Posie Parker will be on This Morning tomorrow.

Not sure which TRA/AWA will be provided for her to chew up and spit out though.

Again, if anyone's getting discouraged that Posie didn't get to say everything she might have wanted to, remember that even a month or two ago there were no women on TV challenging the TRA narrative at all, and no panels being aired where the issues were being discussed. This is just the beginning. The goal was always to get to a point where the general public was aware of what the potential consequences are and the whole thing was up for public debate. Now it is.

YetAnotherSpartacus · 28/09/2018 13:06

I can do it but not explain how I know where to poke. It just becomes clear after observing them interact with people. It's always easy with males who have issues with women

See, I'm hopeless. I just rage and either walk away or hurl abuse.

pennydrew · 28/09/2018 13:06

Watched the full thing. Posie was brilliant! Wtf with the criticisms here?! Not overly angry, just firm. Said a lot of very sensible important things despite the weird and frankly embarrassing questions from Ruth & Eamonn. I really don’t know what some here expect in a short & highly provocative interview with biased presenters.

BoreOfWhabylon · 28/09/2018 13:06

Well done Posie! You held your own in what was a blatant set-up.

You have succeeded in making more and more of the public aware of the issues at stake.

Even just a few months ago, it would have been unthinkable to say TWAW.

@Somerville, I was interested in your comments about media training. Are you by any chance someone who could facilitate this, or point Posie in the right direction? If so, do I hope someone who is in contact with Posie will pm you.

TheCountessofFitzdotterel · 28/09/2018 13:06

'That creep Harrop saying on his Twitter that posie didn’t do well
Wish he would do one'

Ha ha.
Well, my first reaction was that Posie didn't do as well as we know she is capable of doing and I was a bit sad. And then I saw the Twitter response. EVEN WHEN POSIE DOES BADLY (for her - obv she is a million times better than I or the majority of most people) she still gets rafts and rafts of people new to the issues agreeing with her.

TransposersArePosers · 28/09/2018 13:07

I thought Posie did remarkably well in such a biased situation, but given that it was IW it was always going to be like that. Add This Morning's Dr Ranj into the mix and they were never going to allow for a GC view to get any traction.

Eamonn Holmes''s comment was disgraceful.

NewWomensMovement · 28/09/2018 13:07

Posie please don't listen to people who think you should modify your delivery.

Yes people get upset if a woman isnt being all insincere and nicey, but seriously, fuck em. Keep speaking your truth and remember thousands of us are on your side.

Please be a rough diamond not some polished bore.

BoreOfWhabylon · 28/09/2018 13:07

TWAM

AngryAttackKittens · 28/09/2018 13:08

Polite and conciliatory was tried. It didn't work.

BoreOfWhabylon · 28/09/2018 13:11

Gah! my last post was supposed to be a correction of my previous one but thread is moving too fast!

NewWomensMovement · 28/09/2018 13:12

I want more though!

More Posie on TV please!

It is such a joy hearing what I think said out loud on national television in a public discourse which has increasingly become a fearful, cowardly circus ring-led by cross-dressing psychopaths.

Ineedacupofteadesperately · 28/09/2018 13:12

Yes, Posie did do well considering everyone else there was trying to bully her into being nice. Getting the point in about strip searches was good. I think very few people could have remained so poised and articulate under such an onslaught. Have complained to ofcom about Eamonn's comments and will be donating to Posie's group.

breastfeedingclownfish · 28/09/2018 13:13

Just watched it. That was a bloody pile on Posie but she held her own.

It just boils down to 'be kind' doesn't it? Even when cross dressing is included as a valid criteria for being transgender, we are supposed to fuck off and give up our rights to cross dressers.

I think that the cross dressing aspect needs to be emphasised, as well as the campaign to not require gender dysphoria as a criteria.

Well done Posie.

FloralBunting · 28/09/2018 13:14

It was never going to be a rout like with the dozy Ade. But she got enough across to continue the wider conversation, and as has been pointed out, this kind of public discussion is everything the AWA don't want. Keep talking. Keep bloody talking. Keep making the case. AWA won't back down, and we need to dig for the long game.

TallulahWaitingInTheRain · 28/09/2018 13:15

Posie is playing the role of the little boy pointing out the emperors nakedness here. Nuanced delivery is not required. By saying uncompromisingly what she thinks she is giving everyone else permission to do the same.

NewWomensMovement · 28/09/2018 13:16

I totally want to get that woman beer or two!

littlbrowndog · 28/09/2018 13:17

Yes exactly

NothingOnTellyAgain · 28/09/2018 13:18

just going to watch it

seen previous comments re rapey comment eamonn

he has form for that - think he is a grade a rape victim blamer seem to remember something from before

no friend of women anyway

just seen the start

why are they making it personal

PP didn't put up a poster about IW

IW has a GRC?

This is about the concept that woman = anyone who says they are one & ANY man can access anything for women (& boys for girls)

DontCisgenderMe · 28/09/2018 13:23

Did anyone watch the whole show? I only saw Posie's bit. I'm wondering if they read out any more viewer comments later on? Given that there were loads of GC comments on Twitter and several of us had phoned whilst the show was still on, were they still pretending that nobody agreed with Posie?

Oswin · 28/09/2018 13:23

She has been very popular with the people from my area. These are people who have no idea what's going on. On facebook after there was so many people praising her. People saying they love her. I think because she isn't all soft and doesn't back down people like it.

TheGoddessFrigg · 28/09/2018 13:23

I just think Posie came across as hard nosed

Good I am fed up of women having to be Nice and Conciliatory and Understanding. It's got us nowhere- - and the TRA just demand more and more.

You cannot change a narcissist.

Politelygiveszerofucks · 28/09/2018 13:25

Fair enough. I think she packed in so much important information and stayed so on message. It’s extremely easy to back-seat drive.

I think I was just engaging with Somerville about media training. I just felt when PP said “that doesn’t matter” in relation to India’s journey it reinforced the narrative that certain lobbyists are keen to build around her.

fidgetspinner555 · 28/09/2018 13:25

Well done Posie. You did really well not giving an inch on this. Eamonn Holmes is so doddery - he's such a bad interviewer and didn't seem to grasp the issue at all.

India - well I can't post what I thought about them......but it's not complimentary!
