I was there too!

HavelockVetinari · 29/09/2018 19:26

I was the one who came with lots of capes/handmaid caps.

It was ace!

miketv · 29/09/2018 19:28

@drradfem - you were on fire!

vaginafetishist · 29/09/2018 19:33

It sounds amazing. Wish I coukd have been there

chuntersalot · 29/09/2018 19:45

It was a great evening. If you went outside the pub for a cigarette at any point you probably met me Grin Spent more time out there than in the pub.

I was sat in front of the whinging ones too with Hyppolyta - thanks for lift from the venue to the pub. Also walked back to the tram stop in Piccadilly Gardens who someone I think is a mumsnetter Smile

I cried a bit during some of the speeches too. Very moving. I came away feeling powerful.

Sorry I didn’t make the action in Manchester this morning - fucking Northern Rail.

UrsulaPandress · 29/09/2018 19:47

So who were the whingers?

drradfem · 29/09/2018 19:49

It was such a lovely evening, was so nice to meet up with people I know online and irl. Well done Posie! HaloThanks

WanderinWomb · 29/09/2018 19:55

Can I ask what venue hosted the talk and which pub you went to?
Don't say if you think they need protection but I'm local to Manc and love to give my business and recommendations to a venue that didn't cancel you (looking at you Leeds council)

UrsulaPandress · 29/09/2018 19:57

I wouldn't pass my ticket on to someone as I worried about the naysayers.

arranfan · 29/09/2018 19:59

I was sat just in front of the whingers and god did they whinge and the way you called them out as terrorists was fabulous.

Remember that nonsensical story about someone allegedly spitting on the back of a peaceful protestor's head at Brighton? I'm startled that some video from the Handmaid's Tale hasn't been released as documentary evidence of what Disrespectful Women did to the whingers. You know, the particicution scene. Hmm

chuntersalot · 29/09/2018 20:00

I don’t know who they were. One of them asked the ‘What about Ireland question’ but stopped short of the usual ‘and there’s been no problems’.

Can confirm what was said above - they were quiet and respectful during the speakers (although one was taking notes Hmm ) but got a bit animated amongst themselves, so still not disturbing anything, during the Q&A and very flummoxed by the white cloth Grin

I think they are Manchester Socialist Network or something.

The last Manchester meeting I went to for WPUK the same people were there.

The long haired one with painted nails is a non binary male who uses the pronouns they I understand (from what they (meaning just that person) said when they asked a question last time).

UrsulaPandress · 29/09/2018 20:13

I've lost the plot so much. Is a non binary male a woman or a man? In the traditional sense.

miketv · 29/09/2018 20:16

I was fair oblivious to the people protesting except for the questioner. Were the questions on the live stream?

TerfedOff · 29/09/2018 20:20

It's a bloke. With long hair and nail varnish.

Used to be called a goth.

RiverTam · 29/09/2018 20:22

Just watched your speech, Venice, bloody marvellous!

chuntersalot · 29/09/2018 21:00

SpartacusAutisticusAHF Every time I got close to going back in others would come out and great new conversations and yes, a fair amount of fan girling, would start Grin I hope we did meet.

BitOfFun · 29/09/2018 22:09

Ah, we definitely spoke outside, chunters Grin

SandyDrawsBadly · 29/09/2018 22:14

Best night I’ve had in ages.
Brilliant to meet people, but there’s loads of people I know on here and on twatter that I didn’t know were there and wish I’d mingled more.

ToeToToe · 29/09/2018 22:20

Sandy - loved your live-cartooning Grin

Would you consider doing a new suffragettes cartoon with Venice, Posie, Linda et al as modern suffragettes? It would be wonderful Thanks
