Gender Critical Greatest Hits

I am trying to compile a list of the key highlights of the gender debate, a ‘greatest hits’ if you will Grin of the most succinct and shocking things that have happened over the past few years. The sort of thing that would ‘peak’ people.

It’s for a (creative) project that I can’t say anything about just now.

If you could contribute anything I would be very grateful. The kind of things I have so far are:

Bomb threat against WPUK

Danielle Muscato taking a place in a woman’s shelter and tweeting “some women have penises. If you’re bothered by this you can suck my dick”

Shon Faye “enjoy your erasure”

Lily Madigan comparing race for life with apartheid. Looking for a more up to date Lily abomination but there are so many, any suggestions?

Kimberley Nixon suing Vancouver rape relief

What would you add to the greatest hits?

Is there a global sanpro charity that now talks about menstruating people rather than girls/women??

And were there reports or trans women requesting smear tests? I may may have made that one up!!

Regressionconfession · 27/07/2018 20:33

Lilly Madigan compiling a terf hit list and misusing her access to personal data. A governor being investigated/suspended as a result??

Is there any evidence for Stefonknee being a consultant/advisor to the Canadian government?

Regressionconfession · 27/07/2018 20:43

All the examples of trans women participating at competitive levels in women's sport - I know there are loads but it's not my area. I think the latest controversy was at a High School track event in New Jersey and it was highlighted that sport in America can lead to scholarships for young men/women to gain access to university.

Yes a link to that would be good to have on the thread

GC women being doxxed, twice.

enoughisenough12 · 27/07/2018 21:37

What about the Scottish councillor who is a "Children's Convenor' while calling women 'cunts' and 'transphobic bitches' on twitter and has signed off on a policy document about period poverty that fails to mention the words girls, women or female but mentions transgender men and NB. They're a bit of a role model for the movement surely? Grin

SarahCarer · 27/07/2018 21:46

Magdalene Berns delightful juxtaposition of a woman who fought for the right to wear flat shoes at a company she had been sacked by compared and a non binary person's request that they alone be permitted to wear the male uniform, which they then didn't even wear.

Caitlyn Jenner winning woman of the year.

Anne Lister being memorialised as gender non-conforming instead of lesbian.

James Barry being retroactively defined as transgender.

Autostraddle magazine: how to have sex with a transbian and Vice telling lesbians how to fellate girldick. Can't find the Vice article on Twitter, here's a non clicky link to the other.

Venice Alllen's suspension interrogation by labour - there's a transcript somewhere, but she was asked in all seriousness something like 'does feminism exist in the animal kingdom'.

Laurel Hubbard, and all other men in women's sport.

Heather Peto denying they ever stood as Warren Peto.

ImPreCis · 28/07/2018 10:06

Think it was Shon Faye’s? advice to her young followers
Suck dick and get tits early

The whole GirlGuides debacle.

Ereshkigal · 28/07/2018 10:31

Found the video!

Thanks Stormy. Look at all the other pathetic people on the show handwaving away the explicit violent threat Tur makes because trans!

You see this so much. Smug, arrogant, clueless men trying to get a gotcha moment with women.

This issue is about as real as it can get for women. Feminism is an issue that makes the difference between life and death or women. And yet you get these men having a fine ole time of it posing idiotic questions like that, as if to prove something.

So ducks don't have feminism, a ha!

It proves nothing other that they get all excited over a spot of intellectual masturbation at women's expense.

Guardian Headline:

"Transgender soldier is the first woman to serve on British Army frontline".

www.theguardian.com/society/2016/sep/17/transgender-soldier-is-first-female-to-serve-on-the-front-line

It was so inspiring to read that women could overcome discrimination by being a man. Well done to the British Army for such forward thinking.

Lib Dem policy committee member saying dead naming Ian Huntley is a moral failing.

I see the article includes the trans 'bingo' word 'brave' several times.

I know it's not funny. But that did make me snort.

How the fuck did we get here. The insanity is almost difficult to take sometimes.

BettyFloop · 28/07/2018 12:02

Munroe Bergdorf being chosen as the keynote speaker at the BFI Woman with a Movie Camera event rather than one one of the many hugely talented female film makers in the UK.

FloriDada · 28/07/2018 12:15

God, that’s a particular low Sarahconnor1

It is so good to have all of these helpfully compiled in one place. I hope people will use this thread as a repository for new highlowlights.

There seems to be a new horror pretty much every day and it’s hard to keep track of them all.
