The whole kids can do it too and we can make it appropriate thing just isn't what happens in reality
It's always said that it's the fault of adults who allow their children to dress up in traditionally adult roles and clothes that some adults have inappropriate thoughts towards those children (pedophiles)
But the fact it gets said at all means we do know it's a bit like putting candy in front of a sugar addict - it's a bad idea
In a world where we didn't have such people perhaps we could do these things. But we don't.
Yes I completely agree the responsibility is on adults to not exploit regardless of what a child is doing or wearing but the reality is that they will and safeguarding our kids sometimes means we can't normalise things and make them clean and appropriate for children
