Opening sequence got pretty much all the stereotypes in...

Mixed sex toilet space and he's having a connundrum.

ItsAllGoingToBeFine · 14/10/2018 21:23

And.... suicide

OP posts:
Moanella · 14/10/2018 21:24

Well, that moved quickly.

PencilsInSpace · 14/10/2018 21:25

Fucking hell.

ItsAllGoingToBeFine · 14/10/2018 21:26

I'm actually feeling angry at the blatant propaganda and manipulation here. And fucking Mermaids tweeting every five seconds about their helpline.

JillyArmeeen · 14/10/2018 21:26

I noticed she mentioned shopping in topshop.

1happyhippie · 14/10/2018 21:27

I'm watching. Sort of!
They've packed a lot into the first 30 mins!

NotTerfNorCis · 14/10/2018 21:27

Well this boy is certainly disturbed.

Not sure puberty blockers and surgery should be the first resort though.

Barracker · 14/10/2018 21:28

Irresponsible idiots.

I cannot believe they showed a scene where an 11 year old boy slashed his wrists.
Samaritans need to find their spine and condemn this awful, awful display of manipulative harmful propoganda.

ItsAllGoingToBeFine · 14/10/2018 21:28

I'm kicking myself that I didn't do a bingo card - mind you I'd have had full house in the first 30 minutes

OP posts:
IAmNotInvisible · 14/10/2018 21:28

More of a cry for help hoping his mum and dad will get back together though?

IdahoCrow · 14/10/2018 21:29

Isn't this going against all sensible advice on (not) publicising suicidal ideation?

ItsAllGoingToBeFine · 14/10/2018 21:29

Harrop: Absolutely outstanding so far. Such an accurate depiction of the real lived experience of trans children and young people experiencing gender identity issues. A triumph! #Butterfly #ButterflyEffect 🦋🌈👍

That escalated quickly.
He finds his uniform itchy, could be a sign of autism.

ItsAllGoingToBeFine · 14/10/2018 21:31

More of a cry for help hoping his mum and dad will get back together though

It's very odd - I really thought they would try and come up with some proper reasoning. So far to me it is screaming out that this kid needs some serious help, not that he is innately trans.

OP posts:
MrsToddsShortcut · 14/10/2018 21:31

Oh. I see. There are ways to 'be boys'. Who diagnosed him that quickly? Oh! Straight onto blockers.

ItsAllGoingToBeFine · 14/10/2018 21:31

I cannot believe that a GP would suggest gender dysphoria and blockers on a first appointment without having seen the child.

OP posts:
MrsToddsShortcut · 14/10/2018 21:32

We know that 90% of kids on puberty blockers go straight on cross sex hormones.

NotTerfNorCis · 14/10/2018 21:32

Nice young lady suggests puberty blockers.

To make later surgery possible.

No one is asking if anything else could be the issue.

Jodie777 · 14/10/2018 21:33

God, it's awful.

ItsAllGoingToBeFine · 14/10/2018 21:34

And now mother is talking about hormones in pregnancy...

OP posts:
IAmNotInvisible · 14/10/2018 21:34

It's getting almost unwatchable. I could have been watching The Cry if I didn't already know the ending ........

NotTerfNorCis · 14/10/2018 21:34

How many kids are going to watch this and start thinking they are trans? Girls that don't like pink and glitter, for instance?

This is dangerous stuff.

ItsAllGoingToBeFine · 14/10/2018 21:34

And now the mother is saying that she wanted a girl - FFS this is red flags all over the place.

OP posts:
scotsheather · 14/10/2018 21:34

They show the father being sensible (about blockers) and abusive at the same time, thats really sad.
