Posie Parker will be on This Morning tomorrow.

Not sure which TRA/AWA will be provided for her to chew up and spit out though.

Is there a new link up with the whole piece? The link I sent DH was pulled for copyright reasons.

It's one of those things where the people insistent on being allowed access are exactly the people who shouldn't be given it. I personally wouldn't be bothered to run into Fionne in spaces where neither of us would be naked like toilets, but a. unwitting Trojan horse and b. other women may feel differently and their feelings matter too.

EverardDigby · 29/09/2018 08:30

It's so cliched, a woman being "angry" or "aggressive" when she's just being clear and assertive. It would probably be described as "showing leadership" in a man.

Ooforfoxsakeridesagain · 29/09/2018 08:38

I don’t watch TM and I cannot bear this pair. Catching the opening bit where he puts her down about her exam results and exerts his superiority was very uncomfortable. Then he smiled at her age. Bet she doesn’t even notice anymore. It’s embarrassing.

IW appropriated ‘demure woman’ for the purposes of the interview, and it was obvious that there is a relationship between the three of them.

IW does not represent TW. Just the 15% who have undergone surgery.

They have, as far as I am concerned, misled their viewers. It was an incredibly dishonest piece of shit television.

Ooforfoxsakeridesagain · 29/09/2018 08:39

Should say ‘sniped at her age’.

Anyway, he remains horrid.

PierreBezukov · 29/09/2018 08:59

Although I loved Posie's response when accused of being angry - 'Women are allowed to be angry."

Datun · 29/09/2018 09:14

India was very sneaky there. Asking why Posie was so angry, not letting her answer.

And then claiming Posie said all manner of things that she hasn't. All in this cringingly fake voice. Surely India must know everyone has heard her actual voice , shouting just let that penetrate.

This women not allowed to be angry nonsense. All women should publicly call this out if it is levelled at them. It's a silencing tactic. It's basically shut up and get back in the kitchen.

It's the same tactic as when did you stop beating your wife.

TimeLady · 29/09/2018 10:21

India may well only have agreed to go on because they knew they were amongst friends, and given a free ride. Dr Ranj would be in the green room too, so that must have been intimidating for Posie as well..

Julian Clary!
That's who India seemed to be emulating!

LadyRochfordsHoickedGusset · 29/09/2018 11:04

Yes, yes, the very authoritative, deeper, dare I say "angry" voice was out for all to hear on Big Brother. Demure my arse.

LuggsaysNotaWomen · 29/09/2018 11:11

Middle aged adults using the phrase “on a journey” like they’re 17yr olds on XFactor when instead, they're supposed to be debating a serious topic that affects the law and societal cohesion is contemptuous. Mind you I was not expecting anything more than “utterly facile” from TM, they’re hardly a bastion of investigative journalism are they?

Posie was amazing under hostile conditions. There was most definitely a narrative of “evil feminist deliberately picks on poor docile transsexual who would never hurt a fly, nor nuffink” being constructed. I’m glad she resisted it without compromising on her no nonsense approach. And that boorish prick Holmes couldn’t have done more for the cause unless he had said “well I just think women should bend over and take whatever a man demands of them without complaining cos that’s the nice thing to do”. Thanks for that Eamon.

LadyRochfordsHoickedGusset · 29/09/2018 11:13

I've never really had an opinion one way or the other on ITV but the recent premeditated bullying by the Nolans/producers and now this set-up has cast such a different light on how they operate. Do they just assume we're all thick and will react like the live audience performing seals.

GucciKnickers · 29/09/2018 11:38

I agree with everything Parker says both here and on Twitter. However she needs to learn how to debate effectively. Seeing her on TM laughing at Trans issues was cringeworthy . She inadvertently and disappointingly gave India Willoughby the upper hand.

She seems to have poor self awareness and plays right into the trans community hands with her goady laughing and comments.

If she stuck to TGs on here and elsewhere she would have far more credibility. I'm not on about being 'nice', just stop the mocking and sneering. It detracts from the actual point.

LittleMissedTheSunshine · 29/09/2018 11:43

I agree Gucci I think Posie has a strong message and I admire her guts to say it but if she wants to gain support from the 'floating voters' out there ie the public who haven't really thought much about this issue and could be swayed either way, she does need to think about her delivery style.

If on the other hand she wants to just say what she thinks and preach to the converted and give no fucks, then fine and that's absolutely her choice but it is a missed opportunity to gain some traction IMHO.

BeyondAdultHumanFemale · 29/09/2018 11:46

The tweet read out claimed the person was female - remember, that word with a scientific meaning that nice people said they wouldn't claim - I'd have bloody laughed aloud at that too!!

CarolDanvers · 29/09/2018 11:46

Don’t agree at all. It’s time people stopped taking it all so seriously. We wouldn’t be where we are now if we’d done that from the start. In a lot of ways the trans agenda and what they’re requesting is ludicrous and it’s fine to react accordingly. They’ve forced this.

BeyondAdultHumanFemale · 29/09/2018 11:47

As would my mum - regular, floating voter, TM viewer

LadyRochfordsHoickedGusset · 29/09/2018 11:48

I disagree: Her forthright attitude stands out and gets her message across far more effectively than any tiptoeing around the subject would. It was refreshing. And was a touchstone for the others' fakery.

AngryAttackKittens · 29/09/2018 11:49

Yep. Little boy pointing out that the emperor is naked. Laughter is a natural response to a person claiming absurd things.

FloralBunting · 29/09/2018 11:53

Seriously. People are talking about this who a week ago didn't know anything about it. There are many women with a considered presentation style who have been talking about this for an age and no one has paid any attention.

I have no time for this clipping of the disrespectful woman's wings, when it is precisely her disrespect that gains the stage.

Yes, there are other things to say. Get on and say them and stop taking pot shots at women with the guts to go into the lion's den and point out the issue to the people who don't realize the lions are about to be released.

GucciKnickers · 29/09/2018 11:54

'what they’re requesting is ludicrous and it’s fine to react accordingly. '

Yes I agree it is ludicrous. However when appearing on national TV to laugh does not do you any favours.
Parker should've stuck to 'men can not be women it is medically impossible' and stated facts. They can dress as women, that doesn't make them women. Once mocking is introduced the focus shifts and transphobia becomes the discussion point.

AngryAttackKittens · 29/09/2018 11:55

It never ends, does it?

AngryAttackKittens · 29/09/2018 11:56

If you don't like what she's doing then do it yourself. Your way has been tried and failed to gain any traction, but if you want to try again then have at it. Posie is her own person and perfectly entitled to make her own decisions as to how to present herself and the issues.

OvaHere · 29/09/2018 11:57

As a concept it is absurd. IW and numerous other TW have described themselves as being in a teenage girl phase. Think about that for a second, middle aged men on a journey to teenage girlhood.

A few years back any man announcing themselves as a teen girl would have been throughly derided with good reason. The insidious of this ideology and it's redefining of language has rendered some people with the inability to think critically.
