Lily Madigan and the School Saga

Lily Madigan has been self-praising again, with more details about how they "sued" their school.

They hired a "team of solicitors", to "advice" Lily and the "principle" gave in on all their "demands".

The truth is slightly different.

Lily arrived at school wearing basically a boob tube. They were sent home because it was against uniform policy. Any girl wearing that for school would have been asked to change or go home. It's clear Lily was looking for a reason to kick things off.

Lily was not "made to wear a man's suit". They were asked to adhere to the school uniform - like any pupil. The girls wear a blazer too and can wear a skirt or trousers; many girls choose to wear trousers and the blazer.

Lily organised a petition. It was an ONLINE petition, quite different to a paper one. The support Lily claimed she had is very difficult to prove.

The school's staff tried very hard to placate Lily. They had meetings with their mother, the pastoral care team, etc - and got nowhere. It apparently caused distress to Lily's younger sister who was at school.

Lily contacted a solicitor in London. Because of the Equality Act the school did have to cater to transgender pupils - and when the school was informed of their obligations they changed their policy in accordance to the Act.

There was no suing of the school. There was no legal action, certainly no "legal battle", as Lily repeatedly claims.

There was no victimisation of Lily. Afterwards, the school said they had tried very hard for Lily and their words and actions had been deliberately twisted.

And now Lily still says that "they won", they "got it all", and that they did all this behind their parents' backs, and then "embarked on a media tour".

Lily's parents knew about it all, right from the day Lily was sent home.

You can get communist manifesto free online...

Annandale · 26/11/2018 22:49

There are also socialist facilities called libraries.

KayM2 · 26/11/2018 22:53

I'm with Annandale on this; it isn't a big story that is well known to the public I believe. It is seriously demotivating some Labour Party members, though.

littlbrowndog · 26/11/2018 23:03

It’s cos they have no,relation at all to us women doing just ordinary jobs and ordinary families
Corbyn doesn’t even see. Us the ordinary ppl
Doing ordinary things
We see him as being a posh bloke pretending to be like us yet he never has had a job never had to worry about paying for school dinners
He just flopping about taking the wages
I can’t tell you how much he is out of touch with the ordinary ppl and he would never listen to the ordinary ppl
I kinda think he would care much more for Palestine ppl than for the ordinary ppl in his own country
But then he can’t be seen having a pictur3 opportunity with us cos his mates don’t rate us as being exciting enough
We just dull,

littlbrowndog · 26/11/2018 23:03

People people. Ffs

littlbrowndog · 26/11/2018 23:04

I annoy myself sometimes

Fallingirl · 27/11/2018 00:26

I don’t know how much the wider public is paying attention to the labour party’s odd treatment of women, but I know some women who resigned their membership over the ‘suck my pickled balls’ or whatever the exact wording was from one of the newer brave and stunnings in the party.

What finally tipped me over the edge, and I’m saying this as a life-long socialist, towards thinking a labour government would actually be worse for the most vulnerable women in society, was Corbyn proudly promising to change the equality act, if elected. He made the promise at an lgbtfunction, forgotten wether it was a Bonerwall orPinknews event, but given the setting, he must have meant to remove ‘sex’ as a protected characteristic altogether. So any and all single sex spaces would become illegal. If they had organised a working group to come up with ideas for how to most profoundly screw over women, they could not have come up with a better plan.

The drip drip drip effect.

Also losing activists is hugely important when it comes to leaflet drops, door knocking or just generally getting feedback from certain social circles.

Labour are heavily reliant on activists at election time whereas the Conservative Party do lots more centralised Mail outs.

I know that the loss of just one active member in an area can mean hours extra work for other volunteers.

Driving out even a small number of women in a marginal seat or making them consider staying home or voting differently is stupid. The last election was won by surprisely few votes in marginal seats.

Worth thinking about this too
The 2017 general election also saw an increase in very marginal seats. Eleven seats were won by less than 100 votes. North East Fife was held by the SNP by just two votes. Such are the vagaries of the system that the Conservatives could have won an absolute majority on the basis of just 533 extra votes in the nine most marginal constituencies. A working majority could have been achieved on just 75 additional votes in the right places. Two very different outcomes based on less than 0.0017 percent of voters choosing differently.

And

The increasing geographical concentration of votes means many more votes going to waste. This is particularly an issue for the Labour Party who hold 34 of the 35 safest seats. Overall, 3,515,872 Labour votes in Labour winning constituencies did not go towards electing the Parliamentary Labour Party (an average of 13,419 wasted Labour votes per seat)

Those Labour activists outside the core Labour areas are hugely important.

@Fallingirl
Would you be able to find a reliable source for that?
I try to share significant info with friends and family but always have to provide hard evidence.
If that is true it is very scary.
Thanks.

Fallingirl · 27/11/2018 02:59

@endofthelinefinally

Pilgrim Tucker tweeted about it back in October, and Pink News had the story about Corbyns speach. The part about the equality act is just mentioned in passing, as if it weren’t terribly important!

Thank you.

R0wantrees · 27/11/2018 08:20

I find the Pink News dynamic in that article and others really interesting.

simplistically:
Gay men celebrate straight man's commitment to push forward further rights of a small group of males with a specific gender identity to trample on women's sex-based rights & safeguarding frameworks.

R0wantrees · 27/11/2018 08:26

or straight man gains approval of gay men's support of males with a specific gender identity to trample on women's sex-based rights and safeguarding frameworks.

LangCleg · 27/11/2018 08:58

Yes. My CLP is GC but too cowardly to pass a motion to that effect lest it come under fire from outside-CLP activists and compliance. Strong reason why I decided to leave in the end.

Labour has more money swishing around than it used to thanks to the leadership election member swell but even so, a lot that would have otherwise gone directly to the party is going to Momentum.

dillydallyXX · 27/11/2018 09:19

But regarding Lily Madigan, isn't the main point this?

Lily sees Labour as her substitute family. Lily wants a career in politics, by way of Labour. Her claim to fame is her trans identity and the fact she "sued" her school.

But the truth about what actually happened is much, much, much less that what Lily is claiming online and in speeches and meetings across the country.

So the way to expose Lily and minimise her appeal is to challenge her narrative with the actual facts. Then people will see her for what she is: a flaky liar, an "agitator" who exists for stirring up trouble.

dillydallyXX · 27/11/2018 09:32

Case in point: Lily is still claiming and tweeting that she is a Women's Officer in Labour.

She isn't.

She lost the election in Lewisham. She has a post at Goldsmith's that she "won" - but no one else ran in the contest.

It's just lies and smoke and mirrors all the time

ellen don’t forget we are not allowed to use those words

OnTheDarkSideOfTheSpoon · 27/11/2018 14:15

No-one's pointed out that LM's not a Women's Officer in Labour (at least not in response to that tweet) so perhaps that's how LM gets away with it!

dillydallyXX · 27/11/2018 14:24

Maybe Lily actually thinks, in her head, she is still the Women's Officer. Mentally, she can't handle rejection.

I know. Sorry to be headgirl-like but I worry that some people (not you I'm sure) post stuff that MN will have to delete but not before those same people have done screenshots of it to prove that this is a hotbed of hatred.

I use "they" because I won't go further than that to appease those who seek to silence us.
