Lily Madigan and the School Saga

Lily Madigan has been self-praising again, with more details about how they "sued" their school.

They hired a "team of solicitors", to "advice" Lily and the "principle" gave in on all their "demands".

The truth is slightly different.

Lily arrived at school wearing basically a boob tube. They were sent home because it was against uniform policy. Any girl wearing that for school would have been asked to change or go home. It's clear Lily was looking for a reason to kick things off.

Lily was not "made to wear a man's suit". They were asked to adhere to the school uniform - like any pupil. The girls wear a blazer too and can wear a skirt or trousers; many girls choose to wear trousers and the blazer.

Lily organised a petition. It was an ONLINE petition, quite different to a paper one. The support Lily claimed she had is very difficult to prove.

The school's staff tried very hard to placate Lily. They had meetings with their mother, the pastoral care team, etc - and got nowhere. It apparently caused distress to Lily's younger sister who was at school.

Lily contacted a solicitor in London. Because of the Equality Act the school did have to cater to transgender pupils - and when the school was informed of their obligations they changed their policy in accordance to the Act.

There was no suing of the school. There was no legal action, certainly no "legal battle", as Lily repeatedly claims.

There was no victimisation of Lily. Afterwards, the school said they had tried very hard for Lily and their words and actions had been deliberately twisted.

And now Lily still says that "they won", they "got it all", and that they did all this behind their parents' backs, and then "embarked on a media tour".

Lily's parents knew about it all, right from the day Lily was sent home.

Still doesn't explain why a "coming out" to Dad was needed...

Exactly... it's a load of lady bollocks isn't it?

NotANotMan · 28/12/2018 17:56

Well if Lily was indeed a lesbian then coming out would be quite reasonable. But, imagine the conversation- 'dad, I like girls' .......👀

HamiltonCork · 28/12/2018 17:57

The whole anecdote is more than likely made up as LM can’t go without a constant fix of attention/sympathy.

TinselAngel · 28/12/2018 17:58

Surely for there to be any "coming out" involved, LM's Dad must have previously thought LM was into men? So LM was really "coming out" as straight. Which is more going back in, than coming out. Hmm

PutYourShirtOnMartin · 28/12/2018 18:00

My DD did say 'coming out stories' were often discussed when she was younger. There seemed to be two sides... the 'Reasonable parent who accepts whatever ' side and the 'get ye out of the house and never darken my door again ' side... she said it was like top trumps with almost a competition running for best or worse experience.

And she went to Goldsmiths...😳

Knicknackpaddyflak · 28/12/2018 18:30

Times have changed. When I was sneaking along to my first LGB (as it was then) meetings in my teens back in the dark ages a standard joke if there was a lull in proceedings was 'well we could always sit around and tell our coming out stories' - said in tones of deep sarcasm with eye rolls and everyone would groan and hurriedly find something to do. Wallowing and self pity were not encouraged, those who did it were avoided, and there were some remarkably courageous people quietly dealing with some very tough circumstances in that room.

PutYourShirtOnMartin · 28/12/2018 19:03

It's oppression olympics now Knicknack..

They have nowt else to worry about... we had AIDS and the threat of nuclear annihilation...

DisrespectfulAdultFemale · 28/12/2018 19:19

I can just imagine the scene in the Madigan household:

LMadigan: Dad, I like girls.
Madigan Sr: That's nice.

FloralBunting · 28/12/2018 20:35

I remember the huge soul searching a friend of mine at secondary school went through when she joined the Christian Union, and built up her conversation with her mum about it like she was confessing to something dreadful. She came in on Monday morning looking rather deflated when the response had been along the lines of "Oh. Right. Put the milk back in the fridge."

Coming out as a heterosexual just doesn't have the outlandish, look at me character someone appears to think it does, much as saying you've joined the CU is about as straight and uninteresting as it gets.

dillydallyXX · 28/12/2018 22:13

Suddenly Madigan is a gym-goer, now that a trans-related gym story has been in the news. Madigan will piggyback anything to stay relevant.

"Working class", though...

"Working class", though...

Being called petit bourgeois clearly hit a nerve.

FloralBunting · 28/12/2018 22:23

It's that cap LM sometimes wears. It's reet working class.

Thanks for this - made me chuckle Grin

It's astonishing that Madigan's twitter is full of gay stuff, they are called "lesbianleftie", they stand as LGBT Officer more than once, they even simulate fellatio in one photo, and yet only know, suddenly, there is a dramatic coming out to their father.

It's so astonishing I almost don't believe it Grin

So I thought these accusations of constant lying were unfair. I thought the conversation with her dad, in particular his reaction sounded plausible.

Then she clearly makes up stuff like this on twitter. Other than a terrible memory, not sure how she can explain it.

Lil's political ambitions may be thwarted because full-time posts in student unions and the NUS are diminishing. Many's the politician that has cut her/his teeth at University and benefitted from sabbaticals to let off hot air in empty rooms as an officer of the NUS.

Tough measures are needed to stave of bankruptcy, reduce the wage bill and reduce activities. Despite the outrage from activists, it looks like 'liberation' posts will be ditched (women's officer, trans officer, LBGT officer, BME, disabled etc). Bad news for a woman who possibly considers herself eligible for three out of five national posts.

dillydallyXX · 28/12/2018 23:17

well Madigan certainly does have "political ambitions". Check out their latest Twitter bio!

I love that Lily's web presence is a page where you can give Lily money.

HamiltonCork · 28/12/2018 23:41

Future prime minister???? Lm is so fucking thick - does this lazy, talentless, thick, charisma free zone think that people would, en masse, vote for her?

RedToothBrush · 28/12/2018 23:43

I'd like Lily to talk about what it's like to be a very small petite woman (as in 5') and not get taken as seriously as bigger women or 6'2" men and the impact that physical presence has on social situations.

Or I'd like Lily to talk about being in a room of women who have very young kids and how they sympathise with them about getting baby brain and how sexist it is not to formally recognise it as a proper medical condition which women should get doctors notes for in extreme circumstances.

Or I'd like to talk about their fears about trampolining after childbirth.

Or I'd like to talk about travelling alone as a single woman, and how incredibly dangerous it is and how every says how brave it is to do it and how they'd love to but are too scared. And how they were assaulted in a hostel dormitory one time and assaulted in the toilets in another and on a third occasion had someone go nuts at them and follow them into the changing rooms for 'leading them on'

Or I'd like Lily to talk about their fear that they will hit the glass ceiling especially if they have kids and ponder whether getting a degree is really worthwhile with this in mind as they'll probably end up the one doing the childcare anyway. L

Or I'd like lily to talk about how they fear they will be judged on their sexiness over and above their intellitual ability.

Or I'd like Lily to talk about how they suspect Greg Wallace googles his own name.

Is there anything you'd like Lily to talk about on twitter?

Anyone?

SirVixofVixHall · 28/12/2018 23:44

Can we please stop using the word “her”. It makes me cringe even seeing it in print.

SirVixofVixHall · 28/12/2018 23:45

I’d like to talk to LM about why LM hates women.

HamiltonCork · 28/12/2018 23:46

I use “her” so it doesn’t get deleted. I don’t actually believe it. I’m angry that I’m forced to lie.
