Ocado boycott after support of Primesight action

On discovering today that Ocado are continuing to use Primesight after they removed Standing For Women's billboard, thereby showing they have no respect for women or our rights, I have emailed them to tell them that I will no longer shop with them as they support misogyny. I'm just wondering how many others have done the same and hoping this thread gets picked up by twitter and/or the press.

I wish Primeshite was on Trustpilot.

*Nul Points.
Zhey accepted our poster, swizzed us out of £700 by accusing us of a
Harroped up hate crime, and on this pretext, took down said poster whilst selling on the paid for billboard space, to another advertiser. *

So having emailed Wednesday asking for my account and details to be deleted I have had an email today full of offers !
I only had the bog standard we will reply within 24 hours email, but should they have removed my details by now ?

Cuntysnark · 28/09/2018 09:56

A thought...

For anybody who has been marketed to, or has been a customer you can demand all of the data that they have on you through a subject access request (may be called something else now) which since GDPR in may us free. They have about a month to respond but if enough people were to request it might IT & compliance departments busy...

borntobequiet · 28/09/2018 09:58

I got an email to Dear ! No title!
The cheek of it. I emailed straight back berating them for their lack of courtesy.

It's not just computer data either, if you have been filmed on a delivery dash cam or they have recorded a phone call.

Cuntysnark · 28/09/2018 10:08

Gosh they really would be very very busy...

sashh · 28/09/2018 10:19

I've done data protection requests a couple of times, it can be quite enlightening.

I found out that one of my uni tutors made an appointment at the disabled students support office to ask them if I really was dyslexic.

Mark Thomas had people do some interesting and amusing stuff back in the 1990s.

WoodrowWilson · 28/09/2018 10:52

Delurking to say that I have also just cancelled my Smart Pass and asked Ocado to remove all my details from their database. I've said that until they include Sex as one of the protected characteristics in their Equal Opportunities Policy I won't use them.

I've been lazy and have used them for pretty much everything, so that's thousands of £ a year (large family, and host friends at home a lot). It will do me good to diversify my shopping habits.

AsAProfessionalFekko · 28/09/2018 11:33

Trustpilot score... 5.2

AsAProfessionalFekko · 28/09/2018 11:35

Only seem to be answering the reviews that don't specify why they are giving one star or for reviews that are about late deliveries or torn bags etc.

AsAProfessionalFekko · 28/09/2018 11:45

AL - I saw what you did there!

MnerXX · 28/09/2018 11:59

I have used them a couple of times so I have asked them to remove my details from their database until they make a public apology.

The piss poor response here suggests to me a real lack of management capacity and an over-confident and arrogant executive.
It's just a complete failure to engage. I'd bet the customer service department has been left to its own devices on this. There's no senior comment at all. "Let the typing pool deal with the angry housewives and let's all go play golf" no?

Coldallthetime · 28/09/2018 13:29

@turph
Or, have they not alerted senior management?

tlove · 28/09/2018 13:32

Can I use Waitrose?

DrinkFeckArseGirls · 28/09/2018 13:40

Out of all companies to disappoint this one hurts the most! Always on time, no stupid substitutes if any at all. I'm a dairy and wheat free low carver, DD is dairy and gluten free (yes, there is a difference between gluten and wheat free Grin) - they had all out of things we could buy that let our diets resemble "normal" - especially important for my DD.
Now I'll be splitting between Tesco and Waitrose but since I don't trust Tesco delivery, I'll have to drive there Sad daily mail face.

YogaDrone · 28/09/2018 13:45

Waitrose are free with 1hr delivery slots and their Christmas slots are now available (apologies for mentioning the C word Grin ).

Emerencealwayshopeful · 28/09/2018 13:53

Out of curiosity, has anyone asked to record the ‘apology’ phone call? I’m not sure what the laws in the UK are about recordings but I imagine even asking if the call can be recorded might be fun.

I definitely like the idea of making foi (or data something or whatever that is called over there) requests. This has an added benefit of forcing the company to employ more people to do the IT stuff, and with unemployment where it is that’s not a bad thing. It would only work if lots of people asked for the information at the same time.

I’m cheering you from Australia, where nobody seems to notice how TRAs are just MRAs in unicorn costumes.

CaptainKirkssparetupee · 28/09/2018 13:55

Yes record it, what they are doing by phoning people is making it hard to prove what they say, recorded the phone call and get a paper trail.

DrinkFeckArseGirls · 28/09/2018 13:57

But aren't all their calls recorded?

CaptainKirkssparetupee · 28/09/2018 13:59

But aren't all their calls recorded?

I've just read a trustpilot review where someone asked for a recording of the call and was told they couldn't send on as they didn't record it.

DrinkFeckArseGirls · 28/09/2018 14:02

ah, right, thanks.

NotZenEnough · 28/09/2018 14:19

Just caught up
On this thread and was about to cancel Ocado order permanently but thought I'd give them a last chance. Asked for written response. They replied within two minutes. Wonder whether their public statement will be enough...,.....

You can record the call but you can't make it public afterwards unless it is in the public interest.
Coldallthetime
I should imagine senior management must know about this by now? Perhaps we should be asking what happened to the tweeter, considering Ocado have distanced themselves from the political comment.
