Posie Parker will be on This Morning tomorrow.

Not sure which TRA/AWA will be provided for her to chew up and spit out though.

Yy

WellErrr · 28/09/2018 13:46

The Facebook and Twitter threads I've read are almost universally in support of Posie?

dolorsit · 28/09/2018 13:47

GinFor Mr Harrop for getting one poster displayed in Liverpool broadcast to the nation on morning TV to an audience which is predominately female.

Well done sir Grin

NewWomensMovement · 28/09/2018 13:48

It is important to remember that some people are just unreachable. They are so invested in the status quo, so brainwashed and loyal to the oppressor, there is no point trying to appeal to them.

However, there are also millions of people who are quietly confused, annoyed and insulted by all this bullshit we are being forced to go along with and to them she will be like a drink of crystal clear spring water in a desert. People will be looking her up, finding out about her.

arranfan · 28/09/2018 13:50

In Kathleen Stock terms, I'm a 'middle-aged female, protesting vociferously'.

Holmes' abhorrent perspective and pronouncement can not be unchallenged.

Using the advice upthread, I've written to complain to This Morning about Eamonn Holmes' comment.

GoldenWonderwall · 28/09/2018 13:50

I like that she gives no fucks - bland pr bullshit is what’s causing half this mess anyway. If people are offended that she isn’t kind to IW for having surgery then that’s their problem. Perhaps if TM had brought on one of the women sexually assaulted in prison by Karen White they could have had a balance in who is supposed to provoke sympathy in this debate. Though EH would perhaps tell them to not get locked up next time.

RepealtheGRA · 28/09/2018 13:51

Posie’s followers are growing on Facebook

Just watched again, she was really good , managed it so well. Didn't get drawn into discussing IW identity, went for facts. This is the way to go. facts, facts facts and impact.

Not any woman's job to validate trans identity or any other identity for that matter.

TwistedStitch · 28/09/2018 13:51

Same here WellErr the Facebook one particularly is overwhelmingly in support of Posie. I turned TM off afterwards, have they come back to it and read any more comments?

CircumzenithalArc · 28/09/2018 13:51

littlbrowndog
But a few months ago a women would not have been ALLOWED to say what posie said on national telly that she didn’t agree that trans women were women

This is precisely what I've taken from this.

Despite the interview being a "car crash" or a "stitch up" or however you look at it, ultimately Posie was allowed to say what has been forbidden for a long time. This is huge progress.

dolorsit · 28/09/2018 13:52

It's just such an innocuous way into the debate.

Why is the dictionary definition of women offensive?

Why does a woman's group feel the need to put up a billboard?

littlbrowndog · 28/09/2018 13:54

Yes exactly
Posie has laid it out and allowed us all to say the previous forbidden but what everybody actually thinksv

LangCleg · 28/09/2018 13:55

Posie did everything correctly. She just did. She got it all in. Cervix owners, Miranda, Karen White, unconsenting assault by security guards, the lot.

Exactly. Find me anyone who could have coped with that three-onto-one better than Posie did. One person. Fucking nitpicking is starting to piss me off.

Eamonn is a despicable misogynist who thinks it is okay for women to be sexually assaulted by male police officers because fucking ladyfeelz. I would likely have thrown my glass of water over him at that point.

Posie: you rock.

enrichedatthegulags · 28/09/2018 13:55

I don't think she did a great job to be honest. I think PP needed to be a bit more sympathetic to India's journey. Saying if she got raped she should start her own organisation was a bit much even for me.
Although, yes the TM stance was very biased.

KERALA1 · 28/09/2018 13:56

I found it refreshing to see a woman not being "nice" and conciliatory and weedy as we are conditioned to be. The suffragettes tried that for years got them nowhere until they started breaking windows. Not suggesting violence but simpering "niceness" needs to stop - and is not demanded of or expected from men. Why can they not just be "nice" and ensure their spaces are safe and pleasant for TW. What has it even got to do with women?

dolorsit · 28/09/2018 13:56

Yes, I'm not really bothered about the attitude of the presenters. I want the GC view to be heard in its variations.

bitheby · 28/09/2018 13:57

Biting but AGP absolutely does exist and I know because I was in a relationship with one. For him, dressing as a woman is a sexual fetish and is really the most fundamental part of his sexuality actually.

For many other people, it won't be but erasing AGP because it's inconvenient to the wider movement just doesn't cut it.

NewWomensMovement · 28/09/2018 13:58

Saying if she got raped she should start her own organisation was a bit much even for me.

That was one of my favourite bits. IW doesn't give a fuck about anyone else, why should everyone else centre IW?

TwistedStitch · 28/09/2018 14:00

Where was IW's sympathy to the victims of Karen White? Dismissing it by bringing up Myra Hindley!

LangCleg · 28/09/2018 14:01

I think PP needed to be a bit more sympathetic to India's journey.

What the fuck for? India says feminists are the same as Nazis. India can do one.

NewWomensMovement · 28/09/2018 14:03

Also India's journey is an insult to women. The sexism, the stereotypes, the appropriation, just no.

TwistedStitch · 28/09/2018 14:04

There is a lot of time wasted when guests have to pre-empt their comments with platitudes, sympathy, understanding, niceness etc. Posie is able to fit alot more in to the time slot by not wasting time doing that.

And I don't see why IW warrants the cuddly treatment. IW has some terrible attitudes towards women's issues and behaved awfully to Amanda Barrie on CBB.

starlingsintheslipstream · 28/09/2018 14:05

It was a complete pile-on but Posie did well all things considered.
Anyway:
Donation made to standing for women [tick]
Ofcom complaint emailed [tick]
Now off to look at the GRA consultation.

LadyRochfordsHoickedGusset · 28/09/2018 14:05

I think the word journey should be banned. You're just talking of life experience. You didn't just get off a train ffs.
