Previous thread here:
www.mumsnet.com/Talk/womens_rights/3347925-Green-Party-statement-continuation-thread?pg=40

Will post links to AC's public statement and Caroline Lucas's appalling white wash job in a moment, but for me, Andrew Gilligan nails it yet again:

ROwantrees will do that's the thread I was looking for original but I couldn't find it.

R0wantrees · 04/09/2018 13:03

I think the bulk of the TELI discussion is on the third thread:

www.mumsnet.com/Talk/womens_rights/3325623-Jess-Bradley-a-government-advisor-on-womens-rights-suspended-by-NUS-over-indecent-blog-Part-iii

TELI's known co-founders are Tara Hewitt (NHS diversiity adviser), Jess Bradley (NUS, Action for TransHealth), Michelle Brewer (ref WEP)
www.teli.org.uk/annual-conference/

Also re TELI, worth considering who advised as well as gave evidence to the two Westminster enquiries.

Molly has put me in mind of this excellent Magdalen Burns video:

EverardDigby · 04/09/2018 13:09

That Daily Nous article is good, but I agree the response is poor. People have picked up on it not being trans exclusionary it being about excluding males, and the automatic TERF = transphobic accusation.

As for Molly, jeez. I used to hang out with the boys and think I was cooler than all the other girls too. And I HATE the use of "queer", I think it alienates many older lesbians and gay men who have an automatic aversion to it because of being much more likely to have heard it in genuinely threatening situations or actual (not literal) physical assault.

thecatfromjapan · 04/09/2018 13:23

Thanks Betty - I've never seen that.

R0wantrees · 04/09/2018 13:29

I met Clare Jones at WPUK Brighton. She’s a gender critical feminist.

CesiraAndEnrico · 04/09/2018 13:41

Can you imagine the Guardian, Huff Post et al if this scandal had been in UKIP?

Never mind UKIP. Just a young "rising star" conservative would have raised the roof media-wise.

There'd be pitchforks all over the shop and the Cons would have thrown their "rising star" under the bus so hard and fast that all that would be left of them would be a sprinkling of glitter on the tyres.

Look how Carolyn Jenner went from celebrated in all directions to trampled in the backtracking when the republican aspect got focused on.

there's lots of info on the Jess Bradley threads and links already established there

Are people in favour of that person being the centre piece of the next visual web ? Cos there is no room left on the current one. It already looks like spaghetti junction.

I think it may be appropriate given JB's current suspension by NUS. Also practically as JB is the focus of the threads etc

BettyDuMonde · 04/09/2018 13:48

I suspect Bradley actively cultivated connections so would probably make for a good centre point.

R0wantrees · 04/09/2018 13:51

I also think that Bradley was actively cultivated by others who would have very little in common otherwise.
The links to students / far-left groups would have been seen, perhaps by some, as very important.

Ereshkigal · 04/09/2018 13:53

So, fluffy little Molly with her floaty skirt, flicky hair and sparkly headband doesn't see herself as a woman. Okaaaay...

I'm sorry, like 99% of the population I can't take any of this mind-meltingly stupid nonsense seriously.

SirVixofVixHall · 04/09/2018 14:35

That video of Molly won’t open for me.

EverardDigby · 04/09/2018 14:44

SirVix count yourself lucky!

RedToothBrush · 04/09/2018 14:45

Can't wait til Molly has a baby.

BobHolness · 04/09/2018 14:48

Aimee and the LGBTIQA+/£$ lot just lost a load of allies on the Executive. Hopefully their power will wane as a result.

RedToothBrush · 04/09/2018 14:57

Redgeorgie @RedGeorgieOne
The Green Party has an estimated membership of 39,400. Only 8,379 actually voted in their leadership contest. That's a 21% turnout. That's not great.
Looking at past leadership elections the turnout was also pretty low. Not sure why.

RedToothBrush · 04/09/2018 15:00

Tom Flynn @DrTomFlynn
Worth point out that a few Students' Union elections have a bigger turnout than this...

BBC News - Jonathan Bartley and Sian Berry elected Green Party co-leaders

Lysistrataknowsherstuff · 04/09/2018 15:09

Not a word in the BBC report on the chaos in the GP. I was also surprised to learn that Amelia Womack is working to eradicate misogyny Confused

RedToothBrush · 04/09/2018 15:14

Simon Gilbert @TheSimonGilbert
Listen to @BBCCovWarks’ exclusive interview with @AimeeChallenor at 5pm.
^She’s quit @TheGreenParty alleging there’s transphobia in the party.
The deputy leadership candidate was suspended pending an investigation because she used her father as election agent after his arrest^

This seems like a great idea.

LangCleg · 04/09/2018 15:29

Listen to @BBCCovWarks’ exclusive interview with @AimeeChallenor at 5pm.

Um...

... I'm honestly lost for words at this point.

arranfan · 04/09/2018 15:31

I'd imagine the media training from Young Stonewall is going to be deployed to good use.

I'm a little baffled that BBC didn't find this an interesting story last week but now it is, even at this local level...

BettyDuMonde · 04/09/2018 15:31

5pm today?

Presumably a live broadcast?

Anyone else feel like they are witnessing a car crashing in slow motion, but are powerless to stop it?

LangCleg · 04/09/2018 15:34

Lovely Aimee has been abused by evil witch Caroline story to follow at five.

LadybirdsAreBirds · 04/09/2018 15:36

Look how Caitlin Jenner went from celebrated in all directions to trampled in the backtracking when the republican aspect got focused on

Excellent point. I won't ever read the Guardian again. Nor am I much inclined to trust the BBC
