Posie Parker will be on This Morning tomorrow.

Not sure which TRA/AWA will be provided for her to chew up and spit out though.

I am not the Ofcom type but I have just phoned and registered a complain against the programme and in particular Eamon Holmes - a man who thinks women should be subject to intimate searches by a male bodies person just because they indentify as a woman.
This is the kind of hate speech (and make no bones about it, that is exactly the kind of speech that adds to and allows women to be accepted as lesser in society and that their bodies are there to validate men) that makes me terrified to leave the house should I accidentally commit a crime and require a search.

You're correct, princess in that women here, some of whom have been married to autogynephiles who have wrought havoc on their marriages and their lives, are happy to correctly identify a set of behaviours in males that can only be described as autogynephilic.

Pips Bunce being the outstanding example des nos jours.

This is a photo in which the male presentation of Pips Bunce is admiring the female version.

What would your interpretation of that be, if not AGP?

deepwatersolo · 28/09/2018 11:37

Lest we forget, one of the scientists on top of her field is Anne Lawrence, by her own words an autogynwphilic Transwoman, who has no patience for the rampant narcisstic rage and denial some fellow AGP‘s display.

SophoclesTheFox · 28/09/2018 11:38

Ah, bollocks, I've derailed and been sucked in.

Sorry, sorry, sorry everyone.

LittlePearl · 28/09/2018 11:40

Emailed TM to give my support to Posie.

Looking at Twitter I'd say there's much more support there than I feared..... I think it's great that PP doesn't crumble in the face of the relentless 'Be nice, Be kind....' pressure, but was worried her forthrightness might alienate people.

Actually it looks as though the opposite is true. Relieved about that!

OVAgroundWOMBlingfree · 28/09/2018 11:40

Is anyone able to record this on their phone from +1? Particularly the Eamon Holmes police officer comments.

Oneofthe177000 · 28/09/2018 11:40

First ever message to say, that was ridiculous and pretty vacuous. Might point more people to FWR board though - I found it only after Jeremy Corbyn told Andrew Marr with a straight face that TWAW...had no idea this was going on before then, very much ‘what’s the fuss, live let live etc’. So ‘thanks’ mumsnet for educating me!

AngryAttackKittens · 28/09/2018 11:41

The people who think the Twitter response to Posie is mostly negative must be reading a different thread to me, because I'm seeing a few woke young people and the odd bloke who wants to punch uppity women telling her off and the majority saying she's right.

noeffingidea · 28/09/2018 11:42

Yes, bit of an own goal from Eammon there. A lot of people are going to think 'perve' when they hear that bit about self IDing TW strip searching women.
The truth always comes out in the end.

lissie123 · 28/09/2018 11:42

Please tell me that the This Morning Team really don’t think it is acceptable that a transgender male police officer can perform an intimate examination of a female because he is a trans woman? I can’t believe the bias and weak questioning by Eamonn and Ruth sympathising with India's “journey". So disappointing. Why can't women be recognised for being women? Why are we always being told to budge up by men and make yet more room for them?

Shame on them for thinking that the India's “journey" was far more important than addressing the real issues of the erasure of women and their spaces which are being invaded by men or faux men who look and appear to be women but are biologically male.

Where our our rights??

ToeToToe · 28/09/2018 11:43

I'm re-watching it now on +1. Dh decided to phone during it the first time so I missed a chunk.

Posie was good - it wasn't the slam-dunk that the Harrop piece was boy, did he have his arse handed to him but she made her points really well.

And as I said, it was three against one.

Somerville · 28/09/2018 11:43

I wonder if any of you who know Posie might see if she’s interested in pursuing a bit of media training. Her high profile (beyond feminist circles) has happened so fast that I suspect she hasn’t had time for any or much. She clearly has an excellent brain in her head and the bravery to voice her thoughts. So she’s 90% there. (Just to emphasise, this is not a criticism; everyone will be able to deal with live television interviews - better after media training.)

arranfan · 28/09/2018 11:44

AAK wrote: people supportive of the trans activist position think that if someone male identifies as a woman then they should have the right to stick their hands inside women's vaginas regardless of how much the women in question protest. That's what's coming for women if trans activists get what they want.

I am sick reading that. How is this different from any of the abuses practised in every repressive regime in the world that we've ever been told to deplore? Isn't this sort of state-sanctioned abuse that, allowed to flourish, just requires a permissive environment to lead to the horrors of the gulag that was promised to GC women so recently by the Goldsmith Twitter account?

AngryAttackKittens · 28/09/2018 11:44

They went with the "but why don't you like our mate India here?" angle because that was the only one with any chance of making Posie look unreasonable. Personalize it so it becomes a debate about India rather than about what all this means on a society wide level.

WetWang · 28/09/2018 11:46

Well that went just how I expected it to go. I admire Posie for holding her temper with those simpering fools. Eamon was his usual twattish self and Ruth was no better. India Twatface has obviously practised the coy "poor little old me trapped in a mans body" look. We see you and you don't fool us for one minute. This Mornings facebook page is also full of idiots .

arranfan · 28/09/2018 11:47

This is uncanny. Lisa Muggeridge has just done a vlog on this being all about the identity of the abuser/narcissist and your own identity is steam-rollered.

Wretchedly, this self-idealised identity applies to both IW and Eamonn here.

MipMipMip · 28/09/2018 11:49

As well as thread there's the hashtag #thismorning. I am spending far too much time on them both answering people. No idea if I'm getting anywhere.

NewWomensMovement · 28/09/2018 11:49

I though Posie was fantastic there! Wow!
There was so much emotional blackmail and attempts to centre males in women's concerns but she had such poise keeping it focussed on women.
She was great! StarFlowers

AngryAttackKittens · 28/09/2018 11:49

Also, our new friend Princess clearly knew what the format of this show was going to be before it aired. What that tells us is that the batsignal went out to TRAs about what was planned. Princess couldn't resist the urge to come and taunt us.

Next time one of them does that we need to have our own backchannels set up in such a way that someone can get the word over to Posie/whoever else is being interviewed that that's what they should be prepping for.

TheCountessofFitzdotterel · 28/09/2018 11:50

'that makes me terrified to leave the house should I accidentally commit a crime and require a search.'

You don't have to have committed a crime. I was randomly searched at the railway station a few years ago because there was a heightened terrorist threat and they were doing random searches.
Didn't mind at all, it was a woman pc just doing her job. It would have been horrible if it was a man.

Datun · 28/09/2018 11:52

Eamonn - it is not okay for a male police officer to get his hand up my fanny because he's decided he's got ladyfeelz. You fucking disgusting misogynist.

Lang. I hear ya. We're all raging.

And this is it, isn't it? Those three tossers have just poured gallons of oil on the glowing coals of women's emerging outrage.

I used to say that as soon as people understood about AGP, the tide would turn. Or safeguarding being dismantled. Or children being mutilated. All we need is sunlight.

The truth is, it's everything, all of the above.

Posie Parker has just said on national telly that transwomen are men

And Eamonn Holmes has dismissed sexual assault on women as collateral damage for disagreeing with her.

The Overton window is absolutely in freefall.

Posie is going to be absolutely everywhere.

This is IT. We're strapped in, the roof's down, and Posie's foot is on the gas.

AngryAttackKittens · 28/09/2018 11:55

Did they fire all their copy editors?

The poster beared the Google definition of the word

NoSquirrels · 28/09/2018 11:55

The issue is everyone wants to personalise and individualise this general legal issue.

What is a woman in law? What rights does an adult human female have in law?

It’s not about India’s “journey”. It’s not about what shelter India should go to if she was raped (that made me REALLY mad).

It’s about - do women as a sex class have distinct rights separate from men as a sex class?

If not, why not?

Brontelot · 28/09/2018 11:55

I think the disappointing thing in the This Morning interview especially, is that it was pitched as such a personal attack against trans people and IW particularly, and PP did not explain the wider ramifications in terms of 'woman as a feeling'. The general public have no idea what this actually means in practise [transwomen in sports, prisons, refuges] and the gender stereotypes in the ideas behind a ladybrain. All they will see unfortunately is PP being a nasty woman and poor IW, doing her very best not to rant, being the victim.
