God, how depressing. So this is what political debate has crumbled into in the 21st century. An over-indulged just-out-of-adolescent getting what they want by throwing a tantrum and threatening tears, with adults conniving in them being allowed to hide from any accountability for their actions (in this case misogynist tweets and taking on a job for which they were clearly utterly unqualified, yet expecting to face no consequences for those decisions by pleading that they needed a "safe space").
