Just why?

Don't forget about him advising the Girl Guides!

So if Philip ever gets sacked can Pippa just turn up the next day and carry on?

Mmm I wonder. How do meetings take place.
John asking Pippa have you read that financial report I handed to you last week?

does Pippa get all flustered and tell John it was Phillip you handed it to not me Confused

Handsoffmyrights · 21/09/2018 00:04

Shit, not RTFT so apologies if already raised, but this Natwest award was actually promoted on Mumsnet. I commented on the thread at the time to enquire whether it was open to men. As did others. I think our concerns were deemed OTT

Oh, but it's only one. This hardly ever happens. We should show solidarity and rejoice at all the lovely inclusion because only one genuine female was displaced on the list, and she probably didn't mind stepping back for the brave and stunning Pips.

BesmirchingMotherhood · 21/09/2018 00:19

And on Pip days, I guess ‘other’ women in the workplace don’t mind sharing the toilets with Pip, what with him being a laydee n all, just all girls peeing together.

BesmirchingMotherhood · 21/09/2018 00:21

Do you know though, Pip is perfect for showing what’s wrong with self-ID, to MPs, newspapers, groups, any one you can.

Because no one is even trying to spin a ‘born in the wrong body’ type yarn here.

ErrolTheDragon · 21/09/2018 00:23

Female: of or denoting the sex that can bear offspring or produce eggs, distinguished biologically by the production of gametes (ova) which can be fertilized by male gametes.

Categorically not denoting a person of the sex that produces male gametes, even if he likes wearing a dress and a wig some of the time.

There is no way he should have ever been considered eligible for this award, and if he had any decency he'd have refused it (and the one before).

If he'd just be himself -gender fluid, expanding the boundaries of being a man, wearing frocks or suits to suit his mood - that would be so much better. Stop pretending to be a woman, Pips, there is nothing wrong with being a man in a frock. Be an honest man in a frock, you'll get a bit of real respect from women then. (But maybe that doesn't matter?)

Ineedacupofteadesperately · 21/09/2018 00:30

I'm just pissed off that apparently all he has to do to be a 'woman' is put on a grotesque dress. THAT IS NOT WHAT A FUCKING WOMAN IS. I never wear a dress but I'm definitely a woman cos I gestated and birthed two little humans. He doesn't have a uterus, ovaries, or a vagina so he's not a woman. FFS. What about all the shitwork and the mental load? Nope, he's not doing any of that.

Read that article upthread and it really is all about clothing and makeup for him. It's absolutely disgusting that wearing dresses and makeup qualifies him for womens' awards. Why can't he just be a man that wears dresses some days? I'd have time for that - expanding the bandwidth of what men wear and how they 'present'. But no, women have to budge up yet again.

pallisers · 21/09/2018 00:32

I’m not even peak-trans now. I’m peak men.

that made me laugh. So true. dh often agrees with me.

OldCrone · 21/09/2018 00:42

Do you know though, Pip is perfect for showing what’s wrong with self-ID, to MPs, newspapers, groups, any one you can.

But at least one MP thought Pips was the perfect person to include in a discussion about transgender girl guides.

StunninBravepen · 21/09/2018 00:45

How stunning and brave his pen is

BesmirchingMotherhood · 21/09/2018 01:02

But at least one MP thought Pips was the perfect person to include in a discussion about transgender girl guides.

But what if it had been on a Phil day?!?

(I’m being flippant because I can’t be anything else right now. Once again, I could fucking cry.)

ErrolTheDragon · 21/09/2018 01:16

Here's Pips bit from the awards list (no 32)
https://www.out-standing.org/heroes/2018-top-100-female-executives/

'Pips is a key proponent for many of Credit Suisse’s gender focused initiatives and regularly promotes the importance of intersectionality. This spans the LGBT & Ally Program, which she co-leads, the European Women’s Network and the IT Women’s Council where she is a ‘Champion of Women in IT’, designed to promote the changes needed to build the pipeline of female and non-binary talent in the workplace by being a visible ambassador. Externally, Pips regularly speaks at external high profile gender network events to promote the importance of gender equality & parity. She uses these as a platform to promote the good work being done and to articulate why such initiatives are so key, what good looks like and how firms can improve their support for a more diverse gender workforce where there is the parity, equal representation and equality across all 3 genders. Recent events include Women of the Square Mile Diversity Conference, the ‘Sit With Me’ campaign from the National Centre for Women & Information Technology coalition, and the Diversity In Technology conference – other examples include presenting to the Lords in the Houses of Parliament on topics such as non-binary/gender fluidity and changes sought to the Gender Recognition Act.'

All three genders?Confused well, I suppose that might help discourage the use of gender as a euphemism for sex.

ChattyLion · 21/09/2018 01:33

From that article Elephant linked to upthread:

Phil or Pippa or Pips is quoted as saying:

‘To me it’s synonymous to how a lady may choose to wear a dress, heels and makeup one day yet trousers, flats and no makeup another — these are just internal preferences of how we choose to express at any given time.’

Why- yes I see exactly how this is synonymous. I am a lady Hmm, I myself wore trousers, flats and no makeup to work only this very day.. and I have been ‘expressing’ via these ‘preferences’ for at least the last few decades!

Perhaps tomorrow because I have worn these things, i’ll get my awards intended for men, be invited to do speaking engagements and magazine interviews entirely. No doubt i’ll have unconditional management backing when use the men’s loos and leave the seat down every time.

I think my work might also owe me about 30% back pay too given all those years i have been living as a man...

Iused2BanOptimist · 21/09/2018 02:47

Imagine Pip and his wife going out to dinner on a Pip day. I wonder which one gets to taste the wine and pay the bill? My DDs get to deal with some tricky customers at their pub job but I think this would really test them.
Seriously though, can we expect more of this in the workplace? Working in the NHS I'd have great difficulty tolerating a senior doctor for example inflicting this on their patients. What on earth would the poor old people make of it and how are they to remember which pronouns to use?

Iused2BanOptimist · 21/09/2018 02:49

I'd love to read an interview with some of the women at his workplace, not that they could speak candidly.

numberseven · 21/09/2018 03:37

Don't forget about him advising the Girl Guides!

It's interesting how many of these crossdressy fellows have something to do with Girl Guides. Hmm

AltheaorDonna · 21/09/2018 04:10

Fucking hell, this stuff makes me so bloody angry.

ShackUp · 21/09/2018 04:42

Pips has really reduced women to a set of bollocks stereotypes in that article. 'More heels than my wife and daughter' just about sums it up for me. What do men actually think preoccupies us on a day to day basis? It's a wonder women can do ANY work when their pretty little heads are filled with flashing images of sartorial choices all day long...

CrackpotsArePots · 21/09/2018 04:44

I think we should definitely see more of Pips in the tabloids. I think more people should savour the Stunning and Brave he represents.

CrackpotsArePots · 21/09/2018 04:46

Handsoff

Oh, so are all the deleted but your offensive questions asking them to define what a woman is before deciding who the ones their Campaign is about are?

Now where have I heard that before?

CrackpotsArePots · 21/09/2018 04:49

Handsoff

Will try again:

Are all the deleted messages on that thread offensive questions, asking the organisers to define what a 'women' is before they start publicising their wonderfulness in advocating for women?

Now where have I seen that before?

partystress · 21/09/2018 06:50

Crass v class.

Indeed

Pips is free to wear a dress if he wants. Good on him (although that pink is a bit draining). I like a man in eyeliner. I love a kilt.

But don't fool us that you are empowering anyone but yourself Phil
