Ocado boycott after support of Primesight action

On discovering today that Ocado are continuing to use Primesight after they removed Standing For Women's billboard, thereby showing they have no respect for women or our rights, I have emailed them to tell them that I will no longer shop with them as they support misogyny. I'm just wondering how many others have done the same and hoping this thread gets picked up by twitter and/or the press.

Thanks for letting me know about this. I've cancelled my Ocado order and cancelled my subscription. Back to Tesco for me.

Did he apologise for attending the 'gropey' dinner or was he a other that turned up late, left early and 'saw nothing'?

BrisaOtonal · 26/09/2018 12:36

I can't see that they have lost 36% of their value?

PenguindreamsofDraco · 26/09/2018 12:37

I've tried to call a few times now and the phone goes down as soon as it's picked up, so I am imagining them rather besieged right now!

Xiaoxiong · 26/09/2018 12:37

sassh I'm seeing they're down 1.5% or so today currently at 893.4p, where you buy your shares that they're down 36%? I mean, I hope the share price takes a beating, but I'm not seeing a drop of that magnitude today.

I really hope this gets Ocado's attention!! I spend hundreds of pounds a month with them, Christmas, Smart Pass, the works.

sashh · 26/09/2018 12:39

poster Xiaoxiong

Maybe, I just clicked o the % and it showed down 36%, maybe they are including the fees in the 'paid' price.

StayOutOfTheForrest · 26/09/2018 12:40

Where is the tweet as I can't find it on their timeline?

Molokonono · 26/09/2018 12:43

Tweet has gone. Do a search and the whole of the top comments are about this. Pages and pages.

sashh · 26/09/2018 12:43

Sorry just had a look, it's telling me the price today is down 1.57% but the value of my 2 shares is down 36%, I think they have included the cost of buying the shares.

Value is £17.85 cost was £28.05

If the share price really takes a dive that will get media attention more than anything else.

StayOutOfTheForrest · 26/09/2018 12:58

So the tweet is gone.... Hmmmm...

I have just cancelled my SmartPass. I'll try Waitrose for a few weeks, and see if Ocado has anything to say.

MickHucknallspinkpancakes · 26/09/2018 13:04

Ladies, i don't live in the UK so I can't boycott Ocado, but I am whooping with joy over post after post of string women, sick of being bullied, taking the fight back to the misogynistic faux woke.

I'm looking into buying a few shares.

I'm supposed to come home for a holiday this Christmas and I usually do an online delivery to wherever we are staying - I'll see if I can set up a Christmas delivery and cancel it.

MickHucknallspinkpancakes · 26/09/2018 13:04

Strong women, not string Grin

DontCisgenderMe · 26/09/2018 13:21

I've just messaged them on live chat from the website, asking why 'adult human female' does not align with their values, and informing them that as an adult human female grocery-shopper, I would not be giving my business to misogynists.

I waited ages until a reply popped up. It didn't answer my question (of course), just said that my response would be passed on.

Whilst waiting, I did an online Tesco order.

SuperSange · 26/09/2018 13:21

Have the comments been removed from The Times website? I commented earlier but they're all hidden now.

HappyInL0nd0n · 26/09/2018 13:26

Called Ocado myself just now to let them know I am very concerned to learn they have an issue with the dictionary definition of the term 'woman.'

Spoke to Shannon who told me meetings were ongoing and a statement will follow. She said they are: 'very sorry for any offence caused' and 'wouldn't like to lose my custom.' I asked her to pass on the feedback that I will be watching the outcome of this very closely, and I won't hesitate to cancel my family's smart pass membership if I find Ocado is a company whose values do not align with my own.

This madness has to stop and I'm not giving c. £100 per week to a company who support the bullying and silencing of polite, rational women. Shame, because I've been with them for four years now. I particularly like their 'donate cash and they contribute goods to double the value to homeless shelters' - we contribute £2.50 to that every week.

GulagMilkMonitor · 26/09/2018 13:28

Just did a £276 shop with Sainsbury’s.

Hear hear.

I don't use Ocado but it's brilliant that so many are stopping their custom and I'm cheering you all on.

womanformallyknownaswoman · 26/09/2018 13:29

you all are awesome!! This is definitely the best way to show women have had enough with their boundaries being violated - go girls...

And let's see the next misogynist organisation take on women - who, btw, are responsible for 80% of all consumer purchases

tenbob · 26/09/2018 13:35

I've had an email confirming my SmartPass has been cancelled, and the reasons why are being passed onto management, and also telling me I will get 12 months of free SmartPass if i decide to come back...

OrchidInTheSun · 26/09/2018 13:37

I've just emailed them to cancel my SmartPass and tell them to take my details off their database.

Carrrotsandcauliflower · 26/09/2018 13:38

I don’t shop with them but I am happy to boycott any products or services that are complicit in this. Let’s have a list.

Farahilda · 26/09/2018 13:38

Sainsbury share price also down today (actually, only v small movements for any, on the version I've just checked). So I wouldn't read that much in to it.

A bit of noise online won't spook anyone, but investors are likely to be ruthless if there is damage to sales. However, that may not mean ruin, look at Nestle - one of the best known and longest sustained boycotts- aheir price is up today.
