Opening sequence got pretty much all the stereotypes in...

Now boy has ear to parents bedroom door

There's a lot of positive feedback on the #butterfly tag on Twitter though.

I'm not watching but I did have a quick look at Twitter. Much gushing from the usual suspects about turning point... brave and stunning blah blah, but not much from the alternative perspective. I take this to mean that most people have opted for The Cry. Or maybe an ancient 'Allo 'Also on Yesterday.

MrsToddsShortcut · 14/10/2018 21:53

The third rate drama feel isn't helped by the dreadful title card and awful synth soundtrack. It reminds me of S.W.A.L.K (If anyone remembers that) except Paula Mile was a much better writer.

ItsAllGoingToBeFine · 14/10/2018 21:53

And all he want to do is dance...

I am totally FURIOUS to hear that are portraying suicide on tv Angry

MrsToddsShortcut · 14/10/2018 21:53

Because boys hate dancing. I thought Billy Elliott was a turning point. Apparently not.

NotTerfNorCis · 14/10/2018 21:54

Didn't Jazz think they were gay in a past life? Didn't Jazz get emotional at not being accepted as gay during 'past life regression' hypnosis?

ItsAllGoingToBeFine · 14/10/2018 21:54

Also a girl thing obviously - his grandad needs to watch Billy Elliot with him

LizzieSiddal · 14/10/2018 21:54

Only black actor so far is a bullyHmm

Jodie777 · 14/10/2018 21:55

Lol, in the real world, those two boys would have beaten him up and the girl would have ran away/hid.

ItsAllGoingToBeFine · 14/10/2018 21:55

Like fuck would a sister think of her wee brother as her sister. That's one messed up family

IAmNotInvisible · 14/10/2018 21:55

My oldest did MJ dance lessons and loved them. Mind you, he also loved trans (music).

MrsToddsShortcut · 14/10/2018 21:56

Clunky script alert!!

'If you're not gay, what are you?'

'When people call you He sometimes, I see you flinch'

ItsAllGoingToBeFine · 14/10/2018 21:56

And now the skirt to school, because of course girls couldn't possibly wear trousers.

OP posts:
IAmNotInvisible · 14/10/2018 21:57

Anyone notice the subtle change in hairstyle?

Melamin · 14/10/2018 21:57

I watched a bit.

How many episodes are there?

ItsAllGoingToBeFine · 14/10/2018 21:57

Three episodes I think?

OP posts:
scotsheather · 14/10/2018 21:57

All the school girls wearing skirts from what I've seen. More stereotyping yeh.

ItsAllGoingToBeFine · 14/10/2018 21:58

Abusive father. Wee boy thinks his dad left cos of him being girly - dad said he did

OP posts:
ItsAllGoingToBeFine · 14/10/2018 21:59

Dad wrestling with his emotions in a manly way

OP posts:
NotTerfNorCis · 14/10/2018 21:59

So Max doesn't think he's gay. Wonder if he'll be attracted to men or women when he's older. I thought almost all transgirls who're diagnosed as children turn out to be attracted to men.

IAmNotInvisible · 14/10/2018 21:59

And sympathy vote shocker for the end, with no challenge from the mum.

Melamin · 14/10/2018 21:59

I thought that we were getting to a place where boys could have dancing lessons. Confused

ItsAllGoingToBeFine · 14/10/2018 22:00

And next week is all about the importance of puberty blockers.

Bluntness100 · 14/10/2018 22:00

I quite enjoyed it and thought it was quite good.
