People apparently support trans

Janni01 · 05/08/2018 17:56

Don't know if these has been discussed, but was watching a soy documentary on the fight between trans and feminists and it actually said 72% of females support transwomen using female facilities and services and 65% of men support transmen using male services and facilities.

Anyone have any clue why so many seem to support this?

I'm thinking people support trans women because it is the decent thing to do?

what do you mean?

because 'supporting transowmen' is meaningless

do I support their right to a peaceful life free from discrimination?

of course

do I support their right to compete in sport as women, thereby depriving women and girls of the opportunity to participate fairly and safely in competitive sport?

nopey nope nope

How about turning on your critical faculties CassieBrighter and thinking this through?

OddBoots · 06/08/2018 09:41

Like everything the key is how they phrased the question.

There are a lot of women that would draw the line at penis, if penises aren't in the question there is no clarity about what is being said.

FloralBunting · 06/08/2018 09:44

I think CassieBrighter has thought this through thoroughly. They even have an article that you can read all about their thought processes (or click on a link that basically says "Fuck of T*" if you think they are talking shite).

Presumably Cassie is here to educate and inform readers about themselves. Won't that be fun?

ReluctantCamper · 06/08/2018 09:46

ah. Maybe if eCassieBrighter doesn't give a fuck about fairness for women and girls maybe CassieBrighter should state that up front and then we can all understand where CassieBrighter coming from?

ScreamLikeYouMeanIt · 06/08/2018 09:47

Thanks R0wantrees I'll give it a read. Really keen to find out more as boy what a tricky situation this all is.

AngryAttackKittens · 06/08/2018 09:49

Won't that be fun?

Define "fun".

FloralBunting · 06/08/2018 09:54

AAK, in my house, 'fun' is usually defined by how quickly your eyes glaze over as you are told lies and coerced into agreeing women's and girl's rights don't mean shit.

But I'm a Catholic, so, you know, we're a bit weird.

ReluctantCamper · 06/08/2018 09:54

Oh god. I've just realised who cassie brighter is.

Cassie made cassie's children call cassie 'mom', despite the fact that cassie's children will know damn well that cassie is their father

so i think we can all be fairly clear about cassie's position on fairness for anyone who isn't cassie

AngryAttackKittens · 06/08/2018 09:56

Indeed, if someone is happy to impose their will on their own children in that way I can't wait to see how they talk to the women here!

ReluctantCamper · 06/08/2018 09:57

olympic level gaslighting

wouldn't want to compete against cassie in that event!

Bespin · 06/08/2018 09:57

thebewilderness

A number of establishments have maintained the privacy and dignity of men's loos while making the women's loo mixed sex.

you have forgotten trans men exsist again havent you lol

FloralBunting · 06/08/2018 09:59

Oh, bespin, you still here, love? Enjoying the sniping from the sidelines much better than pretending to engage with the substance, I should think.

'lol'

Wink
AngryAttackKittens · 06/08/2018 10:01

And ROFL, also, for old times sake.

Bespin · 06/08/2018 10:02

also yes the majority of people support trans rights in general but there are always going to be areas that do need to actually think about what that means. but I am optimistic that the world can move forwards together

Bespin · 06/08/2018 10:05

FloralBunting

yes still here still happy to present a alternative view and of cause the occasional sarky comment when people post obviously daft things. the world outside mumsnet is an amazing place filled with people who want to get along and make life work.

ZuttZeVootEeVro · 06/08/2018 10:07

72% of females support transwomen using female facilities

Makes me wonder why TRA spend so much time and energy on here. If the views here are a minority, why bother?

Janni01 · 06/08/2018 10:08

I just want to point out again that I do support trans rights if they've fully transitioned and they're more then welcome to use the correct facilities then.

I was just wondering why the figures were apparently so high, and I think it has been clearly explained that many people think when we talk about trans people we mean that they've fully transitioned instead of Gary from down the road saying he is now a women and barging into the female toilets.

bespin, ODFOD.

Monday morning, and I've already met my quota of dealing with passive aggressive GFs. I shall kick back and enjoy the rest of my week now.

Prawnofthepatriarchy · 06/08/2018 10:11

Well, quite, Zutt.

Prawnofthepatriarchy · 06/08/2018 10:14

A twelve fold increase in people accessing Mumsnet via FWR in the last two years tells us just how influential this board is.

Bespin · 06/08/2018 10:16

FloralBunting

your view is your own as is mine I'm not hear to fight anyone and sometimes you all say some daft stuff that makes me laugh as I'm sure some tra also do. I spend time on here because it's importent that people don't loose sight that there are real people in this trans is not just a consept and by being here it stops people getting carried away talking about people as if they don't exsist in the real world. you are a minority just like we are and I am optimistic that the majority do support us

FloralBunting · 06/08/2018 10:21

Yeah, at this point I'm going to ask you to stop directing your comments at me bespin, because I have used up all my patience today and I don't really want to deal with the PA bullshit today. Have a nice week.

Bespin · 06/08/2018 10:25

you too I'm off to move my boat now, hope your day improves

ZuttZeVootEeVro · 06/08/2018 10:31

If the majority of women really didn't want sex segregation we would have mixed sex facilities.

Why would the NHS go to so much effort and cost to provide sex segregation in wards when there is no demand for it?

The figures quoted in the op only related to toilets? And as others have said, the definition of trans is open to interpretation.

But I think many people on this thread know this.

IncrediblySturdyPyjamas · 06/08/2018 10:35

people post obviously daft things

What things are you finding 'daft' exactly?
