Posie Parker will be on This Morning tomorrow.

Not sure which TRA/AWA will be provided for her to chew up and spit out though.

Tell me Eamonn's rapey comment again? My confession is that I turned on, saw two minutes of Posie being talked over and gaslit, and followed it on here

Mrskeats · 28/09/2018 12:47

That creep Harrop saying on his Twitter that posie didn’t do well
Wish he would do one

AngryAttackKittens · 28/09/2018 12:48

If I was to make any suggestion to Posie it would be to figure out how to needle people like India into the kind of narcissistic meltdown that makes it clear exactly why many women don't want them in our spaces. The buttons are there and fairly obvious, learn how to push them.

Charliethefeminist · 28/09/2018 12:48

Was that the filming at WPUK?

littlbrowndog · 28/09/2018 12:48

We just got rational questions and replies from the interviewer lady and 3 of the panel

2 guys said trans ppl were being demonised. 2 women and 1 guy made really good points.

PurpleCrowbar · 28/09/2018 12:48

This Morning FB looking good, too. People are getting it.

Eamonn did us a massive favour, frankly; very few people seem to think it's OK for a woman's vagina to be searched by a male police officer, however he identifies.

Charliethefeminist · 28/09/2018 12:48

Nobody likes Adrian, not even TRA.

happydappy2 · 28/09/2018 12:49

Have also emailed in to complain about Eamonns 'if the policeman feels like a woman then it is ok to do intimate searches' it is NOT OK.

littlbrowndog · 28/09/2018 12:49

They were talking about posies posterb

Do tell! Seriously - I'd love to know. I'm so WYSIWYG that I have no idea how to do things like this.

EverardDigby · 28/09/2018 12:50

Women are entitled to talk about women's rights without having it made all about one trans person who's sitting opposite being all sad and victimised.

This is exactly a microcosm of the larger debate - 1,000s of women versus feelz.

And WTAF was Eamonn's comment / "joke" about Ruth not being the oldest woman in the world leading onto another segment. What a twattish, ageist, sexist thing to say (though I guess Ruth could just identify as the oldest woman in the world...)

arranfan · 28/09/2018 12:50

I don't want to merail this thread to make it about T-shirt slogans so have opened up another one for ideas. :)

Politelygiveszerofucks · 28/09/2018 12:51

I am absolutely not going to slate PP who remained calm and resolute under pressure in an extremely biased environment.

However I think her argument needs a bit of careful crafting which acknowledges empathy etc, that people have been through a difficult journey, that in some cases like India’s reassignment surgery may be the best option, but there are limits to what that can achieve.

Recognising that someone has a psychological condition which makes them ‘feel’ they have the wrong body is not the same as actually having the wrong body.

We have to acknowledge that this difficult surgery doesn’t give you an actual woman’s body. (And point out how many keep their penises).

We need to give people like India a 3rd category which acknowledges their birth sex but also their current status. And I guess we need to work out how to achieve trans facilities etc.

I realise that many transwomen don’t want to compromise.

I think Posie needs to engage a bit more with the distress experienced by people like India while at the same time staying resolute that this must not impinge on female rights & take away our identity.

She was fab but just needs to work on the empathy, make some more eye contact and say look I acknowledge, respect & understand all that you have been through but you also have to understand the limits of your surgery. Sadly, women in the media (I am one) still need to come across as ‘nice’ to be effective.

Badstyley · 28/09/2018 12:52

Can somebody make a clip specifically of the strip search bit? That is going to peek an awful lot of people, and I’d really like to make that arsehole look very very bad indeed. Rapey bastard!

ADisrespectfulWoman · 28/09/2018 12:54

Name changed Grin

The format of the interview was disgraceful and Eamonn's comment was utterly shameful.

Despite all she was up against, Posie was brilliant. What an incredible woman!

AngryAttackKittens · 28/09/2018 12:54

Just watch what's said to them right before they go apeshit. It's different for every person.

I can do it but not explain how I know where to poke. It just becomes clear after observing them interact with people. It's always easy with males who have issues with women.

AngryAttackKittens · 28/09/2018 12:55

Remember when Trump called someone a nasty women and tons of American women just ran with it? We should too with this. Take the blatant sexism and rub their noses in it.

silentcrow · 28/09/2018 12:57

Before the Posie segment, he had already talked Ruth down when she tried to challenge him about how much he helps with the children's homework, and he made some snarky, dismissive remark about who had the better exam results. I thought she'd swallowed a nettle at that point! Just so rude on live tv. I wonder if she ever rewatches their interactions and sees what a pig he is to her.

HandsOffMyRights · 28/09/2018 12:57

Sorry, another...

When Susie Green was on GMB and Piers raised the subject of self ID in prisons SG was affronted. I've watched this again and it appears Susannah took instruction in her earpiece to kill that topic.

I bet SG and co have ryders of what they won't talk about (i.e. taking your son abroad for surgery).

I'm not sure GC women should go on This Morning again. They fawned over Munroe last time. I'm not sure we should put our cause open to ridicule and attack like this.

Piers is OK, Nick Ferari, head to head down the line on Sky, but This Morning (possibly Loose Women - don't watch it) and the like, no.

Their touchy feely sexist agenda sucks.

AngryAttackKittens · 28/09/2018 12:57

Formatting suggestion.

Eammon's quote, or a video clip of it.

The Maya Angelou quote about believing people when they show you who they are.

LatinForTelly · 28/09/2018 12:58

Nobody likes Adrian, not even TRA.

For some reason, I read this in a Patricia Routledge/Victoria Wood show voice, and it made me smile.

I think PP did ok in a very difficult position. Agree that some media training would help her even more. If she'd been able to get to why it's important to be able to define women correctly, she'd have persuaded more people.

I am wondering if Eammon's (sp?) comment on the body search was a deliberate (albeit cowardly) attempt to highlight the absurdity of the situation whilst still appearing woke?

Almost like when The Sun does faux outrage in order to tell a salacious story whilst retaining the moral high ground.

Either that or he's more stupid than I gave him credit for...

HandsOffMyRights · 28/09/2018 12:58

Don't start me on Genderfake...

Politelygiveszerofucks · 28/09/2018 12:59

Btw. She was still amazing, I am talking about fine-tuning here. Posie is also extremely gorgeous & sexy, she exudes a feminity in a way which really poils the piss of Dr Harrop and his ilk.

They can never be her it’s why they hate her so much.

Shampooeeee · 28/09/2018 12:59

She spoke clearly and remained calm despite the questions focusing on IW.
I think it's enough to get mainstream coverage and plant the idea of doubt into people's minds. I was very pleased that she mentioned the cervical cancer materials, pregnant people, etc as these are in the mainstream and not contained in the twitter world like "cis".

MaryThorne · 28/09/2018 13:01

@littlbrowndog just watched it. At least there were some voices of reason but I was very frustrated, if not surprised that the tone especially from Peter Tatchell was to attempt to shut down any debate on the issue by labelling any dissent as bigotry. Some sensible comments too from others around the table though about having to be careful of unintended consequences when creating policy.
