Victoria's secret: "we absolutely would cast a transgender model in our show."

If VS follow through on their capitulation and subsequent bootlicking of the TRA community and send a trans model down the runway, once the men leering over the models realise, things will get interesting quickly.

"The problem though is that actual human girls will see this. And when they see someone with a male's body fat percentage and breasts, they will wonder why they don't (can't) look like that."

And the answer is, becasue they're men.

Really the fashion indsustry's fixation with models who are built way more like lanky teen boys but with tits stuck on is a bit odd.

NothingOnTellyAgain · 11/11/2018 14:21

So actually rather than scouring the earth for women who are built pretty unusually who then starve themselves half to death, men could be used instead.

Wouldn't bother me at all.

Plus a lot of the time the "fashion" seems to be ridiculing rather than uplifting the models so again I'm all for men being the ones to get to do that!

As NothingOnTellyAgain indicates - girls and women will finally know the truthful answer - you can't trump genetics...And couture fashion has for a long time been obsessed with designing for a certain desexualised cum androgynous frame and look.

Tag line- Victoria has a new secret.

Gold 😁

"Go ahead and take over every space men have created for women and stay out of all the spaces women created for ourselves."

As opposed to looking at the "actual human girls" in their class, school, friends group, family" and realising "actual human girls" are all sorts of shapes and sizes.

You don't credit "actual human girls" with much intelligence do you?

Notacluewhatthisis · 11/11/2018 14:32

I only wear victoria secret under wear.

Because they are the only bras that ever feel comfy and keep my boobs, that I actually like.

I am very vocal about trans women and their impact on women. However, I imagine trans women are as likely you wear victoria secret underwear, as a woman is.

What I do find off is that I easily for in VS knickers and bras and am a size 16. They cater to bigger women than you see on the catwalk. Why would they be happy with a trans woman, but not have larger models, despite catering to them.

NothingOnTellyAgain · 11/11/2018 14:33

WTF Lass that isn't my post.

You always seem to pick up things I say on threads, I'm not on here that often any more.

This time it's not even something I said!

Christs sake.

sackrifice · 11/11/2018 14:35

And reading that post again,

It's well proven that exposing girls to unrealistic images of women and girls constantly has an undermining effect on their psyche, isn't it?

They even showed that girls (and probably boys as well which is a growing but still not as big problem) who were told / aware that pictures had been photoshopped, still had a reduced self esteem after looking at them.

I don't know if the person who actually wrote that post has anything to add.

Your habit of picking on posters and then going on at them on threads - trying to start personal arguments - rather than engaging with the whole conversation is upleasant.

LassWiADelicateAir · 11/11/2018 14:41

I have no idea who you are. I have just read your username. I didn't even look at it before. I don't look at user names.

I still have no idea who you are. I have no recollection of ever speaking directly to you or of reading any posts made by you.

LassWiADelicateAir · 11/11/2018 14:46

Is it ? Or is that the rad fem mantra? because part of the rad fem mantra is certainly based on the assumption women and girls can't think for themselves unless a rad fem points it out.

NothingOnTellyAgain · 11/11/2018 14:47

You're doing it right now lol

NothingOnTellyAgain · 11/11/2018 14:49

Your very first post on the thread was to jump in, tag me, and tell me I have no respect for young women because of something someone else said.

I pointed that out and you are still on at me.

What do you think of the OP? That is what the rest of us are discussing.

I note you also don't acknowledge that you challenged me and tagged me on something that wasn't even one of my posts.

NothingOnTellyAgain · 11/11/2018 14:50

Not tagged - bolded me shoutliy.

What do you think of the OP?

What do you have to say about jumping in shouting my name and accusing me of having no respect for young women based on something posted by someone else?

LassWiADelicateAir · 11/11/2018 14:53

Your habit of picking on posters and then going on at them on threads - trying to start personal arguments - rather than engaging with the whole conversation is upleasant

You are being ridiculous. Every one quotes posters and refers to the poster who made the post

As for picking on you. I have no idea who you are. Your username rings no bells at all.

Ereshkigal · 11/11/2018 14:53

Lass misread that you were quoting Frumpytrumpy's post.

NothingOnTellyAgain · 11/11/2018 14:56

I didn't say that though. As Ereshkigal also points out - someone else said it.

What do you think of the OP lass, what's your view on the matter at hand?

NothingOnTellyAgain · 11/11/2018 14:57

And the fact you're still misattributing it means that you're not even bothering to read my posts, as I've pointed out repeatedly that wasn't my post.

Interesting.

NothingOnTellyAgain · 11/11/2018 14:58

Lass - tell us what you htink of the OP.

That is the conversation the group is having.

LassWiADelicateAir · 11/11/2018 14:59

I have no opinion whatsoever on the opening post. I couldn't care less.

I see you were actually quoting another poster but as the normal convention is to bold it I missed it. I apologise for that.

However I found your egotistical , hyperbolic rant that I seek your posts out extremely offensive. To burst your bubble of ego I don't recognise your name.

LassWiADelicateAir · 11/11/2018 15:05

Lots of demands there Nothing I expect I won't be seeing an apology for your offensive comments that I'm looking out for your username to comment on.

Is it too difficult to believe that nothing you have ever said made any impression sufficient for your name to stick in my mind?

NothingOnTellyAgain · 11/11/2018 15:11

"I have no opinion whatsoever on the opening post. I couldn't care less."

Righty-ho.

So you decided to read the thread through anyway and see if you could find someone to violently disagree with?

It's not my preferred use of MN but OK Grin

NothingOnTellyAgain · 11/11/2018 15:14

By the way my take was that I say things that you take offence at more than others, not that you are stalking me Grin

In this case it wasn't even something I said though which is new.

I have been here for yonks and am well used to your views - it is no worry to me that you disagree with lots of what I say. A good thing, even.
