Thank you to fairplayforwomen for the helpful guidance.

It didn't take too long.

THERES ONLY A WEEK LEFT!!!

Do it today.

(Sorry can't link as I'm on my phone which keeps playing up!

Yep. Submitted it today.

EmeraldVillage · 13/10/2018 22:42

I’ve just done it.

I am used to dealing with technical legal and regulatory consultations but this was of a truly dreadful standard and the way you are meant to respond to poorly worded questions would be extremely offputting for the average member of the public. The Government Equalities Office should be ashamed of themselves.

I used the very helpful FPFW guide but had I seen the email option I’d have done that as it took a while.

whiteroseredrose · 13/10/2018 22:47

DH and I are doing it together tomorrow.

newtlover · 13/10/2018 23:34

well done people, our granddaughters thank you

EmeraldVillage · 14/10/2018 00:04

The more I think about the poorly drafted the questions the more annoyed I get.

This consultation is not on say the finer points on derivatives clearing or changes to man overboard drills where you could expect a relatively small well informed specialist audience. This consultation affects everyone and particularly women and so real efforts should have been gone to in order to make it easily accessible with clear questions in layman terms and straightforward to answer.

Oh unless of course you take the woke view that women’s rights are unaffected by these proposals and all it goes is help poor vulnerable trans people. Which text at the end frustratingly suggests is the government’s starting position.

Dommina · 14/10/2018 00:06

I have and am proud to have contributed my own views x

yellowplumpreserves · 14/10/2018 00:07

I’m British, but currently living abroad and based on Scotland when in the UK. Can I complete it? Is there a link?

Deathgrip · 14/10/2018 04:18

I’m worried they’ll discount the responses using the fpfw template - is that a possibility, does anyone know? Just concerned about lots of responses with the same text.

arranfan · 14/10/2018 09:21

Maybe email or tweet FPFW to ask that question.

And, FPFW would be delighted if you reworded your responses - they make suggestions but they'd be thrilled for you to re-write your own with maybe some examples that are meaningful to you?

Deathgrip · 14/10/2018 09:34

Sorry, I wasn’t talking about me using it - just concerned that others who’ve taken the time might have their responses removed if they’re seen as a copy and paste.

exLtEveDallas · 14/10/2018 09:39

I'm glad I did it last week, having a hell of a
Time getting onto the website now, even using 3G

GulagsMyArse · 14/10/2018 10:40

Jesus, I had this over half filled in to come back to and its lost all the info and says start again.

LizzieSiddal · 14/10/2018 14:28

Am just about to start mine and have used this thread for the links to FPFW guidance. Thank you!

fanomoninon · 14/10/2018 14:30

Did mine last week : dh is currently competing his and occasionally swearing...

LizzieSiddal · 14/10/2018 14:34

I cant get the guidance form FPFW site!

Their site is down!

fanomoninon · 14/10/2018 14:46

@LizzieSiddal - there is some confusion, as the FPFW site seems to be down on some servers but not others. Have you tried looking it up on your phone using mobile data rather than your wifi? We can't get it through Virgin wifi, but it's fine on dh's phone ...

daughterofanarchy · 14/10/2018 14:52

I’ve done mine.
I wanted DH to do it as well but he works in academia at a very “woke” university and doesn’t fully trust that respondents details won’t leak out one day.

newtlover · 14/10/2018 15:26

womansplaceuk.org/wpuk-guidance-on-gra-consultation/
if you can't get on the FPFW site (am I paranoid or is this getting suspicious?) this link will help

Sarahconnor1 · 14/10/2018 15:59

I did mine today.

What did people put about the 'non-binary' question? That was the only place where I went into what 'gender' actually means

I did similar and noting how all encompassing non binary could be. I suggested they would need a legal definition.

I also added a lot at the end about how I viewed the consultation to be utterly flawed.

Gronky · 14/10/2018 16:08

WIBU to not share the link with people who will probably give responses that I disagree with?

newtlover · 14/10/2018 16:12

no

ClocheEncounter · 14/10/2018 16:14

Done. In my own words. It takes ages doesn’t it?

Mumfun · 14/10/2018 16:15

yes Scotland residents can contribute. Done today from England!

ToeToToe · 14/10/2018 16:16

Finishing it off right now. Doing it in my own words, but the FPFW advice is very helpful.
