Cross over from the Green Party terf blocker stuff.

Harrop and his merry band of TRAs are trying to convince Caroline Lucas that it's all the fault of evil terfs really.

So there's Harrop, known harrasser of gender critical women, Terf Blocker, known for lass blocking and reporting of GC women, and LisaQuestions who identified David Challenor's victim

What’s the significance of hands across the aisle?

Following the takedown of the Liverpool poster I noticed a tweet from him about being “hands across the aisle” with Stephanie Hayden Confused

Still there...

Hands Across the Aisle is some sort of network of people (women only? not sure) in the US who oppose trans ideology. The name reflects the fact that they are a very diverse group, including right-wing evangelical pro-life types and gender critical radical feminists. The TRAs are trying to say that HATA is funding GC people over here. Emily Zinos, the driving force behind HATA, posted a vigorous rebuttal of this the other day, stating that HATA has no funds from any source.

MagicMix · 03/10/2018 18:38

I think he's saying that he and Stephanie disagree on Brexit but are united by their belief that women should shut the fuck up.

Two options:

  1. a reference to the Graham Lineham lawsuit
  2. an attempt to intimidate everyone into believing they have a large, diverse group of supporters.

Excuse any typos in shacked. Night peeps xx

heresyandwitchcraft · 03/10/2018 18:52

As already mentioned, Hands Across the Aisle reflects the fact that people from ALL walks of life and political ideology can agree that men cannot become women, or vice versa, just because they say so and that biological reality still matters.
Our erstwhile opponents hate it because the group does include religious right women. That is part of it's strength, that we may disagree on MANY things, but we can come together on this very important question.
Also the trans activists forget that Tara Hewitt (prominent trans activist trans woman who works with the NHS AND is a member of TELI, the transgender equality legal initiative as a health advisor) is Catholic and on the record as speaking out against lesbians using sperm banks, IVF and abortion.

Above "2-year-olds" should read "12-year-olds".

BurntMarshmallow · 03/10/2018 19:25

Hayden has been in contact with Helen Green, Jane Fae and Harrop via DM, they are all in it together to shut us up

homoseXXualmum · 03/10/2018 19:35

In other words, they are grooming small children to be homosexual.

Adrian might be a * * *d, but to claim he's been groomed or made gay is ridiculous. Reading something will not turn someone who isn't same-sex attracted gay. It might at most create a short phase; homosexual people are 24/7 bombarded with straight material and it doesn't turn them straight.

Besides, for the last 5 years Stonewall has compeltely forgotten gay people exist and are pretty much promoting sexist conversion therapy.

FloralBunting · 03/10/2018 19:40

Grooming kids to be homosexual? I'm sorry, what?

No. No. No. No.

terryleather · 03/10/2018 19:43

I've reported that post Floral, the first time I've ever reported anything on here as I believe in free speech but that post is not right.

FloralBunting · 03/10/2018 20:00

Yep. Totally not on. I know people who I respect who have very 'traditional' views about sexuality, and I respect their right to hold any opinion they will, but sexuality is vastly, vastly different to gender identity, and the conflation of the two by pro LGBT and anti LGBT sides is one of the reasons there is so much confusion about the objections to the pushing of Transactivism.

MipMipMip · 03/10/2018 20:02

I didnt see the post but I wouldn't be surprised at some point to see how you can't groom kids to be gay (aka social contagion) so it's the same for trans - outside influences habe to effect.

For the record I agree you are born gay (and nothing wrong with that!) but I do definatly think that social pressure is responsible for a lot of people, particularly the young, coming out as trans.

MipMipMip · 03/10/2018 20:02

Have no effect*

terryleather · 03/10/2018 20:20

Floral That post was all kinds of weird and just got worse...the more I think about it the more I'm convinced it was posted for shits, giggles & screenshots to discredit FWR...just like every bloody day of the week around here.
At least they didn't mention nappies this time!

FloralBunting · 03/10/2018 20:34

You may be right. Given that Hands Across the Aisle have been mentioned on this thread, it's worth noting up front that not everyone involved with that coalition will be on the same page wrt LGB issues, because some may not have fully taken that on board. In a coalition of the religious, the right wing, the left wing, radical feminism et al, there are going to be some pretty huge disagreements. I'd rather face up to that than have someone throw it up as a gotcha moment.

So, to be clear, the Transactivism that seeks to medicalise children for their entire lives, some of whom may well be exhibiting homosexual orientation at the approach to puberty, because of erroneous notions that a girl attracted to girls who isn't a female stereotype must be a boy, is every bit as 'homophobic' as the conversion therapy I went through when I was younger because I was attracted to other women.

heresyandwitchcraft · 03/10/2018 21:03

For the record:
I think it is very good for schools to acknowledge differences and show acceptance, including sexuality and gender identity. We know that homophobia and transphobia are big problems (I believe trans people do face great difficulties, I just disagree that the dictionary definition of woman is now transphobic....).
My problem with identity-politics inspired education is when you start almost placing a hierarchy of importance/value on things that people cannot change (in other words, that kids think it is better to be a boy or a girl, gay or straight, etc). In my experience, this kind of thinking makes people feel odd about whether or not they have such characteristics, when they should actually be seen as neutral distinctions (like the physical reality of being born male/female). An even bigger problem for me with the trans debate is that children might be taught something that is actually not realistic, or downright impossible - that human biological sex doesn't really matter that much or that we can actually change sex. In the trans debate we are not being told concrete facts, and people are not open to discussing potential consequences. Young children cannot possibly understand all of this gender identity stuff, adults like me barely can (I've followed it a while and I still don't get how a man can know what being a woman feels like or what neutrois actually is). We know children pick up influences from their environment, as do adults, and the exponential rise in children identifying as trans is something that needs to be carefully examined in order to be understood properly. The most worrying part is that kids are not being allowed to assert their own boundaries for privacy and comfort, or sometimes even encouraged not to tell their parents what is going on.
I don't think there is a big plot to groom people to be gay or to be trans.
I think LGBTQ+ material is set up in good-faith by teachers who have asked for help from institutions they trust. It's actually a very good thing to talk about these sensitive topics in schools and teach children it's okay to be whoever they are.
My reason for being so interested in what is going on in schools regarding the very new phenomenon of transitioning children is that self-declared trans activist "experts" (some of whom we would like to ask reasonable questions about their background) are putting out some odd claims, ignoring basic safeguarding questions, not thinking about other children's feelings about mixing biological males and females in vulnerable spaces, and using very worrying tactics to silence rational discussion about this. It is the vehement opposition and intolerance to even the most gentle of acknowledgement of biological facts that sets the trans activists apart, and makes people wonder why there is such resistance to discussion.

The reason we focus on AH here is because of his behaviour, his seeming intolerance to an opposing view, and what looks like an obsession with targeting women and Mumsnet. It's not actually about what he believes regarding sex and gender identity that causes this thread to be here... It's the way he acts towards women who believe that sex matters.

QuackPorridgeBacon · 03/10/2018 21:30

He's currently retweeting stuff about women in prisons for things like not paying their TV licence and how they are disproportionately impacted by draconian punishments like this. How does he then not join up the dots about these non violent women potentially being locked up with male rapists?

Exactly. How can people not see this?

SPOFS · 03/10/2018 21:35

Isn't it odd that he lets both parody account stay up? He could have them fled if he requested to. It's almost as if he likes the bad publicity?

FloralBunting · 03/10/2018 21:46

I think the daft wotsit has an ego the size of Spain and parody accounts will be stroking that beautifully.

TerfedOff · 03/10/2018 22:13

With regard to the Grooming thing one of my children joined the LGBT group when they first started at secondary school as they were tempted by all the lovely activities on offer - free cakes and sweets and parties after school if I remember. I thought it was a nice inclusive thing for them to be doing although I did think it was a little young to be thinking about sexuality. They then went very sad and withdrawn and eventually admitted that they were having a same-sex relationship that they felt pressurised into having. I told them although of course I would support them in their sexuality (they thought they must be bisexual possibly) I thought they were too young at this point and should just be friends with the person. I believe independently they decided to call the relationship off and have since reverted to the happy skippy child with no interest in sexual relations with anybody. That was a couple of years ago and they have had conversations with me since then where they have expressed that they felt pressured into having that relationship and into doing things that they did not feel comfortable doing.
