Jess Bradley, first transgender student officer, suspended after flashing photos

www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-6003331/Britains-official-transgender-student-officer-suspended.html

"Shocking images on the site show an individual flashing while sitting in a train carriage, in a public park and at a bus stop.

Another photograph shows male genitals being exposed in an office close to a curved wooden desk that is strikingly similar to a picture of a work desk that Ms Bradley posted on her Facebook page. "

The photo have been archived on archive.is, you can search there under the domain exhbitionizm.tumblr.com and include lots of flashing shots.

Bradley has commented:

" I appreciate at this time there is a lot of speculation about my conduct and I am able to tell you that I am confident that none of my behaviour has been unlawful, and that I have not engaged in sexual activity with anyone, or in the view of anyone, without their consent. "

And the plan was to eventually offer laser hair removal too? Yikes. That can go badly wrong, is not the sort of thing where you hire your mate and send them on a 3 hour course.

OlennasWimple · 29/07/2018 13:41

Or indeed the money raised to send books to LGBT prisoners

And it's curious that in the recent furore re London Pride, there was little comment about this disruption to Manchester Pride in 2016 led by JB

OlennasWimple · 29/07/2018 13:47

Can someone tweet the reporter on this Express article from last year? They make the connection between JB and the Miller report, but woudl be worth reminding them

(Also, I note that ATH says that birth certificates are violent and oppressive - I wonder whether they will say the same in their submission to the GRA consultation?)

TensionWheelsCoolHeels · 29/07/2018 13:47

That's interesting Rowan - I wonder how many other organisations have 'proudly' highlighted their engagement with JB & their various roles/organisations?

Due diligence. That keeps coming up in my head when reading all this stuff. Due diligence.

reeldoop · 29/07/2018 13:48

This whole thing astounds me. Why does Jess Bradley even bother identifying as a woman/trans/non-binary, when their whole adult persona is that of the malest hyper-sexualised male you could possibly hope to find, obsessed with their genitals, constantly cock in hand, posting pictures of themeselves sexually aroused, in public, multiple times over at least 4 years. Why bother being anything other? How is that feeling or acting like a woman/not a man? Does anyone know any women that are obsessed with their genitals, post public pictures of them or wank in public? Sounds like standard male dic pic on Tinder mentality to me.

CatONineTails · 29/07/2018 13:50

Are the photos absolutely definitely of JB then? Ugh.

OlennasWimple · 29/07/2018 13:51

I wonder if JB is still married and what her wife makes of the recent allegations?

Hansard 07 July 2016 Volume 612 Online Abuse

Mrs Maria Miller (Basingstoke) (Con)
(extract)
"Without digital connectivity and an online world, our lives would be poorer. The reason for this debate today is that our responsibility as elected representatives is clear: the internet needs to be a force for good, not for ill. I believe we all have a clear duty to come together and demand of the Government that they do more to address the problems of online abuse in all its forms. More than three quarters of our constituents use the internet almost every day, and more than half use their mobile phones to access it. Half of all crimes committed in this country have a digital component, and the police are overwhelmed by its scale and diversity, particularly the nature and impact of online abuse.

Rightly, the focus of the Government in the past has primarily been on online abuse that involves child abuse images, and I applaud the Prime Minister for his clear and personal resolve to outlaw that abhorrent crime. However, online abuse is much more than that, for both children and adults, and includes homophobic, transphobic, anti-Muslim and anti-Semitic hate crime, and image-based sexual abuse, to name but a few. Too often, those forms of online abuse and others continue to go unchallenged, because reporting mechanisms are unreliable or obscure, because the law was designed for an analogue age, and because the police are not properly trained to identify online abuse and then collect the evidence to make a case stick. We have to reject all forms of online abuse and show zero-tolerance through our legal systems, our police force and the things that we teach our children in schools."

A friend of mine who is a magistrate was telling me that they've seen a pattern to sexual offence escalating.

Serious sexual offenders, such as rapists, often start as flashers, then do stalking, creeping into bedrooms etc (remember the person who stole adolescent girls' underwear), before they become violent sexual offenders who use force. There's a pattern.

But gosh that would never happen, would it? Oh no no no. Women don't need spaces free from male genitals. Of course not.

DonkeySkin · 29/07/2018 13:56

I am less optimistic because people are already so invested in believing nonsense that they will deny rather than admit they were wrong.

I agree, BlackForestCake. That's why I don't think that any one incident, no matter how egregious, will 'turn the tide'. There are too many people and institutions now committed to championing this ideology. It is likely that they will be equally as committed to denying the harms as they stack up over the years.

Many, many influential people and organisations are going to be very invested in not only rejecting but covering up overwhelming evidence of harm, and persecuting those who try to expose it. It all reminds me of this quote from Carl Sagan:

One of the saddest lessons of history is this: If we’ve been bamboozled long enough, we tend to reject any evidence of the bamboozle. We’re no longer interested in finding out the truth. The bamboozle has captured us. It’s simply too painful to acknowledge, even to ourselves, that we’ve been taken. Once you give a charlatan power over you, you almost never get it back.

There was quite a lot of links and discussion about some NUS officers background etc in the thread:

OP DJLIPPY wrote:

"The following is made up from tweets from the #NUStrans18 conference which seems to have gone slightly awry after the gender neutral toilet signs were removed. They'd been stuck up the day before, converting the women's bathroom to the gender neutral bathroom, so that they'd have 'men's toilets' and 'non-men's toilets.' Thing's started innocently enough

"I am fucking fuming
Once again food is a mess. Vegan option was a total after thought many of us can't eat it due to allergies and IBS. So what are we supposed to eat for lunch? Leaves. #NUStrans18"

Some bright spark at the hotel scheduled a simultaneous conference for the UK Border Patrol and that's when things started to heat up

"The gender neutral signs at #NUStrans18 have dissapeared entirely, I'm blaming the border force, in the meantime I have awkwardly trudged into the womens toilet that used to be gender neutral. Cue enby screaming"

"#NUStrans18 is one of the few places we feel relatively safe but now here we are on edge because UK Brdr F*rce are here."

They decided to take matters into their own hands

"Currently in occupation of the bathroom lobby #bathroomcaucus #nustrans18"

"Be careful of slippery floors in the gender neutral bathroom - we have some cis tears 💦 #BathroomCaucus #Toiletgate #NUSTrans18"

cis tears or man piss?

"#NUStrans18 white people can we PLEASE listen to POC about engaging with the border force"

"#nustrans18 so update on what happened in the bathroom caucus: We were guarding the gender neutral sign, but weren’t in the way of the doors or anything
And a cis woman came in (not even to pee), saw the sign and went off 2/??
She started saying ‘what about our toilets’ to which we informed her that the gender neutral toilets are for everyone, and if she was uncomfortable she could use the women’s upstairs
She starts shouting ‘one at a time! Respect my authority! We’re here for longer than you!’"

"whoever occupied the bathrooms, you gonna apologise to your POC delegates? #nustrans18"

"great lil update from Finn on #BathroomCaucus these people are attempting to deny our right to pee and we were simply defending that, we were just minding our own business, she’s the one that got angry and aggressive and in our faces #NUSTrans18"

"#nustrans18 I sincerely apologise if mine or any other delegates actions escalated conflict/racism towards QTPOC. The thing is, I honestly don’t know what else I could have done? I didn’t provoke her, I didn’t get in her face."

"I'd like to apologise formally for the misunderstanding and poor handling of the situation that happened in the past hour. We never set out to aggrivate anyone or intended to cause unnecessary stress. I'm extremely sorry #NUStrans18"

Then identity politic work battles begin.

"I want to sincerely apologise for the statement I delivered post-motions at #NUSTrans18. It was insensitive given the nature of the situation regarding QPOC discrimination at the event. I'm autistic and completely failed in my reading of the tone of the room, but it's no excuse."

"Okay so white people at #nustrans18, us PoC are very, very exhausted from dealing with all the racist microaggressions here. We need reparations so please send us pizza, snacks, cigarettes, chocolate, dinner money etc. My PayPal is "

I'm sorry if people find this reporting offensive because they're young and vulnerable youth but might I remind you that these students represent our future elites. In 20 years time they'll be writing our laws. Also, it's f%cking hilarious. See, this tweet they're pretty succinct

"NB: Some of the motions at #NUStrans18 could be interpreted as attacking women’s rights/protections, or even as anti-feminist “hate speech”. The response is a bit of criticism and piss-taking on twitter NOT attempts to close down and disrupt the event, or pickets by masked thugs."

The NUS Needs to have a word with itself. If these students are vulnerable and this explains their behaviour then should they really be voting on issues which affect the entire student body? Are they being used as pawns in someone else's agenda?"

I am fed up with real women being silenced / deleted and so on. I am a female an I personally object to males who pretend to be women so they can facilitate sexual abuse and intimidation of actual women.
Wanking in public and persistently flashing your cock is what deviant MEN do.
If you want to do this do not expect people to swallow the lie that you are a female - Because actual women DON'T MASTURBATE WITH THEIR COCKS IN PUBLIC.

silentcrow · 29/07/2018 14:03

*I guess the possible defences are:

  1. The Mail story isn't true.
  2. JB isn't representative of other trans people, who are all utter saints, obviously.
  3. JB was behaving in a completely reasonable manner, and what's wrong with women posting pictures of their cocks anyway, you transphobic bigots?*

There is also the "I've been hacked!" or "I've been framed!" defence - I am truly surprised that hasn't come up. I can only surmise there must be evidence that this person and that blog are linked, given the way the statement was worded, which boils down to "it was me but I didn't do anything wrong".

RiceandBeans · 29/07/2018 14:05

It's worth repeating this.

Well I guess the lack of response could be that t get haven't found a long lost brother/sister/second cousin/pet python to throw under the bus yet..

Why does Jess Bradley even bother identifying as a woman/trans/non-binary

Because identifying as something other than a man provides the ideal cover for abusive male behaviour. Not only do abusers get to take on the mantel of 'most oppressed ever' when they identify as 'trans women and/or non-binary', their adoption of these identities means that no one is allowed to point out that they are behaving exactly like abusive men have for millennia. Notice we are not even allowed to refer to Bradley's sex on this thread. We have to say 'they', as if this type of offending were sex-neutral instead of something that is overwhelmingly committed by men.

R0wantrees · 29/07/2018 14:09

I am fed up with real women being silenced / deleted and so on. I am a female an I personally object to males who pretend to be women so they can facilitate sexual abuse and intimidation of actual women.

cf last week's reporting of the transwoman charged with sexually assaulting four female prisoners:

from article quoted in OP
"The inmate was sent there despite not having had gender reassignment surgery.

It is claimed she was visibly aroused when she allegedly assaulted the first inmate.

She was originally sent on remand to New Hall women’s prison after a judge heard how she had been living as a female for more than two years.

The alleged attacks will reignite the debate over whether transgender prisoners should be sent to women’s jails before they have had surgery.

It is claimed the first attack happened within days of the transgender prisoner’s arrival at high-security New Hall, Wakefield, West Yorks.

The alleged victim — an inmate with whom she had struck up a friendship — said the remand prisoner stood close to her and touched her arm while her erect penis was sticking out from the top of her trousers.

It is alleged she subsequently made inappropriate comments about oral sex to another prisoner before giving her a bear hug.

A third alleged victim says she was also attacked.

And a fourth woman prisoner claims she was kissed on the neck.

The transgender prisoner has now been sent to a Category B men’s jail."

As others pointed out @NUS_trans account is down at the moment. Hmmm.
The NUS Twitter feed still has the Bradley clip on Sky News up.

parklives · 29/07/2018 14:12

Never thought I would be cheering the Mail on. Respect.

Sarahconnor1 · 29/07/2018 14:13

DonkeySkin

Absolutely. We are now in a world where mainly middle class & white, biological males are the most oppressed people in the country.

If they can't implicate a woman, it'll be "Russians hacked my tumblr". Mark my words. Grin

Gileswithachainsaw · 29/07/2018 14:21

A time travelling russian at that Grin

Going back to the naked cookery mentioned at the beginning If you are a transwoman with your male genitalia attached how do people know you are a transwomen when you are naked?
