Aggressive Feminism Boards

I've been on this board for a while now and long enough to understand the issues and why women are so vocal about them and angry that our rights are threatened.
I'm frustrated reading on other threads, or on social media that this board is aggressive, shoots down discussion, and calls people names if their views don't match the majority. I can't say that I've seen that myself. All I see is intelligent discussion and persuasive arguments. Any goadiness is appropriately dealt with from what I've read as are any views that don't match reality. Maybe that's what upsets people: that their delusions are challenged with indisputable reality.
I'm still new to feminism and learning daily but I see women fighting for other women and prepared to get flak for that. I see some women who have been well and truly brainwashed by the trans movement and by men and the patriarchy in general. And that's the other criticism: that we are too focused on the trans issue. That makes me angry. The trans issue is the major one affecting women and girls at the moment and it's right that we are focused on it.
These complaints are coming from women who are calling themselves feminists and it baffles me completely that feminists can't understand the biggest threat to women and girls.
Now, I'm aware these so called feminists may well be trolls but I don't think they all are. How can some feminists be so opposed to other feminists passionately protecting their rights? Rights that are for ALL women.

We answered that pages back.

Won't see that though, as it's not the "right" answer.

BrownPaperTeddy · 07/10/2018 20:16

Why are we still discussing this ridiculous point 💁🏽‍♀️
No idea. Are you being forced to?

PersonWithAVulva · 07/10/2018 20:17

And I just find that unnecessary. If you need to differentiate that I personally think transwoman is enough.

Fair comment. I do think women are women and transwomen are transwomen. But if we are going on sex, then..

Xenia · 07/10/2018 20:17

There is a lot of good discussion. if people don't like the threads nothing stops them coming on here and starting their own thread on any feminism topic they want to.

Also being aggressive - what is wrong with that? Are we supposed to be simpering weak things in pink?

Rufusthebewilderedreindeer · 07/10/2018 20:17

What was the answer though?

Did anyone say it wasnt the right answer?

I bet there isnt an answer

If there was an actual answer it would be dead easy to link to

BrownPaperTeddy · 07/10/2018 20:17

Rufusthebewilderedreindeer

Because it is pages back. This discussion has been going on all day. Do you want an entire recap because you've only just come in?

It is there.

deepwatersolo · 07/10/2018 20:18

verbeena so if I do not buy into the whole Roman Catholic idea that priests are the middle man between man and God, and I think they are deluded to believe there is actually a God they speak to in their prayers, if in short, I do not buy into the self-identity of priests, that makes me priestophobic? Why? Not taking someone‘s self identity at face value does not equate to an irrational hatred for said person. It simply doesn‘t.

littlbrowndog · 07/10/2018 20:18

Lols Brown nopes I never found it

LangCleg · 07/10/2018 20:19

If believing human beings can't change sex is transphobic, I'm definitely transphobic.

Can we end the thread now?

pennydrew · 07/10/2018 20:19

No idea. Are you being forced to?

That actually wasn’t addressed to you. I’m genuinely asking others with similar views to mine.

BrownPaperTeddy · 07/10/2018 20:19

If there was an actual answer it would be dead easy to link to

Then feel free to. It isn't easy for me. I'm on my phone. If I leave a page to look back then I lose the post.

You can say it isn't there as much as you like. It won't change the fact that it is.

littlbrowndog · 07/10/2018 20:19

Naw and I have been following it
But jeez still sctraching my head at to what it is you want

Elephantinacravat · 07/10/2018 20:20

If believing human beings can't change sex is transphobic, I'm definitely transphobic.

This!

LangCleg · 07/10/2018 20:20

I might lurk and lurk and get post number 1,000. I'll just shout

WEETABIX

in a very aggressive manner.

BigChocFrenzy · 07/10/2018 20:21

"You have said you'll never see any of them as women. What's that then if you say it's not transphobia?"

No, that's the TRA / stonewall definition of transphobic
It's not the legal definition of hate speech and it's not the MNHQ definition - they delete pretty strictly here, but not for that

Repeating a mantra, whether religious, ploitical or trans - does not make it true

We are allowed to say transwomen are not women, that they are a subset of men
That's not phobic, that's scientific fact: they don't have the XX chromosones of women.

This is a fundamental disagreement and the cause of much strife:
you call us transphobic, some posters retaliate this time or next and the thread becomes very heated

Maybe change your definition of transphobia from the TRA one to the legal / MN one ?

Ereshkigal · 07/10/2018 20:21

DO IT. Like a snipe bid on Ebay!

BrownPaperTeddy · 07/10/2018 20:21

Lols Brown nopes I never found it

Sorry, can't help you then. Maybe look harder? Nit sure what else to say.

It is most definitely there because people commented on it.

littlbrowndog · 07/10/2018 20:22

Look I get it u don’t like wha5 is being discussed but hey start some threads urself

Crack on with it.
No needs to get pissed of with stuff here.
Change if u don’t like
Start a thread

PersonWithAVulva · 07/10/2018 20:22

I don't remember seeing it either...just in case you thought it was just you

To paraphrase, it seemed like the issue was about name calling. A poster tried to make the point of if 'libfems' stopped calling 'radfems' transphobic, then 'radfems' would stop calling 'libfems' transphobic. This was ignored over and over.

Then it seemed the issue was that there were too many trans threads. So the suggestion was made that the person who thinks there are too many trans threads is free to start threads on other topics.

Then the person who thinks there are too many trans threads said that they do not wish to post on FWR.

So it seems its a case of, I don't want to post here, but you should all be discussing something else.

Rufusthebewilderedreindeer · 07/10/2018 20:23

If there was an actual answer it would be dead easy to link to

Its easier if the person who wrote it linked...as at least they would have a clue as to where it was

But I appreciate that you might not be using the right tech at the moment

VerbeenaBeeks · 07/10/2018 20:24

What was the answer though?

They're there. Repeatedly.

Did anyone say it wasnt the right answer?
Well what else is it if you get accused of not answering or try again, as it's wishy washy and doesn't mean anything?

PersonWithAVulva · 07/10/2018 20:24

A poster tried to make the point of if 'libfems' stopped calling 'radfems' transphobic, then 'radfems' would stop calling 'libfems' handmaidens/men. This was ignored over and over.

Was what I meant to put above Blush
