Lily Madigan and the School Saga

Lily Madigan has been self-praising again, with more details about how they "sued" their school.

They hired a "team of solicitors", to "advice" Lily and the "principle" gave in on all their "demands".

The truth is slightly different.

Lily arrived at school wearing basically a boob tube. They were sent home because it was against uniform policy. Any girl wearing that for school would have been asked to change or go home. It's clear Lily was looking for a reason to kick things off.

Lily was not "made to wear a man's suit". They were asked to adhere to the school uniform - like any pupil. The girls wear a blazer too and can wear a skirt or trousers; many girls choose to wear trousers and the blazer.

Lily organised a petition. It was an ONLINE petition, quite different to a paper one. The support Lily claimed she had is very difficult to prove.

The school's staff tried very hard to placate Lily. They had meetings with their mother, the pastoral care team, etc - and got nowhere. It apparently caused distress to Lily's younger sister who was at school.

Lily contacted a solicitor in London. Because of the Equality Act the school did have to cater to transgender pupils - and when the school was informed of their obligations they changed their policy in accordance to the Act.

There was no suing of the school. There was no legal action, certainly no "legal battle", as Lily repeatedly claims.

There was no victimisation of Lily. Afterwards, the school said they had tried very hard for Lily and their words and actions had been deliberately twisted.

And now Lily still says that "they won", they "got it all", and that they did all this behind their parents' backs, and then "embarked on a media tour".

Lily's parents knew about it all, right from the day Lily was sent home.

Madigan truly is brain-dead. 1) They tweet out lies. 2) They twist and squirm when challenged. 3) They get aggressive. 4) They screech "transphobia"

So tragic it is funny.

Given what's happening in Canada with a quite alarming person who claims trans status, it's no surprise that using it as a 'get-out-of-jail-free-card is happening in this case.

vivariumvivariumsvivaria · 26/12/2018 16:01

That reads like something Ali G would say..."is it cos I is black?"

No, love, it's not.

And you're not.

You are, however, a grade A eejit.

VickyEadie · 26/12/2018 16:04

vivariumvivariumsvivaria

I also called Ali G to mind when I read LM's response.

DisrespectfulAdultFemale I know where you are coming from, perhaps it's an American import, they are very individualistic hence the massive focus on the nuclear family and their obsession with marriage (we don't tend to marry as readily as they do, especially not multiple marriages). They are fairly mobile within a huge country which adds to the rootlessness. Plus they are constantly sold to and lied to and misinformed - I do feel sorry for Americans quite often. However they certainly fall into the pick n mix voter category. Fairly ironic considering their glacially slow government and their absolute binary in terms of parties...
Knicknackpaddyflak you reflect my more optimistic views! I do think career politicians have a lot to answer for. They don't seem to have any strongly held beliefs in anything, and it makes me distrust them more than someone who might hold views I disagree with. At least with the latter you know where you stand.

LordProfFekkoThePenguinPhD · 26/12/2018 16:26

What was Richards answer to that??

morningtoncrescent62 · 26/12/2018 18:29

"Maybe read up on the GDPR and learn to be a better person".

OK, I've done what Madigan suggested, and read up on the GDPR and I declare myself re-educated on all things trans (which of course is what the GDPR is all about). I hereby renounce my former terfish ways and resolve never to think another gender critical thought. I'm about to hotfoot it onto the twitter account of that know-nothing wastrel Martina Navratilova and bully her until she squeals hold her to account for her small but accurate contribution to debate transphobic rant. After all, with my amazing victory OK then, I came third in the Lower Junior Egg and Spoon Race c.1970 I'm ideally qualified for the job. Doesn't she know who I am? Once I've done that I'll find out who all the GC professors are within 100 miles of where I live and go and smear urine on their doors. Yep, reading the GDPR has certainly made me a more decent human being.

When all that's done, I'll identify as an 8-year-old and demand that my local primary school lets me relive my Egg and Spoon glory days. Second thoughts, I might have trouble even picking up the egg let alone running 100 yards so I think I'll just demand they recognise me as the winner. I can't wait for Pink News to applaud my bravery and stunningness.

DisrespectfulAdultFemale · 26/12/2018 18:32

But before you do all that, mornington, please make sure that you change your name and threaten legal action against anyone who uses your deadname.

Hi

YeOldeNameChange · 26/12/2018 19:05

“Obsess over me”
Yeah you wish
Laughing at you isn’t obsessing over you mate.

VickyEadie · 26/12/2018 19:08

"Gayest year yet". Must mean in the old-fashioned sense, cos that person sure ain't gay in the sense I know it.

dillydallyXX · 26/12/2018 19:15

Well, Madigan sure is gay in the sense I know it. As I've thought right from the beginning, ever since Madigan came out on the scene, Madigan will one day desist and live life as a gay man. 100% convinced of this.

OP posts:
VickyEadie · 26/12/2018 19:25

Purports to like women, though...

dillydallyXX · 26/12/2018 19:33

yes, that's true - but it's like many gay men who have predominantly or exclusive female friends. It's just my opinion though. My assessment is that Madigan is very messed up, with a very masculine brother and father, and was unable to come out. It's just like an episode of "Transition Street" on ITV earlier this year, where a guy began living as a woman, and this transperson had a father who said he could accept his son being trans but never being a gay guy.

OP posts:
FloralBunting · 26/12/2018 19:36

Well, you can't collect the gay badge for your oppression collection if you identify as a woman and sleep with men. It's against party rules. But I'm sure when the time comes to work towards the 'pan' badge, LM may well branch out.

dillydallyXX · 26/12/2018 19:43

But perhaps Madigan is asexual.

They are very listless. The Vogue video Madigan has zero oomph. They are very very awkward in tweets when anyone has mentioned their penis. And when discussing sex Madigan almost gets over-excited and childlike, and screeching "hypersexualising me" etc etc.

Barbara Windsor said in an interview that Kenneth Williams was like that whenever sex or intimacy came up in a general conversation.

OP posts:
FloralBunting · 26/12/2018 19:48

Yeah, well, this is where I bail, tbh. I think LM is a egotistical little twerp, but I'm not really comfortable dissecting h** proclivities. Suffice it to say LM appears to be a very troubled person which does not absolve them from being a monumental attention vampire, but the blame really lies with their enablers higher up.

WomanOfTime · 26/12/2018 20:30

Madigan calling us all middle-class. Further proof that Madigan knows nothing about a) Mumsnet or b) how class analysis works.

Sorry Lily dearie, you're middle-class. There's nothing wrong with that, except when you deny it and pretend you can speak for working-class people at all. Most of us laugh at your ridiculous identity politics.

OnTheDarkSideOfTheSpoon · 26/12/2018 20:45

I’m with you floral. Discussing LM’s politics, lies, hounding of women etc are fair game given it has an tangible effect but I think it’s unnecessary to comment on the personal.

DisrespectfulAdultFemale · 26/12/2018 20:52

I'm with you, floral. I have no interest in Madigan's sexual orientation and don't feel it's relevant to the issue at hand.

sorenipples · 26/12/2018 21:30

Also no desire to discuss Lily's sexuality. Indeed if she continues to have no position in the Labour party (do not count a university position, what goes on in student politics stays in student politics -or at least did in the olden days ) and if she were to take a break from the media and harassing women in positions of influence I'd gladly ignore her like I'm sure I do many other politician wannabes.

As I've said before, my main interest is how this reflects on the Labour party ; the fact a major political party would promote someone who has behaved as she has is astounding. But maybe they have silently backed away -she wore a momentum not labour t shirt to vogue, and now she doesn't even refer to being a momentum member in her bio.

morningtoncrescent62 · 26/12/2018 21:42

what goes on in student politics stays in student politics -or at least did in the olden days

This is a large part of the problem, I think. Student politics doesn't stay there these days, thanks to twitter - young people who have a lot to learn about how to conduct themselves now have access to national platforms and either the adults haven't caught up, or are so worried about being seen as exclusionary that they collude. I'm possibly being hopelessly optimistic here, but I hope that this latest tweet of of Madigan's will be a wake-up call to Labour Party leadership, since it does seem that a lot of party members are reporting it both through party channels and to the ICO. If the grown-ups don't get a grip now, the problem of stupid people bringing the party into disrepute will only get worse.

dillydallyXX · 26/12/2018 22:51

Discussing LM’s politics, lies, hounding of women etc are fair game given it has an tangible effect but I think it’s unnecessary to comment on the personal.

The personal is part of the lies though. As soon as Madigan received criticism from gay feminists about their actions as CLP Women's Officer in Kent, Madigan announced they were a lesbian. Madigan did this in the full knowledge it would needle women. IMO it's further evidence of their misogny.

OP posts:
FloralBunting · 26/12/2018 23:41

Yes, and I'm quite content to critique the ridiculous pretensions of someone claiming to be a lesbian who clearly is not, for reasons which I can't openly acknowledge here without a deletion.

It's the delving into whether the person in question is asexual, listless or even childlike in their sexuality which steps over a line for me.

Evidently, they are not a lesbian, as they do not actually belong to the sex class that is a necessary pre-requisite. Further than that, I do not care to speculate.
