Thank you Ladybirds.

Posters are probably right that A would have interviewed , as the offences took place at A's home. I hadn't thought of that. The offence my father was found guilty of took place outside the house. ( No one ever found out what went on inside the house).

I feel like I've picked off what I thought was a small scab, and found a still open wound that runs to my core. Maybe I should save my compassion for myself.
Unbelievably enough, my father was also a cross dresser, as they were called back then. You couldn't make this shit up, could you.

Anyways, will the other threads be allowed back now?
And what was the unsuccessful Orwellian attempt to re- write the internet concerning this family all about?
Was it an injunction , now lifted because it clearly failed?

Might I re-recommend You Tube, idge of reason , about wider responsibility, got deleted yesterday, when names weren't allowed.

Popchyk · 25/08/2018 18:30

They are getting a kicking on Twitter.

Which is deserved.

twitter.com/TheGreenParty/status/1033387641226649603

So we're allowed to talk about this on Mumsnet now?

Now that the Green Party has confirmed the link between DC and AC?

AngryAttackKittens · 25/08/2018 18:30

There are strong links between animal abuse and the abuse of humans, with people who abuse animals often going on to abuse people later. It's such a massive, obvious red flag that if someone involved in your organization is convicted of animal abuse (and you don't get rid of them then, which imo you should) then you should be keeping a very close eye on them, given how common the progression/escalation to violence against people is.

Why did this not happen? Why would any political party want a convicted abuser of animals working for them? Especially if they have ties to groups that work against animal abuse the way the Greens do.

LadybirdsAreBirds · 25/08/2018 18:31

Barracker

I know. It’s extraordinary that we have to self censor like this.

It’s bloody extraordinary. If this thread goes, I just don’t know what the point is.

LadybirdsAreBirds · 25/08/2018 18:35

Oh perma. Yes. That’s the one I meant.

My God, you can allow yourself to struggle with this.

I read a book that on the face of it sounds a bit schlocky but it really made me think about victim-perpetrators and responsibility. Called Mindhunters, by the guy who set up the FBIs behavioural science unit in Quantico. Several mentions are made of sexual abuse and cross dressing.

Imnobody4 · 25/08/2018 18:36

Whatever the effects on A.C. of being brought up in such a perverted family, and I do have compassion, it has obviously left them with an absence of moral compass. Taking on a high profile and infuencial political role has responsibilities as well as freedom to exercise power. The fact that the Green Party were not informed before sentencing, if true, makes AC unfit to hold any public or political office. Only a few weeks ago they were berating the police on lack of action over hate crimes against transpeople. What a travesty of perspective. Rape and torture of a child-nothing much to write home about. Misgendering - the worst thing ever. I am stunned at this statement from a party I once respected.

placemats · 25/08/2018 18:37

The Green Party was not aware of any of these allegations until the case concluded and Mr Challenor had been sentenced.

If this is the case then serious questions aught to be asked regarding the internal election process and the process for screening regarding those who stand for local elections.

We take our safeguarding responsibilities extremely seriously and as standard practice we will review them with immediate effect.

Okay. But I feel the need to mention stables, doors, horses and bolting.

Our thoughts are with all those who have been affected as a result of these offences

This was an horrific sexual abuse crime against a 10 year old, by a man in his mid 40s.

To remind the Green Party.

The Green Party has a representative in the Houses of Parliament.

LadybirdsAreBirds · 25/08/2018 18:39

That twitter thread is robust. Thank you for linking. And for all the women on that thread who are saying what they mean.

ToeToToe · 25/08/2018 18:40

Hear hear Barracker. I feel exactly the same.

IncrediblySturdyPyjamas · 25/08/2018 18:40

I am pretty sure that the 10 year old wasn't a victim of Gender Based violence.

Gender based?

Seriously. When will people wake the fuck up?

AngryAttackKittens · 25/08/2018 18:43

The "everyone affected" it makes it sounds like they're more concerned about the potential distress this causes to party members than the distress caused to the child victim herself.

LadybirdsAreBirds · 25/08/2018 18:43

It feels to me like they are trying to put child rape and torture in the same universe as alleged oft-mentioned, never - substantiated attacks on trans people. Am I going mad?

ItsAllGoingToBeFine · 25/08/2018 18:45

I just watched this and it makes some very good points about Challenor, Bradley, and Madigan.

littlbrowndog · 25/08/2018 18:57

Dc was a volunteer with children’s gymnastics

thecatfromjapan · 25/08/2018 18:58

Someone on the Twitter feed has raised the safeguarding and schools issue.

Most schools require you to show a DBS certificate to enter school premises.

These cover both yourself and those with whom you share an address.

I think they ask about investigations as well as convictions.

Is that true?

Because, if so, something has gone a bit pear-shaped here, with regard to school-based talks given by the Green Party spokesperson on LGBTQ+ issues whilst sharing an address with someone under investigation for child torture and rape.

I do agree, utterly, that choosing the rapist/torturer as a Campaign Manager whilst he was under investigation for such a serious crime and (presumably - but who know?) not informing Green Party HQ of that investigation shows a MASSIVE lack of judgment.

I really wouldn't trust a Party that a.) continues to support a candidate who has shown such a lack of judgment b.) attempts to sweep it under the carpet.

I don't think that is punishing the child.

I really do understand how having an abusive parent can lead to such errors of judgment.

But that is precisely why I would expect that candidate/representative to step back and be supported in stepping back.

Reality has crashed in now and Aimee needs to take time to get those boundaries and judgments sorted out.

Aimee has demonstrated she is NOT equipped to make serious judgments about safeguarding, for a start. That IS what this demonstrates.

And I say that with a great deal of pity.

Viago · 25/08/2018 19:00

Hear hear, Barracker.

TwistedStitch · 25/08/2018 19:01

I lurk on twitter now- deleted my account because being put on some list and getting abuse flaired my anxiety up too much. I just want to say a big thank you to the great women (and increasing number of men) both on twitter and here for continuing to fight and not let stuff like this be buried- I truly believe we're it not for the tenacious refusal to let this lie, and tweeting of people like Caroline Lucas demanding answers, the GP wouldn't have even put out a statement.

LadybirdsAreBirds · 25/08/2018 19:04

Thecatfromjapan

People don’t need a DBS if they enter the school to give a talk and are never left alone with a child/ ren

Amalfimamma · 25/08/2018 19:05

The green party, in 9ts won't to be woke blokes, have committed political suicide with that statement.

Which I personally believe was written by Aimee

Destinysdaughter · 25/08/2018 19:05

It’s so refreshing to see women voicing their legitimate anger in clear truthful voices on that Twitter thread. This is going to be explosive for the Green Party. And so it should be. Angry

And not just the Green Party.

Hell hath no fury.

AngryAttackKittens · 25/08/2018 19:08

The non-men are rather protective of children, on average. Who within the Green Party might have predicted such a response?

Cuntysnark · 25/08/2018 19:11

DC’s conviction has just been reported on the local bbc television news.

TwistedStitch · 25/08/2018 19:12

I've just seen that DC was proposing motions at last year's conference. There is something disturbing about continuing to seek both publicity and public office with these charges and a trial pending. Does it suggest they didn't take these crimes seriously, or thought he would get away with it? They must have known, AC must have known, that it would all come out soon enough. It's really odd.
