No idea re the AC’s odds

Do you think Ladbrookes would have run a book on something like that ? Italian gov. won't let me access british gambling sites (not sure if the whole country getting shut out, or just me, who's never bet on anything ever). But it would be interesting to see if there is anything that points to what the chances of an AC win were.

I have no idea who the other candidates are. The only one I ever saw in the MSM was AC. But presumably amoung party members other candidates would have had a much higher profile internally, due to their long standing membership and track record.

It lasted 11 days because David Challenor pleaded not guilty to the charges.

LadyLauraOver · 26/08/2018 15:29

I've crossed swords with the Macgregor person. He's got some vile anti-women views and should not be allowed anywhere near a political party, even one as unlikely to succeed as the Green party.

jungle723 · 26/08/2018 15:31

Thanks, placemats.

ItsAllGoingToBeFine · 26/08/2018 15:33

I saw something (on here? Twitter?) that was something along the lines of right wing men believe that women are the property of men, left wing men believe that women are the property of society...

11 days and nobody noticed.

Whoever said that the local press being reduced to almost nothing has had a detrimental effect on our ability to know what is happening around us, had a very good point.

CesiraAndEnrico

It's the monopolio which has resulted in some sites being blocked. Betting sites, sites to buy cigarettes and tabacco, some sites to buy alcohol.

Sanno dove è come mangiare

Amalfimamma · 26/08/2018 15:38

David was sentenced on monday 20th of August after an 11 day trial. I assume courts don't work sat and sun's so that would mean the trial started on Friday 3rd aigust

And Noone fucking noticed

TwistedStitch · 26/08/2018 15:41

Benjamin Smith (deputy leader of Welsh Greens) has tweeted criticism of the statement and said serious questions need to be answered.

BettyDuMonde · 26/08/2018 15:44

Well done to him. There needs to be a serious, sustained internal enquiry as to how this happened without the parties knowledge and how it can be prevented in future,

CesiraAndEnrico · 26/08/2018 15:48

Well that would explain it. All I want to do is check odds on (non sporty) things. And it blocked me from some vape shop recently. Bastards.

CesiraAndEnrico · 26/08/2018 15:51

Good for Benjamin

TwistedStitch · 26/08/2018 15:51

Graham Linehan is also tweeting about it now.

Amalfimamma · 26/08/2018 15:51

CesiraAndEnrico the used to block supermarkets too but thankfully we can now do the shopping from home

BeyondRadicalisationPortal · 26/08/2018 15:52

I commented publicly on it earlier, I wonder if (me being in Wales) that comment got to him...? Hmm

CesiraAndEnrico · 26/08/2018 15:52

Ohhh, he's tweeted more than once on this

twitter.com/bsmithgreens/status/1033667673811505152?s=21

BettyDuMonde · 26/08/2018 15:58

Seriously, good for him. It can’t be easy for AC’s contemporaries to speak out in the current climate.

Now, Caroline Lucas, why aren’t you saying similar?

CesiraAndEnrico · 26/08/2018 15:59

Since I've learned to make golden syrup, out of sheer desperation, I've weaned myself off international food shopping. Which DH is pleased about.

He never quite recovered from the spoonful of piccalilli I forced on him.

CesiraAndEnrico · 26/08/2018 16:01

Oh boy. Benjamin is really engaging with this. Here's a tweet that makes you wonder how much the greens failed to give their own regional party leaders a heads up.

VickyEadie · 26/08/2018 16:03

How old is that Benjamin fella? He looks very young in his profile photo.

Then again, I spend half the time when I'm watching 24 hours in A & E wittering about how young the consultants all look.

Popchyk · 26/08/2018 16:03

Benjamin Smith is also only 20.

And is showing more leadership than the rest of the Green Party put together.

Amalfimamma · 26/08/2018 16:04

He never quite recovered from the spoonful of piccalilli I forced on him.
grin

I'm with him. On thay lol

BigChocFrenzy · 26/08/2018 16:12

From Baracker:

"the ADULT PROPOSED CANDIDATE FOR DEPUTY LEADER OF THE GREEN PARTY"
who whilst an ADULT lived with the convicted child torturer at the address of the torture,
an address which is publicly listed as the Green Party Coventry address."

@MNHQ that post does NOT break your published guidelines
If this was the Tory or Labour party colluding with a paedophile or rapist you would allow such posts.

Someone being trans should not be an excuse to censor discussion you'd rather not have, about serious crimes,
about political collusion to cover up those crimes and make further crimes easier to get away with

That ADULT has agressively campaigned to lower the existing safeguards that protect women and children from predatory men

That ADULT has publically persecuted women who have tried to keep safeguards for women & children

That ADULT tried to become deputy leader of a UK national political party, to continue their trans ideology against women & girls

BitOfFun · 26/08/2018 16:18

I think that the whole "without the party's knowledge" is...what's that Mumsnet word? DISINGENUOUS.

That, or almost criminally incompetent. I'm not sure which is worse.

Sarahconnor1 · 26/08/2018 16:20

Here's a tweet that makes you wonder how much the greens failed to give their own regional party leaders a heads up.

I'm convinced the green party thought they could brush this under the carpet, no prepared statement, no clean up of the website, etc. The question is why, once DC was convicted the only way this could be kept quiet was the injunction. So did the greens know about the injunction? They must have mustn't they?
