Pile on by TRAs

I am in the middle of a pile on by TRA's on Twitter.

I am not comfortable sharing my anonymous Twitter username on even here yet, but I wanted to ask, when trying to explain your viewpoint on feminism, and you become the subject of a pile on, what do you do?

I am stuck between not giving up, but the more I reply, the more of them pile on.

Help.

No explanation will be sufficient for those who have no wish to listen.

You've stated your position and I see no reason for you to engage further if you do not wish.

What arranfan says. Often it's best to just disengage. The TRAs on twitter can be relentless in their attacks.

I am not on Twitter but I would take the same approach as I do here: don't engage.

My philosophy is: don't get in the mud with a pig; you'll only get dirty and the pig will enjoy it.

Yes, politely disengage, your point is made. Block if necessary. Life is too short.

You will never convince those TRAs piling on to you but there may be silent observers who have taken something from what you have said and you have said it

Loving the pig analogy. OP you can't win with the terminally woke anyway so make your point and retreat unless they say anything worthy of response.

I agree with the above PPs, but just want to add “well done” for getting the TRAs rattled! They hate it when people produce rational arguments and scientific facts, as they have no answer. Hence their descent into bullying, abuse and attempts to silence you.
Maybe start another similar thread, so even more twitter users have the opportunity to see the TRAs in their full aggressive male rage mode?!

When I'm the focus of a pile on online I pick one person to reply too and ignore the rest.

I don't know if that would work with those lot though, they're a bit strange.

Yeah, LOL is quite good. Or go on the offensive and ask them questions to justify their position instead of defending. Even just why do you say that, or say more about that etc.

I have a cis guy telling me women arent oppressed and death threats are part of every day life

I have 2 cis women telling me I am 'gatekeeping womanhoood' and we dont stand to lose anything by extending rights

I have one TRA being smiley and 'pigeon chess'-y (thanks for the analogy) telling me I got 'owned'

I would recommend listening to "Louder with Crowder" to get tips on effective debating. There is one where he debates a TRA and he just politely says "I understand your position. My position is that that is child abuse". It is much more effective than indirect statements/analogies/expressions of shock, etc,etc

sorry, should add (in case you are shocked) that he's a right wing zealot.

But it's much easier to learn how to debate by listening to someone you don't agree with than someone you do agree with (I think so anyway)

I talk to the lurkers in situations like this and ignore the ludicrous/goady posts.
