You're absolutely right Mogleflop - lesbians aren't being given a voice in this unless they are GC . We are being shouted down by transphobic straight women.

When this whole issue is about the rights of lesbians it's very ironic to be dismissed by women who claim to be feminists.

Lesbian is not an identity. Lesbian is a protected class defined in law by sex and sexual orientation.

Well Done to them. I have just read a post above. anyone forcing someone else to have sex with them is a rapist and it is not a 'hate crime' to not want sex with someone who has transitioned.

It's totally ridiculous too because it's like saying 'you are heterosexual because you married me when I was a male, but you should have sex with me because even though I have transitioned, I am still the male you married'. Unless they are expecting their wife to become lesbian (although according to the rubbish that is being spouted at the moment, is not allowed), but surely they know that someone can not just become gay because their husband decided to transition.

Some male-female are so bloody entitled it's unreal .. never seem to get this rubbish from female-male. I really hate the word 'cis-woman' too.

That's the exact opposite of what this thread is about, daim Confused. This is about the fact that lesbians who don't want to accept penis into lesbian spaces were asked to leave the march that is supposed to be a celebration of their sexuality.

Your voices, raised in support of males who "identify" as lesbians, are currently in the ascendent in this narrative. Your voices were the ones represented at pride yesterday.

Can you not even be truthful about that?!

Do you not get that there is a wide spectrum and view amongst transculture?

There are transwomen, who are totally respectful of natal women and I would also be very happy to march for their rights.

Then there is a very vocal faction of transwomen, who want to obliterate you and everything you stand for as a woman. They are setting the agenda and berating / attacking / frightening not just natal women but also peaceful transwomen.

How can I put it? Interpose transwoman with football supporters. Whilst most football supporters are respectful of other supporters, the wider public and property, these people are becoming 1980’s style football hooligans disguised as supporters. They organise themselves in much the same way as the hooligans of yore and their impact is 10000 fold greater with the advent of social media. What’s different today is that hooligans were clear that they were hooligans and some had neo Nazi affiliation. This time, they’re being far more clever, setting the agenda, pretending to be the injured party and attacking society from within.

Are you seriously saying you’d be happy to march for the vocal and dangerous transwomen?

Quite frankly be careful of what you wish for. I really fear for the future of women.

Absolute, total and utter bullshit.
As a bisexual woman who nearly separated from her male partner last year, I was put under immense pressure to include trans women in my dating circle. I was put under the kind of pressure where I lost friends and business over it. If I had been a younger woman I probably would have capitulated. As it is, I lost friends, my business lost work, I was asked to leave feminists groups and my name tarnished in my city.

Lesbian women have it far, far worse than I did. This is rape culture at work, you denying it exists is LITERALLY VIOLENCE.

I so often feel like a voice in the wilderness in the face of the trans orthodoxy. It is so difficult to keep my own identity in the face of immense pressure to allow my own needs to be lost in supporting the needs of the trans woman. Typical male conditioned entitled thinking in spades.

A neighbour who works in policy formation in the NHS told her kids that my DC now have two mums because that is what the NHS training in gender matters tells them is always the truth. Had to put her straight in that I am their one and only mum, I gave birth to them, I fed and nurtured them and worked in crappy dead end part time jobs for years to be there for them when they were young. No one is taking that from me Angry

Even the partner only support forums spout this shit, and even more worryingly provide material from Mermaids to use in helping your DC come to terms with the situation.

There are many trans women who are respectful but they are being shouted down by the aggressive TAs with their "female " penises and male sense of entitlement intact.
