Previous thread here:
www.mumsnet.com/Talk/womens_rights/3347925-Green-Party-statement-continuation-thread?pg=40

Will post links to AC's public statement and Caroline Lucas's appalling white wash job in a moment, but for me, Andrew Gilligan nails it yet again:

Thanks, Carceral.

How do you get to the point where you see no conflict between - ideologically driven - illegal acts* and a public role in a political Party?

How come not one of them in that group thought that was not OK?

How far have we come that social discourse has degenerated to the point where it has facilitated that? (That is - a culture enabled by the likes of Owen Jones where it is legitimately OK to act in such shocking ways, and see yourself as a fine representative of a political Party, so long as it's against 'TERFs'?)

And I'm sure Molly still sees herself as a decent person.

That's not decent.

It should be the sort of behaviour that gets you suspended.

Not in a position to suspend others.
*
What The did might well not be illegal. They may not even have done it. But they thought it might be and were prepared to go ahead anyway and hide evidence of their action in case it was illegal.

Independent Investigators Verita have a twitter account.

The person at the end of the account is going to get a surprise when they check their 'mentions' on Monday morning. Shock. It looks like they are being copied into and alerted to exchanges and threads involving the GP.

Get your tin hats on, Verita, and fasten your seatbelts.

Stonewall should just rebrand as a trans organisation and let us get on with LGB work. Now we have +/- legal rights in UK their original purpose is over. They could have switched to international lobbying - like, where people are imprisoned or killed for being gay - but they have opted to go with trans cos thats where the money is. It is rumoured that Ruth Hunt is on 95k, if that were my job I'd be working to keep it.

The work that isn't being done here is anti-sexist education in schools, starting in nurseries. Like the work we got started on in the 70s and 80s. That all children can do anything, that we can all love who we want - but most importantly that sex role stereotypes are fake. Instead Stonewall is going into schools shilling for trans.

Many many Lesbian and gay people are wanting to go back to being allied as LGB, and to allow the T to campaign for their identity rights, which are different from sexuality.

pamish · 03/09/2018 03:19

What rights don't trans people have in the UK?

Haxxor that is a really serious and defamatory accusation. Suggest you report your own post.

NotMeOhNo · 03/09/2018 06:17

Prisons:
An end to the mistreatment and abuse of trans people in the Criminal Justice System (CJS). Trans people must be housed in the correct prison and supported to live according to their self-identified gender. There should be robust training for the prison services and National Offender Management Service (NOMS).
....
NOMS need to ensure that prisoners are consistently and correctly placed in prisons according to their self-identified gender, with any exceptions fully justified according to the new policy and guidance

I wonder what Stonewall would say if the clause "except where a transwoman has murdered, raped or assaulted a woman" was added here. It would be pretty hard to argue against it, would it not?

Batteriesallgone · 03/09/2018 07:57

Sorry but I don’t see a need to be so explicit about the abuse. It feels disrespectful towards the victim. I found it very upsetting reading your posts Haxxor and pamish.

Maryzsnewaccount · 03/09/2018 08:01

carceralfeminist Your post of Mon 03-Sep-18 01:20:22 deserves a thread of its own. Is that Stonewall's demands for the future? Because their comments, especially around prisons, sports and children are extraordinary.

Maryzsnewaccount · 03/09/2018 08:16

Actually, carceral, would you c&p that entire post to the Stonewall thread? It's important to note exactly what it is they want; it's not just "trans rights" it's the complete removal of women's spaces and a rewriting of the equality act.

theOtherPamAyres · 03/09/2018 08:18

Graphic description of a case of child rape and links to a witness for the defence.

theOtherPamAyres · 03/09/2018 08:23

I am not happy with the way two posters are introducing graphic details about a rape. It's gratitous, unecessary and disrespectful. I have reported the posts.

I hope no-one confuses me with Pamish. Thank you.

LangCleg · 03/09/2018 09:12

We're not talking about transsexuals

Correct. All this has absolutely nothing to do with transsexuals.

2BorNot2Bvocal · 03/09/2018 11:18

Anyone want an opportunity to get their hands on safeguard GP membership data? Got to admire the timing.

CesiraAndEnrico · 03/09/2018 12:31

I'm close to finishing the first cluster. Can't find the link to the spreadsheet with all the screenshots/evidence. Want to bung it on as a QR code.

Anybody got the link to hand ? Know it was on here somewhere.

Can't answer PMs, a little white empty box pops up when I try to send.

Have airport run today (baby coming home !) crappy free wifi permitting will keep updating the web while I sit around waiting for a no doubt delayed plane.

I knew I should have saved that sodding link when it was under my nose.

WomblingWoman · 03/09/2018 12:44

And there's more....

Seems like AC's and pals have been doing quite a bit of tinkering with the GP constitution.

Wow Shock

carceralfeminist · 03/09/2018 12:51

(Cross-posted Stonewall stuff to other thread, and will keep discussions about them over there!)

WomblingWoman
That is outrageous!

arranfan · 03/09/2018 13:20

Can anybody who is a Green Party member let us know what happened to those proposals, please? Literally, as a point of information, if you know.

GreenPartyResignation · 03/09/2018 13:25

Name changed so as not to link previous posts. I've had a response to my message to the GP about my resignation saying:

"Thank you for your email and for raising these issues with us.

A reply with a detailed response to all your points will be sent shortly. In the meantime, we have resigned your membership as requested and no further membership payments will be taken from your account.

Thank you for all of your previous support of the Green party."

Not sure whether this is a standard reply, and whether I'm going to get a standard response. Anyone else had anything?

My first reaction was that I don't want a response if it's going to be transwomen are women, I identified in my message to them that I was a survivor of child and adult abuse / sexual violence, and although I didn't say this to them I am finding that I am being triggered by being told I can't refuse consent to men in my personal space, so more of the same won't be helpful. But I am also curious as to what their response will be, so I guess I'll hold off on replying and see what I get.

Anyway it has made me feel better that my message has been read and acknowledged instead of ignored.
