The term "men in dresses"

AuntMsVanillaRose · 12/09/2018 08:22

Trans-excluders like to say that they're absolutely fine with boys who don't fit in with gender stereotypes. And I, not one of you, am fine with children not fitting gender stereotypes. But I don't think that is true of all of you. Why is "man in a dress" used as an insult by so many of you?

How about the lives of the women trapped in prison with Karen White, and in particular the four Karen White sexually assaulted? Trans ideology has made their lives significantly harder, wouldn't you agree?

They are only women so their safety and security comes second to men's feelz.

DereksSexyPyjamas · 12/09/2018 17:44

Seems to have been a LOT of these threads popped up recently, maybe fish should start being lobbed instead?

The patterns are absolutely fascinating when you start to notice them. After something awful happens, like Karen White for instance, there's radio silence. Then after a couple of days pass, the goady comments start to creep back in. Every time. I'd wonder why we don't get more TRAs on threads about the Green Party or David Challenor but I know the answer: it's pure cringing cowardice.

YY.

Person on the AIBU thread: why are girls at risk from people with penises, they're round penises all the time, blah blah.

This is like that utterly ridiculous 'gotcha' about all sexes of persons use my loo at home, so what's the difference between that and blokes using the ladies? Unless you allow complete strangers to use your facilities all day and night, then there is no gotcha. If that person doesn't move in circles where men constantly have their cocks out then their statement makes even less sense. And if they do, it's unsurprising that they fail to comprehend basic safeguarding.

OvaHere · 12/09/2018 18:53

That's always struck me as a ridiculous argument. Friends of both sexes of course use my loo when they visit but I wouldn't go in there with them or send any of my children in there at the same time either.

I'm not sure what planet some people live on.

JiltedJohnsJulie · 12/09/2018 19:10

*WAIT...THEY DELATED AVOCADO ON TOAST RECIPES

Good god what is the world coming to

Cereals...fair enough. Avocado toast? No*

This made me snort.

My first foray into Faminism chat too and I get deleted and for a bloody toast recipe.

Knicknackpaddyflak · 12/09/2018 19:24

The same person has compared being trans to being disabled, and suggested that safeguarding is an ever moving policy target so not to get hung up about it, so I'd mention what else you can do with avocado if it wouldn't cause tantrums about being insufficiently nice

PositivelyPERF · 12/09/2018 19:28

My first foray into Faminism chat I was famished reading those recipes. 😉😁

Oh thats bad!!

DereksSexyPyjamas · 12/09/2018 20:05

The word ‘avocado’ comes from the Aztec word for ‘testicle’. Coincidence? I think not. 🥑🥖🥑

AngryAttackKittens · 12/09/2018 23:24

So, to be clear, what is MNHQ telling us that we're required to do with threads where most posters think the OP is being a GF? Are we now required to engage seriously? Because if so I think we're entitled to a salary.

If the idea is that we not engage at all, that's totally unworkable on a forum, especially given that saying "I think this person is trolling" is a deletable offense.

Melanippe · 13/09/2018 00:12

Maybe we'r expected to have an informant chain, like they do for schools when there's a trip... so everyone messages three people on a list to pass the word on, but who can be arsed with that?

AngryAttackKittens · 13/09/2018 00:19

Thank you for justifying my loathing of avocados, Jilted. Giant mushy green balls!

sashh · 13/09/2018 06:03

Seems to have been a LOT of these threads popped up recently, maybe fish should start being lobbed instead?

But not kippers, that could be interpreted as a breakfast recipe.

Are we allowed to discuss breakfast in a dress? Or troll on toast?

OK recipe for poncy man in a dress.

The following code will be used

Egg white - dress
Egg yolk - man
Salmon trimmings - snowflake
whisk - safe space
salt and pepper - the death star
cheese - osama bin laden
frying pan - hedgehog
bowl - fox

Crack the man and dress into a fox
remove the man and keep safe
Add your choice of poncy bits and pieces to the dress, I like to use snowflake but grated osama bin laden works well too. Season with the death star and lightly safe place.

Heat some oil in a hedgehog, add the dress and make a small opening for the man. Put the man in the dress and fry until cooked.

Serve with toast.

Angryresister · 13/09/2018 06:14

So why is everyone being deleted this time? Are we no longer able to describe what we see in front of us? As far as I can see it is a description that covers males who like dressing up in stereotypical clothes that some women also wear, who try to present themselves as the opposite sex by also wearing heavy make up, high heels and wigs. Seems a fair description to me,

sashh · 13/09/2018 06:25

Angry

People were saying what they were having for breakfast. Avocado became a bit of a theme.

Iused2BanOptimist · 13/09/2018 06:33

I don't trust myself to spot all the gf threads as quickly as old timers and appreciate a hint plus I can't deny I enjoy the recipes and a bit of fun. But if that isn't allowed AAK then perhaps an upfront "code" is needed like "this could be interesting but I'm too busy at work to engage today". With everyone posting pretty much the same so we all know, the op gets the message and I don't see how it can break rules. I look forward to inventive busynesses.

Angryresister · 13/09/2018 07:38

Yes I know...have several avocado trees where I live too. Will try not to engage next time!

SittingAround1 · 13/09/2018 09:46

The problem with avocados is the very small time frame within which they are edible. Too early and they're hard as rocks , too late they're a squishy mess with black bits everywhere.

Anyway, perhaps we'd be allowed to talk about the weather? That's always been a socially acceptable subject for women to use when conversation gets a bit tricky.

As for spotting dodgy posts, a general rule is the English tends verge on the incomprehensible, they'll make some wild statement about what feminists have said against all trans and how unfair we are. They will not then engage with clearly thought out arguments but just carry on (if they reply at all) with their accusations.

I find this thread hilarious because the OP and supporting PP haven't realised feminists wouldn't use 'men in dresses' as an insult as it is inherently sexist.

Knicknackpaddyflak · 13/09/2018 16:52

Iused thank you. My new 'oh ffs, no I'm not your bloody mother/ entertainment centre/ twitter ratfuckgenerator' line will be 'oh gosh how extremely jolly interesting that is but just too busy for this thread today'.

Who's going to run the book on how long it takes for the word 'busy' to become a recognised boundary causing rattles to be hurled, feet to be stomped and MNHQ to be inundated with demands to ban it as hate speech?

I am serious.

Ereshkigal · 13/09/2018 17:12

Let's see!

VickyEadie · 13/09/2018 17:21

I might deploy a simple 'Too busy'.

AspieAndProud · 13/09/2018 17:31

The word ‘avocado’ comes from the Aztec word for ‘testicle’

Green and lopsided? I'd get that seen to.

Bowlofbabelfish · 13/09/2018 17:47

Why is "man in a dress" used as an insult by so many of you?

Is it? It’s not a phrase I see bandied around much tbh.

However here’s a technique we have all seen multiple times - starting a post with an intro that contains a ‘fact’ that’s not actually true but controversial enough that people feel compelled to refute it. The OP in such a case (speaking generically of course, OP, not meaning you personally) can then sit back and screenshot at will. The technique also means that people are poked into refutingcthe allegation rather than asking themselves ‘is the allegation true?’

We see it a lot on here, which is why you’re getting recipes. Statement, statement, outrageous statement. Responses elftvright and centre, wasted energy, and argument.

So my reply to you personally, OP, is ‘actually we don’t called transwomen men in dresses.’

Next question?
