Posie Parker will be on This Morning tomorrow.

Not sure which TRA/AWA will be provided for her to chew up and spit out though.

Disrespectful woman. Example: one who can use a dictionary and understands biology.

Grief - the series writes itself.

Laniakea · 28/09/2018 12:34

I've complained to ofcom too, I'll write to This Morning later.

Comments are still largely in agreement with Posie, she's peak transed some of dh's coworkers.

deepwatersolo · 28/09/2018 12:34

Brontelot yeah, but as you said, she got that platform due to her actions. For years women have banked on respectful dialogue that must not offend and acknowledges oh all the oppression gendernonconforming men suffer. And what did it get them? Better be bold.

HandsOffMyRights · 28/09/2018 12:34

I would like to point out to The Metro that this is the OED definition of 'Woman' not just frigging Google.

Ereshkigal · 28/09/2018 12:35

This was a deliberate ambush. Women are entitled to talk about women's rights without having it made all about one trans person who's sitting opposite being all sad and victimised.

This. I feared it would be like that.

TwistedStitch · 28/09/2018 12:36

Wow the FB feed is pretty supportive of Posie too. Quite a few unhappy that TM 'lied' that there was no support for her. I won't comment on IW any further because I've just been given a strike for what I thought was a reasonably worded post Hmm

Brontelot · 28/09/2018 12:36

I know, I know where she is coming from deepwatersolo - but the general public bloody well don't.

I know, what numbskulls Grin

This IS a gift.

This has lit the touchpaper. It's what we need. Talking. Explaining, providing evidence, pointing out loopholes, talking about Karen White, Ian Huntley, girl guides.

Many people only see the practical application of this. The notion that woman as a concept is up for grabs may not matter to a lot of people.

Until it is pointed out to them, how it will disadvantage women. For what? To validate men.

As soon as people see the powerplay, and let's face it many people don't even know it's there, the whole thing drops into place.

It's instant. As soon as people grasp that one concept, the rest of it becomes blindingly obvious.

India goes from a live and let live, to an arrogant manipulator.

And your only shock is how you could not have seen it before.

And this is only going one way. The number of people who see it is rising inexorably. It doesn't stop.

Look at mumsnet. It's exploded.

The thread on AIBU has at least four people (including the OP) suddenly getting it. In her case, all it took was Stephanie Wolsch.

It's a sudden blinding clarity that makes everything change.

LangCleg · 28/09/2018 12:36

I also logged a complaint with ofcom re Eamonn Holmes' suggestion that women should submit to an illegal body search from a man because his feelings outrank her bodily integrity.

Just going to do the same. I cannot even speak for rage.

HandsOffMyRights · 28/09/2018 12:36

I rarely use 'LOL' but

It’s absorbed

I think they mean 'absurd'.
Hmm

Brontelot · 28/09/2018 12:36

That metro article is truly terrible journalism HandsOff.

Charliethefeminist · 28/09/2018 12:36

Honestly we are going to be forced to the suffragette stage of arrests, jail, hunger strikes. I really believe this.

ILuvBirdsEye · 28/09/2018 12:37

Just watched it on catchup. I thought it was great. She got loads of airtime and spoke well. She was clear and articulate, said what she believes and wasn't rude. I thought it was enough to give people food for thought.

She may well be kicking herself now that she didn't say this, that and the other. But that's fine. She lives to fight another day.

Thanks Posie Flowers for standing up and being counted (and facing all the crap).

TheCountessofFitzdotterel · 28/09/2018 12:37

Posie's dictionary definition t shirt available here
Someone on another thread said order a size up as they are quite close fitting.

deepwatersolo · 28/09/2018 12:39

HandsOff we should ask Metro. What other definition they know.

Ereshkigal · 28/09/2018 12:42

Honestly we are going to be forced to the suffragette stage of arrests, jail, hunger strikes. I really believe this.

I think you're right.

FlowerpotFairyHouse · 28/09/2018 12:43

If also wear a Disrepsectful Woman t shirt.

PurpleCrowbar · 28/09/2018 12:43

Just watched it on YouTube (thank you whoever posted that, I can't get UK TV! ).

I thought Posie was bloody brilliant, actually. They totally tried to set her up with the whole 'stop being horrid to our lovely tremulous mate' thing & she stayed calm, made her points clearly & kept on track. Extremely impressive.

We've got this. Disrespectful women ftw.

FlowerpotFairyHouse · 28/09/2018 12:43

I'd

RepealtheGRA · 28/09/2018 12:44

On the plus side my new t-shirt should fit after the hunger strike Grin

What's wrong with transwomen being transwomen? If they get to be called women then what's the collective noun for xx females who menstruate gestate etc?

As for Eamonn 'rapey' Holmes. So, the feelings of the person with the penis override the consent of the woman being searched. Nice.

WomenMakePurchasingDecisions · 28/09/2018 12:45

Yep. I’ve been thinking this a lot recently.

Posie was brilliant in a very tough gig. I hope she knows how much support she has.

HandsOffMyRights · 28/09/2018 12:46

So many men and women thought Suffragists to be 'angry' and 'disrespectful'.

They couldn't understand. Didn't want to understand why women felt that way.

It's still about women's rights and misogyny, but the public are confused when the see someone with GRS being all nice, coy and 'girly'

I thought that once parents were impacted (voys in changing rooms/sports teams) it might change. But many parents still support Guides because of its PR.

When it happens to the public (John's mother is given intimate care by a TW, Lucy's smear test is conducted by a TW, Frank's granddaughter is attacked in a toilet) then maybe they will think about the wider world. Most only think about 'themselves'

I remember reading threads on here over past years 'don't call me c**' I think I even posted to say this affects a tiny minority. In the real world, outside London Blush this isn't a 'thing'
It seemed ludicrous. It has only been since going on Twitter that I saw the true horror of trans activism.

Rambling, I feel really narked by This Morning (bravo Posie though amid such bias and contempt)
