Gender Critical Greatest Hits

I am trying to compile a list of the key highlights of the gender debate, a ‘greatest hits’ if you will Grin of the most succinct and shocking things that have happened over the past few years. The sort of thing that would ‘peak’ people.

It’s for a (creative) project that I can’t say anything about just now.

If you could contribute anything I would be very grateful. The kind of things I have so far are:

Bomb threat against WPUK

Danielle Muscato taking a place in a woman’s shelter and tweeting “some women have penises. If you’re bothered by this you can suck my dick”

Shon Faye “enjoy your erasure”

Lily Madigan comparing race for life with apartheid. Looking for a more up to date Lily abomination but there are so many, any suggestions?

Kimberley Nixon suing Vancouver rape relief

What would you add to the greatest hits?

I think you'll be needing to add Jess Bradley's lady dick being 'out and about' to your list.

lisamuggeridge · 29/07/2018 12:47

Hartley Brewer interviewing Madagain. That was pretty good. I dont like Hartley Brewer but she knows what to do in these situations.

India Willoughby telling lesbians to let it penetrate cos she is a woman...hmm..

R0wantrees · 29/07/2018 13:14

India Willoughby writes in Pink News
(extracts)
"Mumsnet – are hounding trans women in the same way Hitler went about stigmatising Jewish people.
Seriously. That’s no exaggeration."

"There’s even a debate about introducing a new trans Section 28, clamping down on educating the public about what transgender is.
Justine is adamant there’s nothing transphobic on Mumsnet. Only reasoned debate. She wants transgender visitors to Mumsnet to be “happy and supported.” It feels reminiscent of when Cruella de Vil opens a home for stray dogs in 101 Dalmatians."

"It’s all very similar to the way the National Front used to operate."

"I’m sure most people who use the site are decent folk. They want nothing to do with the rabid mouth-frothing going on by so-called “feminists.”

"Last week was my first ever visit to Mumsnet. Honestly, I thought it was going to be lots of stuff about prams, or family-related matters. A sort of online This Morning minus Phil and Holly. The reality is more like a Nuremberg Rally. It’s very scary"

"India Willoughby is a newsreader, journalist and television personality."

Translation:

Went there with a whole load of fluffy sexist stereotypes about the harmless, infantilised lower caste kind of people who exist to be superior to.

After two minutes: Shit, they think!!!

FloriDada · 29/07/2018 13:33

Indeed. Like I said, there’s a new pinnacle of the genre every day Grin

There's this cracker. MN thread on it at the time.

Gender Critical Greatest Hits

India Willoughby describing Mumsnet as nazis was my favourite. Yes India, women saying you are not the centre of my world is exactly like Hitler..

IStillMissBlockbuster · 29/07/2018 16:54

Jess Bradley was invited to give evidence to Maria Miller's transgender equality inquiry.

So the basis for the review of the GRA and making it easier to get into womens safe spaces is in large part based on testimony from someone who apparently gets their jollies exposing themselves in public.

Jess is also director of Action for Trans Health which receives government funding.

Publicly promotes exhibitionism, rape, paedophilia and incest.

Mumsnet thread here

lisamuggeridge · 29/07/2018 17:15

I think m going to quite enjoy the period where institutions start to note what the activists they have deified were actually saying. There is a lesson in there somewhere...

BlackeyedSusan · 30/07/2018 01:07

I wonder if Maria Miller has changed her opinion on the value of the advice offered?

Bingpot · 30/07/2018 16:54

Perhaps trivial in the context of other examples, but this doctor blathering on about how to identify transgender issues in pre-verbal children is fairly shocking.

lisamuggeridge · 30/07/2018 17:04

The whole thing is so stupid. It is predicated on media organisations and posh students beig threatening and controlling enough that we wont describe what is in front of us. The stuff in this thread sounds made up, its too absurd and yet THIS is the debate we are expected to indulge. Its ridiculous.

ZuttZeVootEeVro · 30/07/2018 17:19

I know. I think because most of it seems too ludicrous to be true, it's dismissed by many otherwise rational people.

LangCleg · 30/07/2018 17:37

I rather liked that being critical of the allegations against Jess Bradley is a contravention of the Geneva Conventions.

lisamuggeridge · 30/07/2018 17:38

Sane people dont believe this is happening, sane people believe people describing this have clearly lost their minds..

lisamuggeridge · 30/07/2018 17:39

I heard today that describing Jess Bradley's indecent exposure, with a focus on undermining womens consent, is just kinkshaming. Apparently it makes you marginalised does indecent exposure, cos people are bigots.

Venice Allan's and Jennifer James's separate interrogations by the Labour Party. Reading the transcriptions of those made my blood run cold.

MrsBodger · 02/08/2018 10:15

Mt Holyoke College in the US dropped its production of the Vagina Monologues because it was ‘reductionist and exclusionary’. This is a long established women’s college that now accepts transwomen. So even though the playwright had written a new monologue about a trans character it still wasn’t enough. Anything to do with women that is not about trans is not allowed.

SoftDay · 02/08/2018 13:59

It is extraordinary seeing all this stuff together in one place. As others have said, how comforting it would be to dismiss it all as the blatherings of Twitter gobshites; unfortunately, these gobshites are influencing public policy and legislative provision.

Trans activism in its current incarnation has nothing to do with protecting and safeguarding transsexuals - it is very clearly a men's sexual rights movement. How can so many women not see this?

Here in Ireland, "progressive" political activism, including so-called feminist activism, has been absolutely overtaken by aggressive trans ideology. One of my own many personal peak trans moments was the letter by Irish feminists denouncing UK T%%Fism. feministire.com/2018/01/22/an-open-letter-to-the-organisers-of-the-we-need-to-talk-tour-from-a-group-of-feminists-in-ireland/
No acknowledgment at all that British women have, for many decades, provided practical, emotional and financial support to Irish women - the becunted, bewombed kind - desperate to access abortion services. Repugnant stuff. "Not your fluffy kind of feminism", me hole.

We're so giddy at the notion of ourselves as the newly minted Most Woke Nation on Earth that we've entirely lost the run of ourselves.
