I wholly reject the term cis woman

I wholly reject the term cis woman (or anything approximating it, be that ciswoman, cis-woman, cisgender etc.).

I do not need a qualifier or prefix to my womanhood.

Using that prefix to describe me is an insulating act of misogyny.

I do not identify with gender. I believe gender exists as a hierarchical social construct to force us into not only stereotypes but submission.

Anyone who uses the term “cis” to describe me is discriminating against my biology.

I will push back against the use of it until the day I die. I will write to newspapers, TV channels and other outlets telling them exactly why it is offensive each and every time I see it used. I will report its use as hate speech and discrimination each time I see it used.

I wholly reject the term cis woman. I am a woman.

A male acquaintance said that if anyone tried to call him cis he would 'knock their fucking teeth out'! I was shocked at first but then I thought he will never have to do that, will he, because the TRA chickens just go after women!

I completely agree. I find it arrogant in the extreme when a minority group push women aside with such a prefix.

Alternativefacts · 18/07/2018 21:32

Cis is deeply offensive to me because it presumes that I accept gender stereotypes. Fxxx off with that, do these people understand nothing about feminism and gender stereotypes?

It is also so obviously a power trip - look at the language used around it - so often massively aggressive and seeking to dominate and anger women.

You may not identify as straight, but if you don't identify as gay, then you will be labelled heterosexual.

No. It's not that simple. I am not cis. I don't have a gender identity. I don't believe in innate gender identity. Therefore I don't define myself in terms of gender identity ideology. Please call me agender, if you must. So Stonewall defines me as trans. And I might just march at Pride, and take up an LGBT place somewhere. Do you get it yet?

Ereshkigal · 18/07/2018 21:37

Bold fail. Just call it trans bold.

Another who rejects the nonsense term. It assumed I am happy with the stereotypes forced onto me because of my sex (which was observed at birth, not 'assigned', which implies there are just midwives/doctors playing toss the coin)

Its not the same as straight, at all. Straight is something you are. Cis is something you are not. Ontop of that, I read cis woman as 'female woman' which is the only way to actually be a fucking woman! So the female part is just unneeded.

This.

Observe how it's used here by our friend Avery:

I also hate the term and will rail against it whenever I hear it.
