Just why?

Love this tweet: "So, you gave a woman’s award to a man? That’s so retro 1950’s of you, love the vintage twist you gave this!"

The twitter thread in whole:

Ah Pips! We meet again. Pips wins a lot of awards, as a woman, and also:

I have multiple roles at Credit Suisse and whilst they are very different jobs, the importance of culture and the significance of diversity and inclusion is key across all. I am a Director and head of Global Markets Core Engineering Strategic Programs which involves me driving many critical IT initiatives within the firm whilst heading a global team.

I am also the co-lead of our LGBT & Ally program which helps foster an open and inclusive work environment for all and engaging our thousands of LGBT Allies. I am also a proud member of many of our gender focused networks including our EMEA Women’s Network, our IT Women’s Council (where am a proud champion of Women in IT) and our BAME network.

I wonder if there is any correlation between roles and the days Pips feels, er, more feminine or masculine?

FermatsTheorem · 21/09/2018 08:43

He's a member of their BAME network too? Bloody hell, the guy's tendency to appropriation knows know bounds.

Anlaf · 21/09/2018 08:47

Pips (as Pippa) is also a member of the t girl community

"Here’s my pal, pretty princess Pippa (in one of her trademark prom dresses selected for her by her teenage daughter), showing you in"

suerichmond.blogspot.com/2013/

T girl seems to have a particular meaning, online, at least:

Time for The Lumberjack Song.

Ereshkigal · 21/09/2018 08:56

My theory is that they are so used to being considered second-class, worthless, etc, that they see this aping of womanhood as affirmation and complimentary.

This. I put a similar argument to a TRA the other day. His reaction was what MRAs describe as "white knighting". "How dare you say that about other women. I don't mind you insulting me but I'm not going to stand by and let you insult women who care about trans people"

SophoclesTheFox · 21/09/2018 08:57

Holy shit anlaf! Pips gets his daughter to pick dresses for him? Princess pippa?

Jesus.

CrackpotsArePots · 21/09/2018 08:59

Might

The Cure!

They loved a bit of eyeliner and lippy too. Never claimed to be women.

Anlaf · 21/09/2018 09:02

Yep sophocles

Pips got Pip's teenage daughter to pick out a dress for Pips to wear to work at the tgirl* bar at the Erotica sex and adult exhibition at London's Olynpia venue

suerichmond.blogspot.com/2013/12/tgirl-bar.html

*it turns out that tgirl is even more genital/sex heavy online than transgirl, should that be possible

Ereshkigal · 21/09/2018 09:02

The actual medical condition (which) involves different halves of the brain being differently sexed, and then flipflopping hemisphere dominance. Which is why people like him experience such off and on dysphoria and symptoms.

What is this "actual medical condition"? Given that there is no compelling evidence for "sexed brains" that is a groundbreaking finding!

Ereshkigal · 21/09/2018 09:03

Christ. It just gets better.

Consider my gast well and truly flabbered.

Though given all the other shit I've read over the years on the behaviour of these men, this is yet another a "shocked but sadly not surprised" moment.

Ereshkigal · 21/09/2018 09:10

I particularly liked this tweet Grin

TolstoyAteMyHamster · 21/09/2018 09:11

I am done with this shit. Where do I sign up to stand on the barricades? Fuck all of this nonsense. I hope Pippa has a happy and long life wearing whatever the hell Pippa wants but not at the expense of every hard earned right we have fought for. I am so second-wave feminist right now I’m going to buy some dungarees and stop doing the laundry.
Whoever said they were peak men is right - I lost my shit at work yesterday listening to a group of men I thought were decent suggesting to two younger women that #metoo had gone too far because men were suffering. Poor men with their poor hurty feelings. This is part of the same problem - we cannot have a voice or a place in society if it makes men feel shit. I am so over it.

ChattyLion · 21/09/2018 09:12

Pots exactly.

The Cure’s frontman Robert Smith (..who sang presciently about the shitness of people Jumping Someone Else’s Train..) and who criticised gender stereotyping via Boys Don’t Cry.. would now be considered trans by this same definition .. Hmm

MightyMike · 21/09/2018 09:12

Crackpotsarepots - of course, The Cure, not The Smiths.
Hanging my head in shame - as an old 80s girls I should have known this without thinking.
Loved the 80s rock and pop stars, when eye liner was just eye liner and cool and not a magic potion to make you into an actual woman.

Anlaf · 21/09/2018 09:12

Pips got Pip's teenage daughter to pick out a dress for Pips to wear to work at the tgirl bar at the Erotica sex and adult exhibition at London's Olynpia venue

In the interests of accuracy I must say that Erotica was actually held in 2013 at London's Tobacco Dock!

Tut.

Anyway.

Polly99 · 21/09/2018 09:16

I loved that tweet too Ereshkigal. WTF is the FT playing at, enabling this misogynistic bullshit?

nauticant · 21/09/2018 09:16

For anyone suggesting that Bunce's wife bears some responsibility for this nonsense, I would recommend you have a read of some of this:

ILuvBirdsEye · 21/09/2018 09:21

Is it the same medical condition that let's me pick trousers and shirt one day and a dress another day? Is that my man-brain doing the choosing?

And what happens when the woman half of the brain picks out trousers? Does it then pick out a girly top to go with it? Or is that rejected by the man half as being not girly enough nowadays? So is the man half policing what the women half is choosing?

Is Pippa being oppressed by Phillip and not allowed to choose what she wants to wear? Imagine the AIBU....

CrackpotsArePots · 21/09/2018 09:23

That brain condition must mean that he had one of his eyes shut when he chose that frock. And yes I know my grasp of brain anatomy is as dodgy as Pips'

Zeugma · 21/09/2018 09:24

That photo of Pips in the outfit Pips' daughter picked out Shock

To go back a bit - If u worked there if be doing work that would need photos and CVs

From the interview with the fragrant Pips:
I have a pass card that has photos of me as both Pippa and Phil on it. That took many, many months to get in place but at least I know that for subsequent people, this will be another obstacle already sorted

They've thought of everything, eh? Hmm

CrackpotsArePots · 21/09/2018 09:24

ILuv

I think when he's talking halves he's not talking top haf of brain. He's talking hemispheres.
