Posie Parker will be on This Morning tomorrow.

Not sure which TRA/AWA will be provided for her to chew up and spit out though.

I have the biggest crush on Posie!

I was so impressed how she held her own even with 3 people ganging up on her and not listening to a single word she was saying.

seafret · 28/09/2018 15:44

Not seen it, just trying to find a link. So angry on Posie's behalf. Totally agree that there is no point in trying to convince the likes of Eamnon and Ruth - who have a horribly misogynist relationship. And I reckon Eamonn secretly HATES his dear Irish Mammy.

biologyisreal are you able to offer to help media train Posie if you think she needs it?

I don't think services are queueing up to support women like they are TW. There's no woke cookies in it.

Too angry for more words

SirVixofVixHall · 28/09/2018 15:45

You can use Kool Aid to dip dye your hair interesting colours like blue or purple. *helpful.

LangCleg · 28/09/2018 15:51

I. Do. Not. Think. Posie. Needs. Media. Training.

She's cutting through better than any other woman who has appeared on TV about this. The main battle we have is that most of the public have no idea what is happening. Posie gets more of that across than anyone else.

We have plenty of women who can fill in detail and understanding but it's getting people ready to listen that counts. Posie can do that.

All media training will do is dilute her.

SirVixofVixHall · 28/09/2018 15:54

India was really acting the “my struggle” . India who likened Mumsnetters to nazis, and told Karen Ingala Smith that she was always going on about murdered women. India who screamed at an old lady “I am a REAL WOMAN, let that PENETRATE “.
That flash of smug delight when Posie told India that she looked like a woman was just uggggh.
The real stunning and brave men are the men brave enough to expand the bandwidth of what it means to be male.

Reallylongstory1 · 28/09/2018 15:54

Over 2000 comments on the This Morning Facebook page. People are becoming aware of the issues. Compare with the number of comments on their other stories

seafret · 28/09/2018 15:55

I don't think she does either Lang. I was (badly) trying to make the point that if you have a skill that you think someone needs, instead of criticising why not make them an offer of help*

LittleMissedTheSunshine · 28/09/2018 15:55

YY Biology do you know how any media training could be put forward Posie's way. l like what she says, but i'm very aware that it's not me she needs to convince - it's the middle ground /'floating voters' who may not have given this much thought before apart from 'lets not be howwible to the poor transgender lady'

peepholepringle · 28/09/2018 15:57

I've tweeted Eamonn Holmes to ask him to clarify if he really means that males should be able to intimately search females against their will because they say they're a woman.
I know he's not going to reply but it puts that pile of crap out there with his name next to it.
I cannot believe he truly thinks that.

seafret · 28/09/2018 15:58

I DO NOT THINK POSIE NEEDS ANY MEDIA TRAINING

RepealtheGRA · 28/09/2018 16:01

There are still GC comments on Facebook despite the absolutely hatchet job they tried to do on Posie and despite the fact they are deleting GC comments.

seafret - sorry, lovey, wasn't meaning you. So pissed off at wankpot Eamonn am typing in haste! Also pissed off at the nitpicking of Posie - yeah, let's see anyone else do better. Posie's strength is that she gives no shits and is quite prepared to piss some people off along the way. She's cutting through with this approach and still people who aren't risking anything like as much want to pick it apart. Bloody annoying.

LittleMissedTheSunshine · 28/09/2018 16:03

Why the bold caps seafret ?

I do think she'd benefit from it, it would help her to deal with underhand tactics by IW and the like. Seeing as she's not been media trained before, why would it not be a good idea?

Go on flame away as I have dared to say something not 100% entirely positive about PP!

FloralBunting · 28/09/2018 16:03

I am fully on board the IW is a self-absorbed misogynist bus, but can we stop calling the still tremendously beautiful, charming and fabulous Amanda Barrie variations on 'a little old woman'.Grin

TonnoEMaionese · 28/09/2018 16:06

emotional blackmail. And IMO this was the tactic that This Morning tried to use with Posie today.

Yes, and something that really, really rang out was how unapologetic she was for not rising to the bait of it.

She factually stated that India could dress however India liked, but that hard journeys didn't make her any more a woman.

Women in these circumstances have a tendancy to apologise and excuse their opinion and Posie didn't - which was fantastic to watch.

Comments under the Metro tweet bear no resemblance to the claims in the article. Where is the backlash? Nearly all the comments support Posie. It's almost as if they decide on a story because it fits their agenda and don't bother waiting to see if reality matches up Hmm

PinkyU · 28/09/2018 16:08

I don’t think she came across particularly well in either the TM or Sky interview tbh (no surprise), shouting over your counterpart and making a point of being referred to by a certain title but then repeatedly, purposely, ignoring their appropriate title (Dr) just smacks of childishness.

I think that there are debatable points to be made within the gender critical argument, but hanging your hat on the “dictionary definition of woman” is a weak tag line. To me it makes the “movement” a bit of a joke every time I see it.

HollyBollyBooBoo · 28/09/2018 16:08

Is there a standing for women website or FB page? Googled but nothing obvious has come up? Thanks

LittleMissedTheSunshine · 28/09/2018 16:10

It would probably get taken down or banned before it had any chance to gain traction Holly such is the world we currently live in

seafret · 28/09/2018 16:10

It is OK Lang. I shouldn't have been conciliatory towards Biologyisreal and should have just said what I meant. You made me see how easy it is to be misconstrued because of trying to be nice an not upset people or cause a row.

I think Posie was superb in every way and don't see it as a disaster or any such thing. (from some comments I was nearly afraid to watch it).

I think she said exactly what needs to be said and did not look mean. he looked more than the measure of them in every way.

It was entirely predictably set up but the others looked dim, mentally and logically vulnerable and appeasing.

HumphreyCobblers · 28/09/2018 16:11

Have emailed itv to complain about Eamonn's comment about searching. FFS.

I think Posie does brilliantly. She is calm in the face of anything thrown at her and gives no quarter. We can all think of extra things that could be said in the privacy of our own homes. NO ONE else is getting to say this stuff on tv.

FloralBunting · 28/09/2018 16:12

PinkyU, oh well, never mind then.

seafret · 28/09/2018 16:14

What is notable I thnk is that when IW started on some nonsense, Poie said "NO" and IW actually stopped and gave way. She commands respects not asks for it.

She may have laughed at a TW saying they are female, but is was clear to me that it was not a cruel laugh at someone, but at the absurdity of their assertion, as she then clearly said.

Posie handles it perfectly. We all need to be more like her I think.

LangCleg · 28/09/2018 16:14

You made me see how easy it is to be misconstrued because of trying to be nice an not upset people or cause a row.

Tell you what though: it's so bloody liberating when you decide not to do it! Wink
