Ocado boycott after support of Primesight action

On discovering today that Ocado are continuing to use Primesight after they removed Standing For Women's billboard, thereby showing they have no respect for women or our rights, I have emailed them to tell them that I will no longer shop with them as they support misogyny. I'm just wondering how many others have done the same and hoping this thread gets picked up by twitter and/or the press.

The think is they will do a 360 degree head spin and throw money at some savvy PR person to put out a statement and the only reason they will do it is because if this spreads their share price will nose dive. When they do does that mean we go back to shopping there or do other companies need to be sent a message to not go down the route of alienating women.

Charliethefeminist · 26/09/2018 09:05

Wouldn't there be an uptick if we all buy now,, just to sell?

Carriemac · 26/09/2018 09:06

I have sent Ocado a complaint email. I
Dear Ocado - II have cancelled my membership. I spend 6 k per year on groceries etc with you .

So Ocado,t there will be thousands of lurkers who will not write to you but will just quietly drop their business and remember you as a company not to deal with. Women like me with the main shopping budget. So I suggest you respond quickly and tell us why your values are so different to those of your actual customers.

DrinkFeckArseGirls · 26/09/2018 09:06

Oh no Sad my go to shop - £100 per week! Off to cancel.

StealthNinjaMum · 26/09/2018 09:06

@maplessglobe I found on their website last night a very generic pr email - think it was something [email protected] and an external agency. Ideally I'd like a named contact but this is better than noting.

I have no idea how I will find the CEO, I think there are websites with CEO information on. Will look later.

DrinkFeckArseGirls · 26/09/2018 09:07

What email address is also best to use? Otherwise it’ll just to to cystomer servuces who let’s be honest don’t guve a shit!

Charliethefeminist · 26/09/2018 09:07

I highly doubt a 360 - there are powerful wealthy people on the other side who will punish them severely if they row back. They should have kept quiet. Lose-lose for Ocado.

GulagMilkMonitor · 26/09/2018 09:07

Dear Ocado - I know you track your online mentions - in case it isn't clear this is one of mumsnet's most popular areas - 177k women a month and I would imagine growing massively every time some bugger decides to throw women under a bus.

And I believe that figure is just users entering the site via the Feminism sub-forum not including the users who navigate to this area once on the site.

Ratner!

StealthNinjaMum · 26/09/2018 09:08

I could feasibly waste some money on shares - but would my money be better off helping another feminist group?

EverardDigby · 26/09/2018 09:10

I used to regularly shop with Ocado, haven't for ages though I still get offer emails. I'd shop with them again if they came out with a strong message that supports women (adult human females).

GulagMilkMonitor · 26/09/2018 09:10

It depends on how many people sell, the price will fall so you will probably lose money. But if a blip on the stock market doesn't make them think twice nothing will.

It sounds ridiculous but I don’t care about losing money over this. I’ll consider it a donation to the future of my children and women’s rights.

sashh · 26/09/2018 09:11

It depends, small amounts over couple of weeks probably won't have much impact on the price. I am no expert on this.

I got the SIPP for 'fun', I had a number of small pensions with £100 - £500 pounds in, transferred them into a Sipp and 'play'.

If there is someone who is a stock broker can you help with the logistics?

TimeLady · 26/09/2018 09:11

These seem to be the contact details for the CEO

www.ceoemail.com/s.php?id=ceo-9101

StealthNinjaMum · 26/09/2018 09:12

media contacts here, investor relations and marketing contacts. Not named contacts but it would be more likely to get to someone than the general email address which will have a million enquiries about why a delivery's late or why they've stopped doing a certain brand of cat food for example.

Thank you TimeLady

Companies house lists directors, it costs about £2 to get info.

Free... Look under people.

PhilippaFawcett · 26/09/2018 09:16

I am a very loyal customer and shareholder. Have sent them a strongly worded email but also love the idea of nominating Posie (or someone similar) as a proxy at the next shareholder meeting. Has anyone volunteered?

Molokonono · 26/09/2018 09:18

I'd love a shareholder to ask Posey to attend the next shareholders meeting.

When is that?

ErrolTheDragon · 26/09/2018 09:19

Ocado is FTSE 100 company (god help us... a food delivery company? Hmm). I doubt that you'd cause a perceptible blip either way.

Nosublettingmyspace · 26/09/2018 09:22

I have been lurking on these threads for a while. I was always a 'let people be who they want to be' person until I realised at what cost this would be to women.

My Ocado smart pass has been cancelled. Fortunately my dd decided she didn't want to go back to Brownies after the Summer holiday.

DrinkFeckArseGirls · 26/09/2018 09:24

They have a press office email? Would that be any good?

wiccamum · 26/09/2018 09:24

Currently trying to cancel my account. I’ve been put on hold as all enquiries regarding the billboard are forwarded to a manager....
