Posie Parker will be on This Morning tomorrow.

Not sure which TRA/AWA will be provided for her to chew up and spit out though.

Exactly that Datun. The Overton window is shifting our way.

I'm bussed into my workplace - international teacher - & twice this week colleagues have opened conversations because of stuff like the Guides & the billboard.

Both basically saying 'Have you seen this? Obviously I don't have a problem with transpeople but fucking hell!'

I used to get handed my arse by my entire FB FL if ever I said anything remotely GC. Now people are liking & sharing posts.

We just need to keep on buggering on.

littlbrowndog · 28/09/2018 11:11

Yeah think the message got through
You can’t change sex
That’s the message I heard
As for that guy interviewer - hasn’t a clue has he
Imagine telling a rape victim to get a taxi next time. How about telling rapists not to fucking rape

Juells · 28/09/2018 11:12

Don't check out twitter, the TRAs and inclusive feminists are out in force.

pennydrew · 28/09/2018 11:12

Re Social media comments, you really can’t get an accurate gauge of what the general public think based on that. For many reasons, such as the ‘community standards’ BS & GC women getting removed, but also a lot of people that think like us will not say so online, or are not on social media-especially twitter.

OVAgroundWOMBlingfree · 28/09/2018 11:12

Just got through and told them how outraged I was at Eamon’s comments and exactly how many women stand with PP.

RosiePosies · 28/09/2018 11:14

I watched the segment with an open mind as this whole anti trans thing is new to me and, as someone who grew up in a very liberal city with a large LGBTQ community, I was intrigued.

To be honest I feel absolutely none the wiser. If anything I've been very put off looking into this 'feminist chat' any more. There wasn't really a discussion was there? It seems there is no discussion to have I suppose on the feminism side - it's black and white. Which is hard because I understand both sides point of view, as both a woman who is aware of the threat men pose to us and a person with trans friends who are wonderful people on extremely painful journeys.

ToeToToe · 28/09/2018 11:14

TwistedStitch - that This Morning twitter thread is very supportive of Posie. I wonder why Ruth would say on air that she had no support on their social media?

TwistedStitch · 28/09/2018 11:14

Loving Harrop angry at This Morning for giving Posie airtime when it was his misogynistic campaign that made this a story in the first place. Prat.

hackmum · 28/09/2018 11:14

You really can’t get an accurate gauge of what the general public think based on that.

I guess not, but it was fascinating to see the comments on the Sky News clip of the interview with Posie and Harrop. I'd say that both on the Twitter Feed and on the YouTube clip, at least 90% of comments were in support of Posie.

jarhead123 · 28/09/2018 11:15

No idea who she is?!

AngryAttackKittens · 28/09/2018 11:15

Bisons! And yeah, that was the "failed with Posey, let's try to get them to shun Lisa" thread.

OVAgroundWOMBlingfree · 28/09/2018 11:15

No there wasn’t much discussion because it all came back to India’s feelings and telling Kellie-Jay off for being a naughty, nasty girl.

TwistedStitch · 28/09/2018 11:17

Posie also managed to get Karen White, Pip Bunce and that police officer into the debate. Good for her. IW was extremely dismissive of the women sexually assaulted in prison.

Barracker · 28/09/2018 11:17

Obviously a complete biased set up.

But important to push that Overton window back.

Transwomen are not women, they are men.
Women are allowed to be angry.

People heard these perfectly truthful and reasonable statements said out loud on TV today.
We haven't heard them said for too long.

It will start to shift things. People will start giving themselves permission to say it too.

UrsulaPandress · 28/09/2018 11:18

Yes it is black and white and I really don't understand why it keeps slipping into the grey.

Humans cannot change sex.

OVAgroundWOMBlingfree · 28/09/2018 11:18

Also worth keeping an eye on TRAs playing the twitter thread algorithm.

littlbrowndog · 28/09/2018 11:18

But a few months ago a women would not have been ALLOWED to say what posie said on national telly that she didn’t agree that trans women were women

TheCountessofFitzdotterel · 28/09/2018 11:18

Omg, that twitter thread linked a few posts up is 90+ % pro Kellie.
A few posts about what a horrible person she is but the majority think she's right.

GulagsMyArse · 28/09/2018 11:19

Right I have rang them and complained about bias and sexism.
An opportunity missed to really discuss the issues was missed, by persistantly asking Kelly to be empathetic and nice. Would a man have been treated like this??

Missed opportunity to discuss that the definition " Woman adult human female" is now considered hate crime and the absurdity of it. Why was that not discussed??

And that a male police officer with male body is given the right to intimately search woman, was just basically skipped over.

The whole thing was a sexist pile on.

I was a bit ranty to start with, then calmed down and the woman was very helpful that I spoke to and will pass on comments.

ceecee32 · 28/09/2018 11:19

Blimey I have never complained to Ofcom before but twice in a couple of months .... I must be turning into an activist.

TwistedStitch · 28/09/2018 11:19

And IW was raging against Pip Bunce on twitter the other day. Not willing to agree with Posie about it on TV though?

LangCleg · 28/09/2018 11:19

Fucking good mind to join Twitter just to call Eamonn a sexual abuse apologist. Jesus fucking Christ, I'm raging.

Eamonn - it is not okay for a male police officer to get his hand up my fanny because he's decided he's got ladyfeelz. You fucking disgusting misogynist.

deepwatersolo · 28/09/2018 11:20

Princes believe me, the oppressed, ‚brown‘ Muslim community ain‘t too thrilled about the idea of bepenised ‚women‘ either. Also: do you consider single mothers, economically a very marginalized group, privileged?

Maybe women don‘t become autogynephiles, just because they don‘t have the privilege to play Dressup and watch porn, but are busy working (often unpaid), most of their waking time. Ever thought of that?

CaptainKirkssparetupee · 28/09/2018 11:20

There wasn't really a discussion was there?

No, this is the problem, it's two side with two massive extremes neither of which will meet in the middle.

Discussion is needed, but no one will let it happen.

Look at the new girl guides outlines, they are terrible as the take rights away from various groups. But no one will discuss them, because any critisism of them is shot down as hate speech.
Any girls feeling uncomfortable about showering with a transgirl will be reeducated... Rather than arrangements being made. No one should be forced to shower with anyone they don't want to.

The scouts Guidelines on the other hand are far better all round, so it can be done in a way that is respectful to everyone, The Girl Guides refuse to discuss safeguarding too.

This is taken out on the Extreme Activists (on both sides)

And no progress is ever made.
