The best research and advice is not to engage with community disruptors and trolls. As ever, if you suspect troll activity, report it to MNHQ.

This is a continuation of the first Public Service Announcement thread:

If and when you see threads plopped into FWR, especially a curious repeat of well worn topics, maybe check for poster history before engaging.

There are a number of posts/posters/threads that are reproduced on Twitter or Facebook to foment controversy using screen shots & flagging to either MNHQ to have threads or posters deleted. Sometimes, it’s used to approach commissioning editors with ideas for articles. It’s a tiresome tactic that we’ve had several community disruptor posters who themselves post the comments that they then highlight elsewhere as purported evidence of racism, religious intolerance, anti-men sentiments, or transphobia.

Taken at face value , I find the childishness of it all quite fascinating.

"Obvious screen-shot harvester is obvious" isn't quite as catchy as "obvious troll is obvious" but it fits the bill - and needs a meme of its own.

What a bizarre thread that was. I noted that it was only GC women offering compliments about transwomen they knew and the GF OP gave none whatsoever in the opposite direction.

It was obviously a fishing expedition - all credit to all those who engaged but remained tight-lipped.

I'm bewildered as to why people continue to engage with these threads.

I get sucked in Tinsel and have to remind myself to grey rock!. I did mean to comment before the thread was swiped, I knew it wouldn't take long.

My position for debate in general is to engage so to learn and try to influence others, I know it never gets me anywhere with these types of threads but it's a lifelong habit I'm trying to break!

Anyway. I'm thinking it may be lots to fun for certain parties to have a few "Americans deserve misery! Let's talk general American politics! Rehash 2016! Rehash the 1960s!" threads, but I'm not quite sure why that belongs in FWR? Unless of course the idea is to disrupt international alliances among women...
