" Big businesses helped kill the Texas bathroom bill two years ago, targeting it as discriminatory and unnecessary.

They said the legislation, which would have required Texans to use the restrooms that match their sex at birth, would have hampered efforts to woo new companies to the state and turned off convention planners and sports leagues looking at venues for events.

Now, some companies are doubling down on that commitment, citing diversity and inclusivity as factors in their decisions. Apple made this clear Thursday, when it announced a $1 billion investment in the capital city.

The bathroom bill, or something like it, may be back when state lawmakers meet in 2019. But opponents of these restroom regulations say the business community will again give them the ammunition they need to shoot down such divisive legislation.

transgender people in a compassionate way and ensure they are able to be happy

Tell men it's time to welcome their unorthodox brethren.

There you go. Sorted. Kleenex hour over.

Sparkyduchess · 14/12/2018 23:34

What a load of specious nonsense.

I don’t want men in spaces where my safety or dignity would be compromised. Regardless of how someone identifies, sex change is impossible. Biology just is. Trans women are men.

IF you were to find irrefutable proof that sex change was possible I’d revisit.

TallulahWaitingInTheRain · 14/12/2018 23:34
Xmas Hmm
Bowlofbabelfish · 14/12/2018 23:34

First of all, I never said I was prepared to discuss science,

No? Ah well. Should you change your mind we have at least three career geneticists, a developmental biologist and multiple medics on the FWR board. Plenty of women’s studies academics too, who I’m sure would love you to opine on why their research is shit

We don’t want men in our single sex spaces. That’s the long and short of it. We say no. No isn’t the start of a negotiation. No isnt time to whine, nag, wheedle, argue or berate. If women say no and you continue to push, we have to ask why.

AngryAttackKittens · 14/12/2018 23:34

You will agree with me that the question is irrelevant

Did you see that, Bowl? You will agree, or else!

Male socialization is a hell of a drug.

AngryAttackKittens · 14/12/2018 23:36

(Offers Tallulah some popcorn, wonders if mince pies would be more seasonally appropriate. Not doing mulled wine because it gives me the boak.)

Womantheonlykind · 14/12/2018 23:38

You forgot dear

TallulahWaitingInTheRain · 14/12/2018 23:38

Oh gwan Wine

Think bowl won about 13 pages ago

I made mince pie flavoured popcorn one year... it was ok

AngryAttackKittens · 14/12/2018 23:39

Regular wine that's not polluted with extra sweetness is always available!

That sounds...odd. Like the Xmas tree flavored crisps that Iceland was selling, possible better in concept than in execution.

ClosdesMouches · 14/12/2018 23:40

You forgot dear

Yep.He hasn't repeatedly used 'dear' to try to bait anyone. Ever.
But he objected to being called 'mate'.
Hmm

They're not men.

What makes them women?

Womantheonlykind · 14/12/2018 23:41

This new argue nicely approach to persuade the meany wimmins is really failing when the urge to patronise and insist women just be nice (or else) just can't be quelled.

WE SEE YOU

Women's spaces are for women. Because we said so.

NO.

It is funny how people will assert things blindly to back up an anti-sex worker agenda.

Its quite common for people to assert things blindly when they have an agenda.

They're not men.

You previously said humans can’t change sex. Should you have evidence to the contrary you’ll be up for a Nobel.

No men in women’s spaces. No

Womantheonlykind · 14/12/2018 23:44

BAHAHAHAHA!

R0wantrees · 14/12/2018 23:45

I only made it once.. that's usually telling.

Bubonicpanic · 14/12/2018 23:46

So please explain the third sex that is not male or female as you keep writing they're not men.

Men are adult human males, women are adult human females. Trans identifying males are not female. So are they a third sex?

We are waiting?

Womantheonlykind · 14/12/2018 23:46

I am considering making mince pies this week but can't decide between puff pastry or shortcrust?
