Hoping to be at Filia but it depends on family responsibilities (lots of people waiting on surgery etc. at present).

I'm staying at the travelodge in Trafford Park - was going to be the Milton but the price had gone up £150 when I went to book vs when I last checked it!!

silentcrow · 29/09/2018 09:39

Spartacus, it was lovely to meet you Smile

Looks like we'll have quite the contingent, then! Would be good to organise coffee or something nearer the time.

Barracker · 29/09/2018 09:49

I don't know which ones of you I met!
I can't believe R0wan and TerfedOff and SpartacusAutisticus were there and I didn't know!

Gah.

We need like a birdcall or summat.

TerfedOff · 29/09/2018 09:54

We need a mumsnet feminist t shirt.

What I really loved about last night was seeing the various different groups in their campaigning t shirts.

So many amazing inventive women.

Sisters doing it for themselves.

TerfedOff · 29/09/2018 09:55

I was at the back with the Man Friday lot.

Back row with cans of G&T.

Very civilised.

BeyondAdultHumanFemale · 29/09/2018 09:55

FWR FTW tshirts? Grin

WomenMakePurchasingDecisions · 29/09/2018 10:10

Yes!

Ereshkigal · 29/09/2018 10:16

Am I correct in saying that in the closing minutes of the meeting, somebody reported that Jess Bradley of NUS notoriety was at the Labour conference last week?

Venice said it when she spoke.

Ereshkigal · 29/09/2018 10:18

I watched the whole thing last thing last night on YouTube, finished about 2.30. Please do another one soon! Stellar line up.

arranfan · 29/09/2018 13:54

We need a mumsnet feminist t shirt.

Look - our online "hate group" curriculum covers portals - radicalisation, inter-continental, etc. Most of us have failed 101 Organisation and I'm not sure that screen-printing and design is anywhere near being offered.

However, yes. A suffragette-coloured nest of vipers/snakes would be helpful.

But also, Disrespectful Woman :)

silentcrow · 29/09/2018 14:31

TerfedOff on the left-hand side (facing the stage), with the little baby? I was right on the back row on that side.

Was it Liverpool Resisters that had the flaming female symbol with Liver bird t-shirts? They were fabulous.

Cuntysnark · 29/09/2018 14:40

Barracker I agree, so many of my sheroes and I didn’t get to meet them. I was at the front with the fabulous Jacky Holyoake. I offered to steal (who I’m guessing was) terfedoff’s baby by popping said baby into my ‘Woman’ bag. This was not allowed.

Jeanhatchet · 29/09/2018 14:52

Thanks to everyone for watching or coming and for supporting. It was amazing to be in that room last night. The energy was tangible.

miketv · 29/09/2018 14:56

You were all great Jean - it was great to hear you all speak so well in person.

Hyppolyta · 29/09/2018 15:01

You were fantatstic Jean!
I was sat just in front of the whingers and god did they whinge and the way you called them out as terrorists was fabulous.

BesmirchingMotherhood · 29/09/2018 15:04

There were whingers there?

I watched it all live on YouTube to do the best I could at pretending to be there. Amazing. Just amazing.

NewWomensMovement · 29/09/2018 15:08

It was a great evening watching it live online.

So important.

Barracker · 29/09/2018 15:09

You were incredible, Jean.

Hyppolyta · 29/09/2018 15:10

They were in the back row. They werent too bad during the speeches, but lots of muttering during the Q&A.

A piece of fabric was passed round for women to write positive messages on, and they were just utterly baffled by it, bless them. How depressing to be unable to write one positive message about your own sex.

Privileged to shake your hand, Jean, and have a photo with you! (I mentioned I had followed your work since the Chef Evans petition). I'm looking forward to hearing you speak again soon.

BingBongSong · 29/09/2018 15:39

Chef? Ched Hmm.

I thought the Irish woman who pointed out that her sister, who lived in Ireland and didn't even know self-id had been passed, answered the question very well. And the point made that Ireland gave men the right to access women's spaces before they gave women the right to an abortion. Beautifully put.
