Who We Are

Get the L Out is a group of lesbian and feminist individuals and organisations, opposing the increasingly anti-lesbian and misogynistic LGBT movement and the erasure of lesbians

Why We Protest

We believe that lesbian rights are under attack by the trans movement and we encourage lesbians everywhere to leave the LGBT and form their own independent movement, as well as to be vocal and take action against the proposed changes to the GRA.

Get the L Out believes trans politics (with uncritical support from the LGBT movement) does the following:

Promotes the social transition of lesbians, encouraging them to present as straight men thus favouring the pretence of heterosexuality over lesbianism – this is nothing more than a form of conversion therapy.
Promotes the medical transition of lesbians and pushes harmful drugs (untested hormone blockers, Lupron etc.) as well as unnecessary medical practices on perfectly healthy bodies – these are a form of misogynist medical abuse against lesbians.
Promotes the rights of heterosexual males who “identify” as women and lesbians (despite most of them still retaining their male genitals) over the rights of lesbians to choose their sexual partners. This new ‘queer’ LGBT politics thus coerces lesbians to accept the penis as a female organ and promotes heterosexual intercourse between male and female as a form of lesbian sex. This is simply a new facet to rape culture and compulsory heterosexuality." (continues)

No. It doesn’t. In any way. Hormone treatment can decrease male virility. It does not change male reproductive organs into female. In any way.

Can you please clarify what you mean by ‘a chemical period’? It is not possible for men to menstruate.

I've had a realization.a v obvious one. That men will never care what women actually think and feel. And the quicker we can shut up the quicker they can dominate discourse of what women think and feel.

How we feel about infertility. How we feel about gender identity.
How we feel about boundaries.
Whether we are entitled to bodily integrity etc.

So I'm not going to feel bad anymore if men don't get it.

It's breathtaking, the entitlement of male people who think they can disqualify us from womanhood on any grounds whatsoever, who categorise us by our reproductive function and who think it's appropriate to tell us who we should have sex with.

Let them 'be women' then. See how fast they change their mind when they realise it is isn't all frills, heels and makeup, and no one actually gives a monkeys what you say or think - and that men's opinions are the ones that count for more and there's not much women can do (God knows we've tried).

SuperLoud I had the same realisation with abusive xH. I always thought that the more I explained, the more evidence I gathered, the more professionals I got him to listen to and make the decisions instead of me, that he would get it.

I am still continually surprised at the fact that he not only fails to get it, but that even when presented with incontrovertible evidence, he will argue the opposite is true and actively seek to undermine what I am saying.

There really is only one answer - that he does not want to get it, he just wants me back in the box marked ‘subservient wife/woman’ where I belong.

At the same time, he won’t leave me at peace in my subservient wife/woman box, he keeps sending periodic salvos which a)show he still doesn’t get it and b) needs a reaction from me to validate him in some way.

But the point is that even if men do not get it, the laws still exist to protect women and children, and it is the law which needs upheld, not men’s need for dominance. The law currently allows for women’s privacy and dignity to be protected under the EA. That is the main point, which men as a class will never really get because they do not need those protections.

The only way through is really not to care about what men think and keep making the arguments. Now that is exhausting, because the campaign against female protections is relentless.

So to go back to cistern’s point about living as a woman for a year being exhausting, try having your sense of self eroded for years on end. It happens to so many women in the private sphere, and now it seems to be happening in the public sphere too.

I've skipped to the sixth page and there's all this discussion about what hormones do to a working penis, and it's all irrelevant, because the vast, vast majority of transwomen don't transition at all. Most never did, even when being dysphoric was an essential component of being trans, and now that being trans and being dysphoric are almost entirely uncoupled, and the trans movement is full of males who are very open about their comfort with their own bodies, and open about the fact that they like using their penis to have sex, it's even more the case now.

Where hormones matter, of course, is when they are pushed on children and young people, who haven't had a chance to discover whether they will ever be comfortable in their own bodies or not.

I'm truly gobsmacked by the misogyny...

I really thought that we'd evolved a bit since my student days. I am seeing more sexism and bonkers debates/theories there days - against women. Keep pushing down, eh? Change of tactics.

The San Francisco Dyke March, and now also the National Center for Lesbian Rights and the Bay Area Reporter, have ALL posted defamatory and libelous statements positioning the victims as the actual attackers, which is a complete reversal of the truth. Neither of the victims were ever contacted by these three sources to confirm or deny these harmful allegations.
