" Big businesses helped kill the Texas bathroom bill two years ago, targeting it as discriminatory and unnecessary.

They said the legislation, which would have required Texans to use the restrooms that match their sex at birth, would have hampered efforts to woo new companies to the state and turned off convention planners and sports leagues looking at venues for events.

Now, some companies are doubling down on that commitment, citing diversity and inclusivity as factors in their decisions. Apple made this clear Thursday, when it announced a $1 billion investment in the capital city.

The bathroom bill, or something like it, may be back when state lawmakers meet in 2019. But opponents of these restroom regulations say the business community will again give them the ammunition they need to shoot down such divisive legislation.

What this thread has demonstrated is that part of the reason TRAs have been so successful is that their campaigning has handed angry misogynistic men a convenient stick to beat women with. The more women who notice that the better, so well done, today's MRA guest.

HAH!

I was digging through a report on crime (mostly committed by men, directed mostly at race, although sexual orientation is second) and found this gem:

"There was also an unusual case of an anti-male crime following a traffic accident involving a white female and a white male driver. The female suspect told the victim, “I hate men. If I had a knife, I would kill you.” She punched the victim in the left shoulder."

No other crime included that level of detail. Man bites dog, as they say.

Mr PJ, us pesky women are not just being childish or silly when penises invade our spaces. We have very real reasons for not wanting uninvited cocks anywhere near us. And you treating us as if we're just a bunch of silly women who need to grow up makes you extremely unpopular around here.

Not just unpopular on FWR but also on Relationship board (not really MN etiquette to wake up old threads):

We had no idea PJ. Wow. We have never heard any of that before ever never ever.

Snigger.

I support you in your "should live in a castle" identity, Hestia! They tend to be a bit drafty though so you may also want to identify as wearing a lot of nice thick jumpers.

Living as a woman" refers to presenting oneself as a woman

They should say 'presenting as a woman' then, because otherwise they sound really really sexist.

Also (unless they're doing loads of unpaid care and housework over and above an under-renumerated role at work that they are rather overqualified for) it's probably inaccurate.

ClosdesMouches · 15/12/2018 00:26

Spot on, AAK. Handed down by TRAs and reading posts on this thread, displaying this level of misogyny is frightening. Especially when they deny their misogyny.

Behold my shocked face at the revelation that a sex buyer is 100% in support of women being forced to look at cocks when they don't want to.

8th rule of misogyny: Men are whatever men say they are and women are whatever men say they are.

On the behalf of the feminist hivemind I now label Bowl Awesome Scientist Fem.

Totally shocked that grabbing a woman's skull and forcibly manipulating it would be the first thing that would pop into the head of such a lovely person.

So now our visitor has explained that it's just a male desire women have to be legally compelled to comply with against our will I think I will be retiring from this thread.

What an arse hole.

Bowlofbabelfish · 15/12/2018 00:33

To which Bowl should rightfully say...

Well I’m flattered Grin

But yeah, maybe that’s the next level of appropriation? To say one is a specific woman? That’s an uncomfortable thought

Sex buyer? Ah. You say upthread women don’t like you so much - do you have any insight as to why that might be?
