Any Irish feeling a bit isolated...

...for being critical of the gender critical?

The referendum was such a high but the repeal groups I was part of have gone on to become equality groups (I have no issue with equality but the issues they are fighting for seem in almost every case to be to the detriment of women)
It’s gone from such a high to such a low as it’s overwhelming how quickly people will dismiss you as transphobic for airing a genuine concern.

Wondered is there anyone in a similar situation or if you can point me in the direction of likeminded groups?

This is exactly my issue with the situation.Irish libfems and TRA's have no right to give my consent away. Our need for and right to private spaces were hard won and it seems far from feminist that they are trying to dismantle them, for what, ''equality''? That's like a sick joke!

Hello to everyone. I'm in the West and firmly GC. I didn't realise there were others (grin)

Update to the case in Mayo there was a hearing yesterday but the arresting and on charge Gardai weren't available so it was adjourned until they could be present on Dec 5th

Update to the Mayo case, the Judge changed the name on the summons and the charges will stand (wonder if they'll appeal the decision to a higher court).

The accused signed their former male name twice when they were arrested and didn't correct anyone who used their male name.

That’s brilliant miri1985. Being able to get off charges, because someone can say they’re not a man, would have set a terrifying precedent.

Apparently Primetime are discussing trans issues next Tuesday and Glinner is going to be on it. Lots of predictable outrage on twitter
sneaky dogfriend (@GrrlGhost) Tweeted:
Tw: transphobia

RTE are investigating trans law next week on Primetime, and who have they asked on to discuss the matter? fucking Grham fucking Lnehan. twitter.com/GrrlGhost/status/1086229303493386240?s=17

I’ve seen a couple of tweets organising mass emails to RTE to protest Linehan’s inclusion.

Beardy blokes obvious.

MadamBatty · 18/01/2019 18:56

Hurrah the voice of reason. I can see Glinner peaking Ireland

Flywheel · 18/01/2019 19:14

Saw the ad today and will be watching. It will be interesting to see how fairly the issue is discussed and the programme is edited.

ludog · 18/01/2019 20:35

I've noticed a lot more people talking about this in the past few months and they generally go from " ah sure, God help them what harm are they doing?" to "WTAF?!" when they realise we're not talking about harmless Hayley Cropper lookalikes. It will be interesting to hear the reaction to Glinner on Tuesday.

PennyMordauntsLadyBrain · 18/01/2019 21:42

I genuinely think they’re so fearful as they know Glinner will lay it out in plain English what the problems with this agenda are, how it affects women, and the potential ramifications.

He’s not going to talk in pseudo-science lingo or gaslight anyone with false facts.

And they know that the vast vast majority of the Irish public will think “what in the actual fuck?” Rather than “wow, the man who brought us Father Ted is a bigot towards the stunning and brave!”

Must set my telly box for Tues. Were any posters here in touch with the producers?
