There was a Facebook page "transanarchist sadgirl" that was heaving with disturbing stuff. Especially surrounding the furries. There's sure some weird fetishes out there.

👀

KatVonGulag · 08/11/2018 23:11

It got shut down at least.

Noqont · 08/11/2018 23:24

It's pretty revolting.

silentcrow · 08/11/2018 23:31

I hope he can now make the connection as to why parents link anime to ROGD. There's some fantastic anime and manga out there but I'm well aware of how deep that rabbit hole goes (it was pretty darn sick when I first encountered it 20-odd years ago). I try and read/watch as much as possible, but I happen to enjoy it and it's part of my job. I can't imagine how parents keep track otherwise, discerning the benign from the dodgy isn't easy at a glance.

WTFIsAGleepglorp · 08/11/2018 23:31

It's disappointing that, once again, it takes a man to say something before people take notice.....

IHATEPeppaPig · 08/11/2018 23:49

Urgh. I had no idea that anime and furries were like this- revolting. It's hiding in plain sight - what the actual fuck.....

theOtherPamAyres · 09/11/2018 00:10

"Acceptance without exception" - isn't that Stonewall's motto?

There have been lone LBG voices expressing their disquiet about embracing the 'Kink' Community (furry, fetish, paraphilia, voyeurism, sado-machoism and other -isms). Both Jess Bradley and Aimee Challoner were both very keen to ensure that they were lining up this next 'most oppressed and marginalised' group of heterosexual men once the GRA reforms were in the bag. I wonder why?

I see that the LBGT Foundation (Manchester based health and support service) advertises its regular Kink Nights where men people can explore their private world in a safe space. The aim is to make their sexual experiences more enjoyable but the obligatory lube and safe sex messages are included.

I wonder whether the hard-pressed local authorities and NHS trusts in Greater Manchester ever look at some of the projects that they fund and ask WTF? Just because it's got LBGT in the title doesn't make it progressive or an appropriate way to spend taxes, surely?

Is this another example of infiltration?

LBG's flirtation with the Paedophile Information Exchange in the 1970s is being resurrected in the media. It's inclusion of people with trans-related paraphilia, furries and fetishes will come back to bite them on the arse, unless they act soon. Is there nothing that they won't accept without exception?

FloralBunting · 09/11/2018 00:31

I keep saying this, but I am really worried for the safety of the wider LGB community because of this stuff being pushed with such enthusiasm by certain inexplicably influential people.

Run of the mill people on the street are eventually going to notice this and they will not be lovey dovey accepting of cutesy self expression when it clearly involves thinly disguised paedophilia. And because these lunatics have entwined themselves into places like Stonewall and other organizations that have previously had rightfully progressive attitudes towards LGB people, LGB people are going to be lumped in with the creeps, and people really don't play nice when they think you mess with kids. FFS, section 28 was all about the phantom fear that 'gayness' can 'infect' kids - and now there are devious bastards actually attempting to shove all manner of hideous stuff under gay wrappings.

As much as Tatchell is rightly being excoriated for the paedophilia apologism now, he will be defended by progressives, and the public will not see nuance there. They will just think the ultra conservatives were right all along, the left is eating itself, no decent person supports paedophilia, etc. and lesbians and gays will be back to bloody square one.

Noqont · 09/11/2018 00:53

I hope you're wrong floral.

ohello · 09/11/2018 07:05

One minor quibble... I suspect the public will turn quite viciously on gay men, not lesbians. And well... they sorta did it to themselves by allowing the wolves in the door without thinking things through, and by ignoring the lesbians who have been screaming bloody murder about these issues for decades.

Men don't care about me? Well then, I don't care about them.

I know a male furry who also subscribes to the "terfs should die in a fire" school of thinking".

Oh, and he considers himself a liberal.

nellodee · 09/11/2018 07:24

I've just had my own revelation - the anime thing is why so many MtF come from tech backgrounds. Its the geek anime link.

FermatsTheorem · 09/11/2018 07:32

ohello you're so right about abortion SadAngry. One of the less reported aspects of the mid terms was a couple of states having votes (which passes) with really Draconian restrictions on abortion. In the past they would almost certainly have been struck down by SCOTUS using Roe v Wade but I think in the present climate they've cynically been put forward as stalking horses to provoke the test case which will be used to overturn RvW now Trump has packed the court with ultra right misogynists.

TwoGinScentedTears · 09/11/2018 07:40

Woah, wtf? I have a geek/techy teenager that loves anime. What fresh hell is this? And what should I be doing aside from talking to him and making sure he stays safe on line? He's far more able than I am in terms of tech and whilst he hasn't got round the filters we've set on the internet I have no doubt at all that he could.

TimeLady · 09/11/2018 07:54

Interesting article

Thank you for posting this. It's always a relief when another person gets it.

Serfisafleur · 09/11/2018 08:07

So "furry" doesn't actually mean "I like to pretend to be a cat or bear and do hugs and stroking" like you'd think at all.

It's actually code for I get off on child sex abuse.

Fucking hell.

Serfisafleur · 09/11/2018 08:08

I had no fucking idea.

How can we shout about this? I am not sending my MP images of cat porn.

Needmoresleep · 09/11/2018 08:10

Twogin, I was also thinking about those geeky sixthformers and first year University students who head off to Comicon, whilst their peers are at festivals.

It had seemed quite sweet. Sad to know there is a very dark side.

Rufusthebewilderedreindeer · 09/11/2018 08:13

One minor quibble... I suspect the public will turn quite viciously on gay men

Are we treating gay men as another hive mind

Loads of people dont see what is going on, ds1 is very close to a few lesbian friends of his and all his information about self id etc is coming from me, these young women dont seem to know anything about it...same as the majority of the population

Its already filtering down that gay men liking penis is transphobic...but i think thats partly cos he is more informed than other young men

silentcrow · 09/11/2018 08:14

nellodee yup, this is how I knew what hentai was 20 years ago - went to uni with a load of boy geeks, most of whom went on to become system admins (I married one - part of his job is blocking other users from accessing this crap). It's very much more mainstream now and that Japanese penchant for schoolgirls has come to the fore.

Two it is hard, sympathy. All I can suggest is talking...show an interest, ask which series are good. And talk about healthy relationships. It's the same as you'd treat any fiction or TV, really, just that it tends to be on YouTube on a personal device rather than in Netflix in the living room and hence can go under the radar.

TwoGinScentedTears · 09/11/2018 08:15

Serfisafleur exactly.

He has mentioned furroesnto me and we've discussed kinks but in the context of some people like this and some people like that and it's ok to like weird things so long as it's consensual and not harmful etc., but I had no idea that there was this dark underside that I needed to talk to him about. Fucks sake.

TwoGinScentedTears · 09/11/2018 08:16

Terrible typing because I'm rushing. Sorry.

silentcrow yeah, that's been my approach so far, but I think I need to step it up a level based on this!
