an opposing one.

Should we just not post in this thread if our opinion is different to yours?
Where did I even allude to that? I’m not on the side of shutting down freedom of expression.
Rather than seeing it from the perspective that I think people should not post if they disagree with me, try and think from the perspective ‘everyone with differing views are allowed to equally contribute, and respond to arguments they disagree with’.
Hopefully this helps your understanding.
Arguing against things you disagree with is hardly groundbreaking stuff.

starcrossedseahorse · 19/12/2018 16:52

Helmet do you understand how people can be annoyed with what Corbyn said AND be critical of TM too?

DioVelazquez · 19/12/2018 16:53

Arguing against things you disagree with is hardly groundbreaking stuff

You didn't try to argue against anything, you just strung the points you didn't agree with into a long sentence to try to belittle them and make yourself feel superior. And yes, that was very, very clear.

CritEqual · 19/12/2018 16:55

I think we have a politics that reflects us and our current culture. We could all do with being a little kinder to one another, and try to forge strong friendships with those who might not share our politics. We are all human beings at the end of the day, and we are all more similar than we are different.

Helmetbymidnight · 19/12/2018 16:56

Yes I do.

But ‘just as bad as each other’ is lazy thinking. May is a horrendous leader. What’s happening to the country is hugely worrying. Corbyn is not incharge (andnever will be)

Charlie elphicke and Andrew griffiths mps. Nice.

starcrossedseahorse · 19/12/2018 16:56

Whereas Alison the lip reader has no political axe to grind whatsoever! Grin
