Gosh. Never thought I’d be applauding piers Morgan, but we live in interesting times. Caroline excellent. SG still pushing incorrect info unchallenged- but looked very weak.

Someone on Twitter has made a very good point that there are rules (when it comes to social housing at least) regarding boys and girls sharing bedrooms at home. Quick google shows NSPCC recommends that children 10 and over of different sex should not share a room.

This mantra 'It doesn't matter because they're children' will interest girls and women who've been raped or sexually assaulted by boys of 16 and under, won't it? And girls and women who ever had sexual relationships with boys of 16 and under? The notion that no trans person could ever do anything unpleasant is as stupid as it is untruthful.

Guiding leader here. Aghast at Girlguiding. Will not be leaving though. I might be very misguided but the more that leave, the more room for people who might have disturbing intentions to work their way in.

Some one really needs to explain to mermaids that children commmit sexual abuse and upnto 20% of men have commmitted acts of sexual abuse and NOT ONE of them put a sign on their forehead to make the women aware before the event. We have no way to distinguish the good guy from the bad guy because they bad guys lie.that is why we have segregation. Sex segregation treats trans exactly the same as another other child. Letting a transgril in with th girls is treating them differently

@MNHQ - why can't we do paragraphs any more?

will interest girls and women who've been raped or sexually assaulted by boys of 16 and under, won't it? yep! I was sexually assaulted by boys in my teens and a girl I who went to school with was raped by a boy in her form at a “unisex sleepover” in about 1997. She became pregnant and a teen mother because another child raped her.

Pretty sure 'Doctor Who is a woman now' is going to be used as 'evidence' humans can change sex too.

Ha! I remember posting somewhere on here that it would be GG that would bring the whole nonsensical trans edifice tumbling down. Hopefully that's the case.

Slightly off topic. Kept the TV on after Piers to hear Lorraine discussing autumn fashion. Apparently colourful balaclavas are going to be in this season's must have. Great for hiding the Adams apple, stubble and manly jaw. Grin

IT is interesting that GG are not out there defending their position but leaving it up to trans activists who, with the best will in the world, do not have GirlGuiding at the heart of their motivations at all. Piers Morgan can vie with JHB for the interviewer who asks the most hard hitting questions. John Humphrys and the rest of the BBC have left the field wide open there.

Mermaids are playing the likes and retweets algorithm to bounce their replies to the top of the thread underneath that tweet.

I didn't catch the start of the debate so maybe it was mentioned but I wish that just for once someone would say rather than focus on that one person and why their feelings trump all else, why not focus on the feelings of all the girls and whether they want to get changed and sleep in a tent with a boy. I'm so fucking over girls and women being used to treat someone else's dysphoria or indulge someone else's exploration of their "gender identity". We should not have to be collateral damage.

That's the kind of thing that NSPCC should have been prepared to answer questions about when they came to do their Facebook chat.

I missed it but I'm really glad it's got air time. Transgirls are still boys, whatever they say. The whole self ID notion is ridiculous. It used to be called 'pretending'.

Yes, Melamin, it is indeed curious that GG does not defend its position - except for some apodictic 'transgirls are girls' and 'we followed procedures' statement on social media.

Either they are digging in a la 'this is not even a discussion, so why should we discuss it', or they have been caught off-guard regarding saeguarding questions and their duties in that respect (outlined in latest Lisa Muggeridge video).

BiologyMatters: "why not focus on the feelings of all the girls and whether they want to get changed and sleep in a tent with a boy." I agree about this. Although Helen did an excellent job yesterday on World At One, she made her case by talking about girls who had been sexually abused, girls from religious backgrounds etc, who wouldn't want to share a tent with boys. The simple truth is that teenage girls should not be forced to share a tent with teenage boys. It doesn't matter what the reason. Most of us don't want to get undressed in front of a member of the opposite sex, however harmless they are. I certainly wouldn't want to share a tent with an adult male, regardless of whether he wears a dress and calls himself Dora.

Melamin that is an excellent point. Where is Guiding's new CEO? This is huge national news at long last. Am surprised that they are leaving Susie Green to argue their point.

I didn't see the interview so thanks for this thread. It was great to follow from bed.

Did non GC girls/trans boys being pushed out/excluded from Guides come up at all?

BiologyMatters SG did say why... it's because they get the gold medal in the opression olympics.
VickyEadie thank you for asking! I was swearing at my phone thinking it was time to pack it in! Have been adding tons of blank spaces for some seperation.

If the first tweets under that GMB tweet are mermaids then everything else will get lost to anyone who is already committed to this battle and debate. Ideally we need to retweet/like the same tweet to amplify it.
