Ocado boycott after support of Primesight action

On discovering today that Ocado are continuing to use Primesight after they removed Standing For Women's billboard, thereby showing they have no respect for women or our rights, I have emailed them to tell them that I will no longer shop with them as they support misogyny. I'm just wondering how many others have done the same and hoping this thread gets picked up by twitter and/or the press.

Cuntysnark it really is an obscene amount of money to run a business isn't it? Even a few million a year might be justifiable if he was amazing but that kind of money is just obscene.
Just proves he doesn't give a monkey's about this - he could have backtracked the whole thing and still had millions upon millions. No personal risk. Maybe he thinks women aren't adult human females at all?

colouringinpro · 27/09/2018 22:10

Just spotted another company to avoid: The Diva Cup. Their advert on Twitter (Sorry don't know how to screenshot) talks about "The average person having 400 periods". Person! WTF! And they're marketing to women but can't call us Women?!

Makes me furious.

If you're on Twitter check out @TheDivaCup

Cuntysnark · 27/09/2018 22:10

I doubt he gives the smallest of shits...

gilchrist168 · 27/09/2018 22:13

I've emailed customer services, and unsubscribed.
Told them why they will not be getting my Christmas order.
According to " Laura" someone will get back to me within 24 hours.
I'm not really arsed "Laura"
hth
Oh..I've been on Trustpilot Angry

Turph · 27/09/2018 22:13

Does that mean the average woman has 800 periods? Seeing as just under half the population is male?
That would be factually incorrect as thankfully that is too many.
So if the average woman has 400, the average person has 200?

I am keeping in mind that it was not Ocado's action that removed the poster. All they did, rightly or wrongly, was to accept the word of a third party company that had removed it.

I feel that the anger has switched from Primesight to Ocado on the strength of this. It feels to me as though this is being deliberately whipped up now.

I am also keeping in mind that it was one representative of the company that sent those tweets and they have since been deleted so obviously they are not standing by what that representative posted.

I just think this huge power we seem to have in our spending power should be targeted sensibly towards a company more deserving than one that simply got caught in the cross-fire.

colouringinpro · 27/09/2018 22:21

God knows Turph! Some of the replies on Twitter are pretty powerful Grin

gilchrist168 · 27/09/2018 22:23

All they had to do was to make a statement Tanith, but they can't, that's what is pissing me off.
I think that they have long enough.
I'm off elsewhere.

RepealtheGRA · 27/09/2018 22:28

I don’t know if the Majority of Primesights customers are Adult Human Females, but Ocado’s definitely are.

Primesight are rightly taking a kicking on twitter and Ocado are rightly taking a kicking on here.

AsAProfessionalFekko · 27/09/2018 22:31

From trust pilot: Are you all on glue in Head Office?

OK which one of you was it?

TallulahWaitingInTheRain · 27/09/2018 22:32

Have you lot seen this?

Beagadorsrock · 27/09/2018 22:32

I was waiting for a statement. It hasn't appeared. I've cancelled my SmartPass and will not be shopping with them anymore. We have Sainsburys, Waitrose, Aldi and Lidl where i am to choose from, and two of those deliver...

Xiaoxiong · 27/09/2018 22:35

Well the reason that Ocado is in the crosshairs is that Primesight's customers are other businesses not consumers, whereas Ocado is consumer facing and 80+% female customers to boot. Ocado didn't just get caught in the cross-fire, they were foolish enough to make their ongoing business relationship with Primesight a statement about their own corporate values being aligned with those of Primesight on this exact issue.

PerverseConverse · 27/09/2018 23:02

This thread is amazing! I never imagined there'd be such a massive response. The Trustpilot reviews are fab. Wonder how the shares are today....

No response on email.

Tanith, I do understand what you are saying. But Ocado are the company we have to hand, and as well as every other fuckup they don't understand that "sex" is a protected characteristic in law. Not only that, they are (under)paying women to try to screw money out of other women to cover up their shite, while their CEO has a nice wank at the Presidents Club bash.

Frankly I don't give a shit.

TheMostBeautifulDogInTheWorld · 27/09/2018 23:17

I feel I may not have put enough bad language in that post.

colouringinpro · 27/09/2018 23:19

Trustpilot reviews made me Grin

NowtSalamander · 27/09/2018 23:30

I got an apologetic message On voicemail, so I’ll phone them tomorrow. I’m going to say that a public statement is needed before my finger stops hovering over the Waitrose online button.

Ideally I’d like a public statement of the “that tweeter was clearly deranged - women are adult female humans” variety but to be honest I’ll accept one that just says: we cocked up, we should not be commenting on political issues.

Hopefully they’ll see sense. I’m already in a spin from being a Spectator subscriber now, if I leave Ocado my entire identity is in question.Grin

ChasingGhosts · 28/09/2018 00:15

This is what I got

Ocado boycott after support of Primesight action
RepealtheGRA · 28/09/2018 00:22

Have female employees of Ocado got a case for discrimination as their employer doesn’t recognise SEX as a protected characteristic?

ChasingGhosts · 28/09/2018 00:33

I've sent quite a lengthy reply

Redkeyboard · 28/09/2018 00:40

So Ocado have responded by saying they don’t recognise sex as important even though in law they have to? Gender my arse

OlennasWimple · 28/09/2018 00:48

I've just been reading the Trustpilot reviews, and feel a little sorry for Jeremy Lunn, who in the midst of many many reviews pointing out Ocado's decision to align with woke bro misogynists, posted his own one star review:

The delivery man was pleasant but the quality of the food was poor and overpriced. I had 2 loaves of bread dated 1 and 2 days after my delivery, the bananas I ordered were all split open, the apples were soft and mushy. The ready meals were small and again short dated, the ham was tissue paper thin and overpriced.
I wouldn’t shop with them again

Grin
Charliethefeminist · 28/09/2018 01:07

One person slightly missed the mark saying that 'because you are woman-hating beasts (paraphrase) I won't shop with you any more despite the fact that your delivery men are never late, there are few if any substitutions, the products are marvellous and the service is fab'

Now that's a sacrifice, she sounds rent, but srsly - great ad

All you former Ocado customers should get together and organise a Mumsnet inspired 'Spa Day' with the savings dumping them will bring
