Jess Bradley is a shifting constellation of concepts with a conceptual vagina.

genderskeptic · 30/07/2018 15:05

BertrandRussell what happens to her should be determined by the survivors of her abuses. The whisteblowers called for a restorative justice approach if she's willing to admit wrongdoing — but the statement she's made and her choice of lawyer seems to indicate she isn't going to opt in to that. At the very least she should be excluded from trans and university spaces and accompanied anywhere public by someone responsible to keep her in check.

@Tanith I'm fairly confident that if the whistleblowers knew of anyone other than her they'd name them too. I imagine this is an isolated incident with close friends/co-workers willing to turn a blind eye. Which points to an institutional problem. But from what the thread said about organisations knowing about these allegations, and from her choice of lawyer, I expect she's probably had the trans orgs gagged too.

Floisme · 30/07/2018 15:08

I'm just reposting this link to the inaugural TELI conference (Bradley claims to be one of the founders) not just for the attendees but also for the sponsors listed down the side, including University Hospital of South West Manchester. I've really got to get on with some work now but it might be interesting to do a little digging into the others.

Ereshkigal · 30/07/2018 15:08

accompanied anywhere public by someone responsible to keep her in check.

LOL. I don't think that's likely. Do you?

No, what is needed is for all males to stay out of female spaces and the current social contract that they can be removed/ejected because there is no good reason for them to be there stay in place.

Bowlofbabelfish · 30/07/2018 15:09

Excellent summary fermats

I’d add that there are similar pressure groups including the ones Jess is involved with training the NHS, and having serious influence in schools, the police, girl guides etc.

Popchyk · 30/07/2018 15:09

Well, TELI Twitter is quite the education.

twitter.com/UKTELI

Lots of retweets of Doctor Christian and denunciation of transphobes.

And this referencing the campaign for more women statues in the UK.

"Get nominating those Trans women and women who are trans allies who are lawyers you think deserve recognition only takes a few mins....#PutHerForward putherforward.com"

So never mind about actual women, put forward men instead. And if there aren't any then make sure the woman you put forward agrees that men are women.

When I read posts that use 'she' for JB my eye just skates right over them. I don't have time for that cognitive dissonance.

Bowlofbabelfish · 30/07/2018 15:15

Well that was deleted before I even had a chance to pee myself laughing or wrote a pithy reply...

Calling a geneticist a eugenics promoter is fairly unpleasant stuff, genderskeptic.

Would you care to explain why you feel that’s an appropriate thing to say? To a scientist who has spent the last few decades dedicated to human health and wellbeing? And is arguing on the basis of child safeguarding?

I await your reply. I’m afraid my resources don’t extend to Carter-Ruck levels of libel protection...

ALittleBitofVitriol · 30/07/2018 15:15

Oh the derail is fabulous. Every time our new troll friend posts, a feminist gets her wings.
Geneva convention! stifles giggles so as not to wake the husband

On your post below genderskeptic
"LaSquirrel & JackyHolyoake you need to read some decolonial feminism before you're even competent to debate the subject. “No investigation, no right to speak” — Mao in “Combat Liberalism” "

Unbelievable – fascinated to know how Mao Zedong a man, writing in 1937 and subsequently responsible for the death of millions in the famine of the late 50s, as well as countless forms of human rights’ violations can be described as a ‘decolonial’ feminist OR any kind of feminist? And even if that ludicrous stretch were possible why on earth would anyone be interested? Mao himself did not hold to his own maxim, going on to displace, forcibly ‘re-educate’ (and that’s the kind term for it) millions, as well as encouraging stoning, lynching and other forms of physical violence. Or is that why you like him so much?

If you want to be taken seriously at least use credible sources to back up your arguments, if you can’t find any, ask someone else in ‘the let’s take aim at the feminists tag-team’ for tips.

SunsetBeetch · 30/07/2018 15:19

Another interesting case:

"Just learned that a few years ago, a Trans woman named Allison Woolbert made "Terf Tracker". He would log women's "likes" on Facebook and facilitate criminal stalking and harassment against them by fellow “transwomen”.

Turns out he was a rapist.

This is major league batshittery.

BettyDuMonde · 30/07/2018 15:20

I don’t think Mx. Skeptic understands what kind of work geneticists actually do, Bowl.

Or else they don’t care about the great leaps people in your profession have have made re: care for women at risk of women’s cancers etc.

reeldoop · 30/07/2018 15:20

"Nothing innate about Sex"

"Geneva Convention"

"Intersex is a natural variation"

LOL LOL LOL

I can't get any work done this afternoon, this stuff is golden!

Calling a geneticist who helps people with genetic conditions a eugeneticist is low behaviour though. And nonsensical as I don't think anyone actually thinks women are trying to irradicate people with intersex conditions. Or even genuine people with gender dysphoria.

Ereshkigal · 30/07/2018 15:20

No Sunset. That didn't happen. Because it never happens!

AngryAttackKittens · 30/07/2018 15:21

You'd think they could at least throw in some Bakunin for variety!

SophoclesTheFox · 30/07/2018 15:22

It’s a high bar to out-batshit what passes for critical thought in the wilder end of the movement for trans rights, but there are some serious contenders right here on this thread.

Ereshkigal · 30/07/2018 15:24

My thoughts exactly Sophocles!

genderskeptic · 30/07/2018 15:24

"In order to build a great socialist society, it is of the utmost importance to arouse the broad masses of women to join in productive activity. Men and women must receive equal pay for equal work in production."
-Women Have Gone to the Labour Front (1955), Mao Zedong

Ereshkigal · 30/07/2018 15:25

Relevance?

AngryAttackKittens · 30/07/2018 15:26

I asked for Bakunin...

titchy · 30/07/2018 15:27

At the very least she should be excluded from trans and university spaces and accompanied anywhere public by someone responsible to keep her in check.

And which public toilets, changing rooms and showers do you think Jess should use @genderskeptic?
