Posie Parker will be on This Morning tomorrow.

Not sure which TRA/AWA will be provided for her to chew up and spit out though.

Just caught up and managed to watch this.

Posie was great despite the fact the other three were determined not to let her make her points fully and to constantly make it about IW.

She still managed to get some salient points in and it was fairly obvious that the only counter argument anyone can come up with is women shut up and be nice.

Fair play to her then. :) Tho', of course, in our Brave New World, it won't be necessary to shave legs or wear a dress to declare that a man can self-ID as a woman.

TimeLady · 28/09/2018 15:03

I've no sympathy for any male who fucks over a woman by marrying her when 'they were (apparently) always aware of but not allowed to be their true self'.

And there was more than one of those on the TV this morning.

MipMipMip · 28/09/2018 15:03

I have a headache from banging my head against brick walls on twitter. Sad

Am I correct in thinking they didn't read out any more comments after the segment, despite asking for them? I suppose they didn't want to show Mr Holmes comment and that came up a lot on Twitter. I've not been able to stand him after he blasted the police a few hours after the Manchester attack for now providing a "narrative".

LittlePearl · 28/09/2018 15:06

I agree Cecily, can they honestly not hear themselves minimising, dismissing, trivialising what are entirely legitimate concerns about things THAT WILL NOT AFFECT THEM?

Peter Tatchell declares he 'loves' people...... he has a funny way of showing it when it comes to women and their concerns. I don't know why I'm disappointed because I should know better by now. Sad

WichBitchHarpyTerfThatsMe · 28/09/2018 15:07

Have emailed a complaint.

DaisyTwirl · 28/09/2018 15:07

Have just watched it - thought Posie did great!

Calm, didn't rise to the baiting & was eye-rolly incredulous when needed.

She comes across as real & genuine, and has a no-nonsense, plain English demeanour which cuts through to ordinary, everyday people.

She is the 'average woman on the street' complement to the more academic feminists like Dr Nic etc.

LittleMissedTheSunshine · 28/09/2018 15:11

Can anyone who's just watched it post a link up please as the you tube one is not working

HelenaDove · 28/09/2018 15:11

" in the face of attempted emotional manipulation from the other three"

Par for the course from ITV. I went on the Vanessa show in 1997 to talk about being childfree by choice. They brought on a couple whose child had died. To try and make me feel guilty about my choice and while i had sympathy for the couple (which i did and still do) i was made to feel that i had to keep reiterating that if you know what i mean.

I had a lot of support from the audience though which Posie didnt have today.

I was only 24 back then but later on with a few more years of life experience behind me i could absolutely see it for what it was..........emotional blackmail. And IMO this was the tactic that This Morning tried to use with Posie today.

dolorsit · 28/09/2018 15:15

*Why has the you tube link been blocked?

It says it has been blocked on 'copyright grounds' but is this really ITV just wanting to stifle debate and avoid revealing what bullies they are?*

It's nothing sinister. TV companies tend to do that around any broadcast shortly after broadcast. They tend to want the views on their own platforms, especially if they think it will be popular.

They are often not as concerned after some time has passed.

Movablefeast · 28/09/2018 15:17

However this went today it will make no difference to my support for Posie, including financial support.

FusionChefGeoff · 28/09/2018 15:18

Fuck me - sorry, late to the party with the Sky News interview - but, fuck me, that was AMAZING.

We need that interview out in the world!!!! Simply incredible.

I am going to call on my inner Posie a lot - that was the most awe inspiring example of mature debate I have seen.

Ooforfoxsakeridesagain · 28/09/2018 15:29

Just watched it. Given it was an absolute stitch up by the hosts, PP did really well.

IW is playing the game. They’ve learnt from B.B. and was today modelling ‘demure woman’.

IW doesn’t represent 85% of ‘trans’ women, those who haven’t had (and have no intention of having) any medicalised treatment.

I’d love to know more about IW as a trans Woman. I could empathise with them, because it is something as a woman I will never experience. Just as they will never experience the things which bind us women in womanhood. It doesn’t mean it’s not valid, it just means it’s different.

Once Joe Public accept TWAW, and they accept the Stonewall description (because SW is deemed to be an authority on all things LGBTQ) then they’re accepting transvestites as women, fetishes, the whole rainbow. Then we are truely fucked.

This Morning was a debacle. It had an opportunity to report factually, but instead decided to buddy up and make it about their pals.

Just as the BBC on Victoria Derbyshire reduced the GGUK debate to an innocent 7 year old girl, TM have wheeled in a demure IW. Its all such a fabrication of the truth.

LangCleg · 28/09/2018 15:32

Keep punching through the syrupy, manipulative, gaslighting shit Posie!

THIS!

MipMipMip · 28/09/2018 15:33

Men who been sexually assaulted (can a man be legally raped if he has a fake vagina?) should get support - but not alongside women in women's spaces.

Yes, they can. The requirement for rape (in the uk) is that the rapist has a penis and inserts it into a bodily orifice of a victim. Rape of men is rare but can be done. There is no reason for the rape of a transwoman to be different.

None of which means they should be in a space reserved to help women recover. Or that they should not be given help. Just that the help is different.

Ucantarguewistupid · 28/09/2018 15:35

As others have said. Posie needs to get some media training. Tbh, I would have advised against going on this morning. They are too much into the Kool aid and can’t conduct a decent debate. I haven’t seen the interview but it sounds like it went much like I thought it would. Still, the twitter post allows people to get some points across ....

LangCleg · 28/09/2018 15:36

That anyone could think India - the person who threw a narc rage and got in the face of an eighty-year-old woman for not being sufficiently submissive and affirmative - could possibly belong in a refuge for women escaping male abuse is quite beyond me.

CaptainKirkssparetupee · 28/09/2018 15:36

What exactly is kool aid?

Some kind of drink yeah?

TwistedStitch · 28/09/2018 15:39

Wasn't it IW who called the Counting Dead Women project offensive to men? Or was that someone else?

NothingOnTellyAgain · 28/09/2018 15:39

I don't like the Kool Aid thing.

I get why it's used but the origin is so upsetting that I just don't like to use it.
en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jonestown

OvaHere · 28/09/2018 15:40

It's a reference to the Jonestown massacre where cult members committed suicide (or were murdered in reality). The leader was a man named Jim Jones.

NothingOnTellyAgain · 28/09/2018 15:40

Yes IW said the counting dead women project was awful because it made men look bad.

LittleMissedTheSunshine · 28/09/2018 15:41

Captain I think this refers to a cult where the leader inspired its followers to commit suicide by drinking kool aid, a soft drink laced with poision.

So it means to accept ideology unquestioningly and in a cult like manner

Tanith · 28/09/2018 15:42

Koolaid is an American drink mixture (bit like Nesquick). I seem to remember it's full of additives. I haven't got any at the moment to check, though.

I've actually never drunk it or given it to the kids, but it makes great playdough colouring and scent Grin

CaptainKirkssparetupee · 28/09/2018 15:42

Thank you all.
