Ocado boycott after support of Primesight actionhttp://www.mumsnet.com/Talk/womens_rights/3376466-ocado-boycott-after-support-of-primesight-action

Following on from my previous thread that became full Smile

I'll be making my first Waitrose order today, or maybe going back to Tesco. Will definitely give Waitrose a go though and have placed a Christmas order already.

Everyone knows that ‘i’m Sorry if you were offended’ is just code for ‘I’m not sorry’.

SponsoredFred · 02/10/2018 03:06

Late to the party, but definitely will not be using Ocado over this.

I found a statement of 'apoligy' from Ocado and its just lily-livered blah blah not good-enough....

'at Ocado we believe passionately in a culture of inclusion and creating an environment around our business that is completely free of discrimination of any sort'

sashh · 02/10/2018 04:28

Sponsored is that the one that then goes on to list 'gender' but not sex?

borntobequiet · 02/10/2018 04:44

Well I haven’t yet got an apology for the email that didn’t even give me the courtesy of a title - just Dear .
Because I detest corporate sloppiness almost as much as I hate misogyny, I’m nearly as annoyed about this as the billboard.

CaptainKirkssparetupee · 02/10/2018 06:41

Looks like TRA's are spamming Trustpilot.
Good for them, shame they won't feel the gap + 200+ people close their account has bought to the actual company.

KatVonGulag · 02/10/2018 06:56

I think it's important for companies to realise this is not a cut and dried issue. I don't think they genuinely care either way. They are just being knee jerk woke.

Remember your core market !

CaptainKirkssparetupee · 02/10/2018 07:01

No it's not a cut and Dried issue, but they've waded into it.

Rumbledore · 02/10/2018 07:11

Some interesting new reviewers on Trustpilot Hmm

CaptainKirkssparetupee · 02/10/2018 07:13

Some interesting new reviewers on Trustpilot

Leave them too it, Judging by the times the posts were made they are from the US, which means they aren't actually customers. They aren't replacing the people who closed their Accounts.

I'm suprised it didn't happen sooner.

RepealtheGRA · 02/10/2018 07:18

The TRA’s are just showing how incredibly slow on the uptake they are that it’s taken them this long. The photos of the non Adult Human Females should peak trans I few more.

Lurkers do please read the review from Natacha Kennedy and then google this person.

Did Mark Helen also leave a review? Hmm

peachescariad · 02/10/2018 08:38

Oh how I laughed this morning when I looked on Trust pilot...pathetic!! Ocado may very well have provided a 5 * star service years ago when it was launched, but for us customers who have used them, we know that they don't. The gen public are not stupid. It now looks absolutely hysterical with the little children stamping their sparkly pink shoes.
Someone has even mentioned MN??!
IMO the majority of those trust pilot reviews are from genuine Ocado customers (who probably don't even go on MN!!) who may have put up with a mediocre/OK service from Ocado in the past, but are genuinely disgusted (rightly so) with Ocado's actions and have aired their views.
Anyone going onto Trust Pilot now is going to see the pseudo reviews for what they really are....and I hope they have a good laugh too Grin

CaptainKirkssparetupee · 02/10/2018 08:44

The first day there was an influx of negative reviews but they are not exactly a new thing.
There's one there about a free tea towel which wasn't free because the voucher code didn't work. Ocado's reply is to "use the voucher code", clearly not reading the whole review.

Fiftysix · 02/10/2018 08:49

I don't pay attention to hoarding providers
(Who would), but now I notice primesight advertising and automatically feel less motivated towards product. Great mis-advertising!

Juells · 02/10/2018 09:01

Lurkers do please read the review from Natacha Kennedy and then google this person.

I love the shout-out for 'women drivers' - NK is well known for supporting women academics as well. Hmm

ThursdayNextIsMyHero · 02/10/2018 09:26

Nothing new to add, I cancelled last week, got the phone call yesterday - Ocado will not make a public statement and I will not shop with them again unless they do.

Tissunnyupnorth · 02/10/2018 09:46

Just sent my email, explained our values no longer aligned and that as the company could not respect my place in the world as a woman ie adult human female, I could no longer shop with them. Referred them to my account details and how much I had spent with them 2017/2018, hope it makes them feel sick (it did me)! I asked for my data to be deleted.

I did however suggest that the relationship was not irreparable and that a public apology would go some way to reassuring their female base.

BernardBlacksWineIcelolly · 02/10/2018 09:59

I am not an Ocado customer so haven't joined in this thread but just wanted to say how amazing you women are

my family grocery budget is £6,000 per anum (eek!). I am the only person who decides where that money is spent.

I will not be spending it with companies that endorse misogyny

happydappy2 · 02/10/2018 10:15

Have phoned this morning & am awaiting a call back, as would really like to give them the opportunity to understand why we are all so pissed off, & for them to make amends publicly.....otherwise goodbye ocado after 12 years....

Beagadorsrock · 02/10/2018 10:44

Argh I got a reply to my cancellation email asking for a ph n and a time to talk. I'm not good with talking! But I guess I'll have to have the conversation, won't I?

SolidarityGdansk · 02/10/2018 10:53

Ocado don’t seem to be fighting to keep our custom.

I have spent around £50k total with them and they just seem to be saying “sorry not sorry” “bye then”.

How to make their customers feel valued.

Waitrose it is then.

MnerXX · 02/10/2018 10:56

I forgot actually that I did use Ocado a couple of times a few years ago so asked for them to remove my data as well. I have had the same non-apology so told them to it's not enough.

PerverseConverse · 02/10/2018 10:59

Trust pilot have suspended my review as it doesn't contain enough customer service information Hmm I'll fill it out in more detail later.

OP posts:
Molokonono · 02/10/2018 11:02

But I guess I'll have to have the conversation, won't I?

No. If you opened the account without talking then you should be able to close it without talking too.

StealthNinjaMum · 02/10/2018 11:15

PerverseConverse so your review has been suspended. Is that men trying to silence women again?
